I've said it before that I think there has always been an under the table deal between the Bears and Mercedes Lewis. That way, he doesn't have to attend minicamp and OTAs. The coaches don't have to explain why the "old guy" isn't practicing.
@@dnice33 Man, I hope not. Wasn't a supporter of the Ngakoue move last season. This season, we gave up a 4th rounder next year to take Booker. You don't make that move if Booker is solely a guy you are hoping to project. Yes, Booker has a lot to learn, but that trade doesn't get made if Booker isn't going to get quite a bit of playing time with the ability to contribute this year as well. Certainly, we could add a bargain defensive lineman, but not a solid starter that moves Booker to the bench full time. If that was the plan all along, then we should have kept that 4th rounder.
Yes I'm concerned. There are 2 positions on the offensive line that are solid and that's LT with Jones and RT with Wright. The 3 interior positions are not as of yet solidified. I'd rather have colman win the center position and have Bates as the backup, when Jenkins gets hurt or Davis , we'll have a solid backup in Bates. Hopefully everyone is healthy for the entire season. But if not I'm glad we have Bates, another option is that if Kiran comes along as we hope we can kick Jones inside, if needed. Great show 👍
Tevin Jenkins probably isn't worth trying to extend. He just doesn't stay healthy enough to get a big money deal. Let him hit free agency and if teams make legit offers considering his injury history, then we can jump in on the bidding. If another team wants to pay him big time cash beyond any injury concerns, then they can have him.
With all the Nate Davis hate going on, I just want to defend him in two ways. First, last year his Mom was dying and then died. Let's give him a pass for not being very good last year. Secondly, the NFL is talking about making a chance of eliminating OTAs and adding that practice time to training camp. I like that idea. What Nate Davis isn't saying, but I think he believes is that NFL players should be able to enjoy their offseason, then ramp up physically for the season. Trying to ramp up physically for OTAs, then get another month off, then ramp back up for training camp isn't a good training regimen for the body. No athlete really tries to stay at peak performance year round.
Still sort of bummed by the draft day decision to just take Rome instead of making that trade down with the Vikings. As a fan I hope Rome dominates and vindicates the pick. However, we had the chance to take Laiatu Latu and Adonai Mitchell with the extra pick. If BOTH those guys end up as stars, I'll always feel like a draft day opportunity was missed.
@@donn1387 I hope so. My point on the missed opportunity is that we could have had a combination of Laiatu Latu AND Adonai Mitchell BOTH. Rome needs to be either equivalent to that combo or better to vindicate the pick.

I think the same about Ngakoue

Kiran is looking like a reach in the 3rd rd if we can't even count on him for depth this year
I’m not concerned at all about this oline because i believe we have a qb that can get the out early and take pressure off the line.
Legatron!

I think a third TE that could contribute on special teams makes more sense. Is a 40 year old going to be a ST contributor?

I don’t get why all college coaches have transitioned to clapping instead of a voice cadence to hike the ball. What’s the advantage?
wonder How Tyson Bagent is looking at practice 🤔
I like Mercedes.

I think Rome is a better chance to be a star than Mitchell.

Williams hasn’t even thrown an NFL pass yet. OTAs don’t prove anything
