I love lakes, mountains, nature, countryside, deserts, infact most things that Benidorm is not. HOWEVER, Benidorm has something else in its own right that makes me love IT. Benidorm is FUN and happiness and more. Benidorm is Benidorm. Infact me and my girlfriend compare Benidorm to our other favourite city by a beach........Pattaya, in Thailand. Stayed at the Agir Springs on the Mediterraneo just 2 weeks ago....... The transformation is truly amazing and the Town Hall have to be commended for it. This street is now a must-see for all visitors!!

Paul , apparently you stayd in that one little area at the end of the "new town" with bars year 70 style , plastice chairs , cheap beer , rowdy drunks who behave disrespectful ,drunk mothers with babys crying in stroolers until morning hours , striptease bars with striptease near the footpath .... Lucy showd for 19 months the real Benidorm , sun , sea , mountains , beautifull bays for snorkeling , the old town with great tapas bars , poniente area , nice shops , de street of WINNERS full with restaurants : the cuisine of the world in one street 👍👌 , the colorful statues who came first tho Benidorm and only go on 15 september to Madrid ... Many renewed squares , streets hotels and apartments of wish som don't allow hen and stags anymore ... Lucy showd for 19 months that Benidorm is so much more than that little part you refere to , she got so many positive comments from people with open mind whether they were ever there or not , some who visited Benidorm for years didn't know the existence of the old town . It's a pity that dispite all the videos Lucy made for people with open mind you keep holding to your one negative experience in small part of Benidorm .

Looking great Lucy, looks fantastic with all the lights lit up, and so nice to see all the cafes and bars doing well. I love it around the Plaza Triangle some lovely cafes to sit at with a coffee and relax. 🙂☕ and i also love the big tree 🌳🌳 ive got so many pics of us standing by it or sitting beneath it over the years. Im just back, I was along these streets a few times, it’s actually a decent place for a holiday, much to my surprise. We had a great time and very little trouble passing through Alicante & Edinburgh airports either.
Hi Dave just a question about your COVID pass as it appears that the U.K. passes don’t Have middle names on? Did you have any issue with this too? Did u fly Ryanair? Thankyou 😃
@@carlyholland8027 Hi Carly, you are right, one of our group has a middle name which wasn’t on her COVID status form but that’s just the Scottish NHS, we registered her with her full name (as her passport details) but the NHS didn’t use her middle name. It didn’t cause any problems at Alicante or Edinburgh airports. On the way home all our documents were checked at the Jet2holidays check in desk before they handed out the boarding passes so when we hit Edinburgh it was passports checked only. No long waits in queues at either end, I was really surprised.

@@carlyholland8027 no problem, I can understand your concern, there’s so many forms to fill in and the last thing you want is to be turned away because of a simple mistake. I took hard copy of everything with me and it was just as well I did, when we got to Edinburgh airport the Jet2 app didn’t work so I couldn’t access all the documents I had loaded on. Everything went well apart from that though.

Looking great, roll on the 20th. 🤣🤣 Lucy next to Harry's bar is the Irish Bar called the Bodhran it's actually pronounced like this 'Bore-on' is a round drum shaped like a a tambourine but bigger played with a small drumstick placed between the fingers. Creates a great deep drum beat. I laughed when I heard you pronounce it as the Bodran 🤣 There yo go now 👍

I was meant to be flying at 9:30am Sunday and I've had a cold the last few days. I had a covid test on Thursday and it was negative. I had another today for peace of mind and it was positive. I had 2 more and they were too. I'm going for a pcr test at 8 tomorrow. Holiday gone, I can't believe it.

When ever we visit benidorm we try to stay along the old town end prefer it over the new town area, not been able to get out for the last 2 years, but hopefully next year...:-)

My wife and i were dragged to Benidorm,as part of a group,more than 30 years ago and we did not really fancy the idea at all.We are the last ones to come to Benidorm,. many years doing 4 holidays a year
Looks great. I agree about it being a pain to drive there. I haven't bothered renting a car for ten years because the bus services are so good compared to the UK's.

Looking fantastic. Anyone that slates Benidorm likely hasn’t been, my only criticism in recent years is the number of sex shows, strip bars and prostitutes in the new town. Benidorm was home for many years and a second home for nearly 2 decades. I shall never forget our first day there and Jane ( you’ll know exactly who I’m talking about Lucy) at Peters Playa Bar being the friendliest bar maid ever made us so welcome we didn’t leave. She’s still a friend all these years later. Many businesses have come and gone but it’s still a wonderful place to be. So looking forward to coming home over the winter.
Just got back from my 24 holiday in Benidorm. I would say its just getting better and better. Not alotof entertainment on atm. Didn't miss it to be honest. Hundreds of bars and restaurants open. The Old Town was very, very busy with Spanish holiday makers. Weather was hot 34 -38 at times. Loved it. I'm looking to book my 25th.

Great night time trip. A great shame that many people do seem to write off Benidorm as a destination, but as you say it’s nearly always people who have never been. Not really sure what is there not to like???? It has something for everyone regardless what the critics say. Nice beaches, good seafront and a great old town. It depends I guess what people are looking for? interesting human behaviour
Benidorm is the most open mind town in the world. You can find kids and elders in the same PUB or restaurant. Even is the first destination for the retire spaniards who want to live in a quiet, safe and clean place without beign disturbed... You can find gays , lesbians , etc in an straight pub enjoying without beign bothered.... safe , clean , 5 stars hotels for rich people and digs for non wealthy...... Everything.
@@joaquincastello6174 yes indeed all of those things. I live in Spain in Torrevieja and have a holiday apartment in Altea and know Benidorm very well. My kids went to school there. Never really sure why it had such a reputation. It did suffer once from a lot English drunks. My children are Spanish and they sometimes get appalled at the English behaviour. I must say it’s all Nationalities when there are too many drinks taken.
My favourite street in the whole of Benidorm. I walk it every day and sometimes treat myself to an ice cream at Haggen-Dazs. Oh that's a church. I always wondered. 😂

She’s still a friend all these years later. Many businesses have come and gone but it’s still a wonderful place to be. So looking forward to coming home over the winter.

Just got back from my 24 holiday in Benidorm. I would say its just getting better and better.
Not alotof entertainment on atm. Didn't miss it to be honest. Hundreds of bars and restaurants open.
The Old Town was very, very busy with Spanish holiday makers.
Weather was hot 34 -38 at times.
Loved it. I'm looking to book my 25th.

Great night time trip. A great shame that many people do seem to write off Benidorm as a destination, but as you say it’s nearly always people who have never been. Not really sure what is there not to like????
It has something for everyone regardless what the critics say.
Nice beaches, good seafront and a great old town. It depends I guess what people are looking for? interesting human behaviour
Benidorm is the most open mind town in the world. You can find kids and elders in the same PUB or restaurant. Even is the first destination for the retire spaniards who want to live in a quiet, safe and clean place without beign disturbed... You can find gays , lesbians , etc in an straight pub enjoying without beign bothered.... safe , clean , 5 stars hotels for rich people and digs for non wealthy...... Everything.
@@joaquincastello6174 yes indeed all of those things. I live in Spain in Torrevieja and have a holiday apartment in Altea and know Benidorm very well. My kids went to school there.
Never really sure why it had such a reputation. It did suffer once from a lot
English drunks.
My children are Spanish and they sometimes get appalled at the English
behaviour. I must say it’s all Nationalities
when there are too many drinks taken.

My favourite street in the whole of Benidorm. I walk it every day and sometimes treat myself to an ice cream at Haggen-Dazs. Oh that's a church. I always wondered. 😂
