Good set up there Greg and easy to make. I do like sakuma mantra hooks for the larger fish as you say for hounds and rays. Personally I use a sakuma chinu size 2 as the pennal I found I got a better hook up ratio with them!
I use the same rigs myself for most of my fishing, an up and over with a sliding lead and a bigger bait on it, and the other with a 2 hook rig or a loop rig. Am going to have a fiddle about though, and see if can tie it somehow with the lead on a loop, so can use a short fat bloody bait on a hair/circle hook so it presents the bait the way a dingle dangle rig does, and gives a way of using a thick bait that stays clipped, and hooks more fish in the mouth rather than swallowed hooks. Also the loop of slack line just above the lead when ready to cast, can then be a built in rotten bottom when released. (If that makes sense??)
Yeah that sort of makes sense 🤔 it's all about playing around and testing things. I've done that very thing this morning, completely altering a rig to try and suit something new. All I have to do now is test it🤦
How long you build them does depend a little on how big a rod you use🤔 mine are at least 14ft long so I build between 60 -80cm bodies with 110- 150cm hook snoods. Obviously the hook snood needs to be less than double the body length👍
Hope your week is going well all most the weekend and will be time to party 🥳 lol I camt wait lol habe a cracking friend and a top weekend 👍
I wish! Work all weekend which is a bummer😩
Nice rig, swivel on the imp! Have often thought about this when making rigs, I guess makes sense to keep things in line.
Always have done it to reduce line twist👍
Nice one Greg. Educational as usual 😊
Cheers dave, thanks👍
Love an up and over rig
I'm 50/50 between up and over and pulley dropper

Hi i was just wondering what is the length of the body + snood, thanks

I better get making lol
You haven't got long🤣🤣🤣
Would of been helpful to tell viewers the length of rig body and hook length you used in video, a good demonstration tho thanks 👍
Sorry I thought I did🤦 my lengths change from one day to the next. I'm too inconsistent 🤦🤦😁
Any chance we can go sometime
Where do you want to fish?
