I have the rubber pad new custom made by a company and have some for the comunity that i offer now on Ebay.
For the first time i do this clean too but it was not so good and it work for really short period of time, some pads was not good though... THE MAIN PROBLEM is in that BLACK SQUARE - they worn out.
They work just like new and they aren`t expensive as new style pad kit.
For me was good instant glue but GEL version, because it is important that the glue stay in the corners only...it holds really well.

Hello and congratulations for the video !! I would like to know what kind of glue you use and if it is conductive since you put it where the circuit board is. Can you also recommend some pliers like yours to do the job so I don't break my fingers? Maybe for both the glue and the pliers you could link me something from Amazon just to figure out what to buy?
Thanks again and see you soon

Hello and sorry for the delay of answering. I was using leatherman pliers but it doesn't really matter what kind of pliers you are using. That glue what i was using was some basic universal glue. Dont use instant glue if you like to clean pads some day again. Have a nice cleaning operation!!

Thank you for the vid! I did this whole job yesterday -- took quite a while. Sadly it made even more of the pads dead. Do you have any idea why that would be? Do you think the conductive material stops being conductive somehow? The little black squares were in pretty good shape, though some had corners missing.

Hello and sorry for the delay of answering. Well, thats really strange that your pads works worse after that operation. With my pads after I scrubbed shit out of that conductive material with isoprophyl alcohol it start work like a new. Those earpads was full of black stuff after the operation. Its hard to tell whats wrong with your pads. You checked that connection of cables is secure between the pad board and main board. And anyway all the connections. It doesnt matter if that black square is a bit broken from the corners. It just have to cover the conductive material.

@@tuneogc6363 thanks for the response. Yeah I used alcohol and got the contacts totally clean. It may have been I wasn’t careful enough with the glue points/maybe the glue spilled onto the contacts and ‘blocked’ them somehow. anyway, maybe be extra careful with the glue...

Well that might be the reason. I took away that old glue and added just a really tiny amount of new glue. But is it just some of those pads that works bad or all of them?

@@tuneogc6363 I know it`s late but for some other people maybe would be good info...it`s also important that the rubber pad (the black square) is not in full contact with the sensor - there must be a little tiny amount of space between them...and as you hit on the pad you connect these two parts. So its best to use gel type glue because it holds the black square and it is easy to set it so that there is a small gap between

Hello! I think it's some kind of rubber that black paper. It's not that important what material you use. Just check that thickness is same with the black paper. I heard that people have used even aluminium foil in layers.
