I've started saying "sounds immense" from watching so many of these videos
Get concerned as soon as you start saying "I reckon it sounds immense". ;)
Just ordered the special edition with the lazer etched Kraken on it, super jazzed!!!
I'm spotting these Aston mics in youtube videos more and more. Glad they are getting the attention they deserve
You and Dave have such good chemistry on these bass demos keep em coming!
Really mean sound you're getting, Dave. Super gristly beef. And monster bass lines to boot. Love your style too--helps me feel less self-conscious about never using a pick either. Thanks!
Actually the title is not correct. The B3K is the distortion _PEDAL_ and the B7K Ultra is a preamp and DI box. That's the main difference between the two.
I like how the bass morphed from a warwick into a chapman lol
Luv the tones. Thanks for the in depth review guys! I have to get one these on my board...
you guys rock!!!! do one with Duality fuzz from darkglass
Hmmm. I love my MXR pre but this may be the vid that puts my Darkglass GAS over the edge.

Could you demo the Darkglass Alpha Omega when that comes out in April?
Thanks m8
KARNIVOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLL
grab yourself a stubby mate, you're a bloody legend!
Hey! Nice vid I love me some Dave. Kind of a random question, but whatever happened to your washburn you had? It was the one you used in chasin jade. Just wanted to know if you still had it! Cheers!
Nice stuff!
love u rabea
Can you have a look at the MXR BASS DI+ M80 ?
I have one of these pedals and can’t seem to get a whole lot of grit like you do. what are the eq settings on your instrument? because that affects the output from the pedal
Expensive ^^ Btw., such videos make more sense if you compare the hardware with pedals everyone knows about.
Probably a lot easier to get pedals off of a relative minnow like Darkglass (for testing purposes) than a giant like, say, Boss :)
Dave's voice is like he just got punched in the stomach.
You guys are always talking about the mids but at which frequency is the most important for a really good modern bass tone.?
Plenty of products have mid controls but what is the most important range?
the guy that got a close up shot of the pedal got in the shot of dave and bea haha
Very nice pedal, I want one! I have a question about the the drop A Ibanez. I would like to know what strings and gauge are you using for that tuning. I found it very difficult to achieve a nice tension on the low A sting. Any info you provide would be useful.
krokmitenband there's a TH-cam called Ryan Bruce (aka fluff) who did a video on string gauge (skip to the end as he goes through guitar tunings first)
Yes I've seen it. I recall he doesn't go as low as drop A and it's for guitar. I was asking for bass and wanted Dave's option on the subject since he's actually playing a Drop A SR. But thanks for the info.
for 5 strings you basicly only got 130 and 135 sets (not counting the extra light sets). For drop A use the 135
check out kalium strings, I bought a 150 set on there. they go way higher than that too
Definitely use at least a 140 for the low A, I use 140, 110, 90, 75, and 55 for tuning from B Standard (B E A D G) down to G# Standard (G# C# F# B E). I recommend checking out Circle K strings.
I want one.
Compared with the 900, in terms of distortion and eq?
better than sansamp?
Most definitely. Sansamp is a 2 band ampeg/fender bass amp rig simulator. This is a 4 band (9 counting the toggles) preamp/distortion/di box.
Yenasty5 thanks. I'm very inexperienced with bass gear
Luigi Masella I wouldn't say it's better personally. It's different. It does the more distortion stomp box sound but the sansamp does that classic amp emulation and clank sound. Personally I prefer the sansamp
Luigi Masella also the sansamp you can buy a programmable version where you can save 3 sounds
I think it blows the BDDI and VT Bass completely out of the water. I do like their Oxford pedal, though. It's much better than the SVT stuff that sounds gloggy/waterlogged to me. As for the distortion rather than amp sound, that's not true. I blended a VMT/B3K, with my Ric here: picosong.com/GkNf/
Ah, the filth. Beautiful.
Dat glass doh

Where's Dave's hair? D:
They sound great but they are TOO Fucking Expensive. When they hit 200.00 bucks then Im in.
Buy used man! Check the classifieds at talkbass and hunt for a deal. They are worth it though.
COST 389.00$ usd super spendy
Try it w guitar.fuck bass
those Darkglss pedal are so overrated ..
They're awesome. Most of the demos have active basses playing heavy stuff. My Ric sounds awesome through a B3K and VMT combo.
What do you think? picosong.com/GkNf/
