RedLine MTL is far and away the best gearbox oil for that vintage of Ferrari transmission. I have tried at least a dozen different oils so I understand Donny's plight but in the Ferrari boxes the MTL works outstanding. I have it in both my 308 and Dino and it was a very noticeable difference to other oils. Also just to clarify RedLine is not red in colour :) The one thing that does not make a lot of sense to me is why the engine was not removed. On these cars you should always follow the rule of 3. 3 or more items and pull the motor. The difference in access in night and day, you can do things that are impossible otherwise, the final result is better, and the time pulling and removing the engine is more than offset with the savings of not having to work in the engine bay. This car looks to need more than just a service so pulling the motor seems dramatic but in the end is the easier option.

Also just to clarify RedLine is not red in colour :)
The one thing that does not make a lot of sense to me is why the engine was not removed. On these cars you should always follow the rule of 3. 3 or more items and pull the motor. The difference in access in night and day, you can do things that are impossible otherwise, the final result is better, and the time pulling and removing the engine is more than offset with the savings of not having to work in the engine bay. This car looks to need more than just a service so pulling the motor seems dramatic but in the end is the easier option.
that cold start thing is actually named a warm up regulator(WUR). I'm getting the same headunit for my 80's GTI.
More Donnie! Great video!
This gave me PTSD for when I last took my bmw 335i to the workshop.
Same. That’s why I got rid of mine. Loved the car and I really miss it but I couldn’t afford to keep it perfect. Maintenance was a fortune and never ending. Just too much and I hate owning cars with neglected maintenance.

Great video! I love the posters and pictures around the shop as well.
How does one go about contacting Donnie to discuss work? I don't have facebook (and don't intend to sign up) but I didn't find anything on his shop location. A 328 is something I intend to buy in the future and would love the car to be thoroughly cleaned up and running properly.
hello.
I doubt you are Donnie Callaway to begin with but I no longer have any interest in working with you even if if it was.
Wish I could have known this dude, in the early 90's, when I was servicing Marilyn's white 308. Only one guy, in inner city Cleveland, to get parts. Of course he was Italian...of course he hated everybody and charged you a fortune. We all had so much fun, driving her car that summer..of course she was smokin hot. Used to show up in little mini skirts. Meow!!!
You will for sure need an amplifier to run the Audio Frogs, Look at Mosconi Pico amps. They're tiny and make clean power.
What size of speakers is in this Ferrari, which is supposed to be hard to get?
Im form EU, and i never heard abou "Audio Frogs" before.
@@jareknowak8712 I'm not sure of what size is so hard to find. But I will tell you Audio Frog is a great brand is held in high regard in the Car audio Sound Quality forums around the world.
@@dmeyers5019 Seas, Dynaudio, Morel, Focal, ScanSpeak, Eton -yes, but Frogs??? :)
@@jareknowak8712 Yes Audio Frog. It is in the same league those you mentioned.
Would love to see an update when it's done. Thanks for sharing!
What a cool guy. Definitely seems like someone you'd want to hang out with.
Ahh saw Don on Jay Lenos garage cool guy
Matt slowly descending into a sea of zeroes on the upcoming service bill accumulating by each minute the video is playing. His smile is not natural by the end.
That covering on the wiring harness looks like high temperature nextel type covering. It really helps to block radiant heat. Good stuff (if thats what it is)
