During winter, would it be worth it to turn on the recirculation while the engine is still warming up because the engine isn’t yet warm enough to provide maximum heat? With recirculation some of the heat already in the cabin gets reused, allowing to cabin heat up quicker. Once the engine is at operating temperature, recirculation can be turned off.

When I turn on the recirculation button, I sometimes do it to avoid outside air - usually when it's full of diesel fumes in regular driving conditions - they give me a horrible headache. What is wrong when I'm still smelling fumes with the recirculation feature on? Driving a 2021 GMC Terrain and the cabin air filter is still quite new after being replaced mid 2023.

Hello guys I was having issues with my car AC(Lexus es330), it brings other car fumes or any smell around my car into my AC vent in my car while it’s on recycling mode , so some ac guys opened my car hood and close the vent intake in front of my wipers and now no fumes enters my car any more I just want to be sure if it’s safe to do that
