    i did the counter steer mod and it turned out great using the parts that came with the car. its a free mod if you already have the front oneway. you should make a video showing people how to do it at home. i know you can because i learned watching your videos. Thankyou for all your help

      @@mrjrocco1 Unfortunately the servo assembly in this can't be modded so it can't increase the steering angle without gutting everything out and install our own servo.

      You can get a Zero-Z one like this www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001670938865.html
      Or contact your local Kyosho dealer for a Kyosho branded one. I highly recommend Zero-Z as it works the same at half the price.

    1:08 Hi friend what is the part number for the Rear Solid Axle and can you please put a link to where to purchase!! Thank you I been watching your videos and I just purchased my first mini-z awd!! great videos!!!!

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can lock the original diff to make it a solid axle by opening it up and put a piece of paper inside to block the gears.
      If you want to buy one, the original part number is Kyosho MDW024.
      The one way + solid axle kit I use is from Zero-Z which is exactly the same as the original but way cheaper. www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001671065507.html

    I has front one way and solid rear in my ma020… sometimes I think front one way not make much difference, rear solid axel definitely better… maybe my settings not perfect for front one way 🤷‍♂️🥰🐶

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You'll need to practice how to initiate the handbrake a bit. When you want the car to swing, turn slightly to into the corner and flick the throttle to brake, it will slide out then you just have to hold the slide by counter steer and apply the throttle.

    • @JakeDogg-RIP

      @@BeaversHobby thank you my frend, I know I need more practice, I don’t have any problems drifting, I just don’t feel like the front one way makes much difference, the rear solid axel definitely helps with drifting tho, and it drifts well with both 🥰

    I recently picked up an MA-20. So far I have the solid rear axle and front one way installed, but clearly I need more experience to drive like you do. Do you have any advice or a tutorial to reference for beginners?

    • @BeaversHobby

      I don't really look for the drifting tutorial but I've seen the videos from Kyosho back in the day and it's still good. th-cam.com/video/Gu4h2tZPMAM/w-d-xo.html
      I can't really describe how I do it either. Basically here's what I do with front one way. When I want the car to swing, turn slightly to into the corner and flick the throttle to brake, it will slide out. Then hold the slide by counter steer and apply the throttle.

    Is this the Kyosho FOW MDW-017? Or is it another brand? Does it require a different drive shaft?

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is not from Kyosho however it's identical and cheaper as well so no need to get a different drive shaft. Dare I say it's smoother than the Kyosho one I have too.

      It's not available here so that's difficult to get one. However the process is not much different than what I did years ago with the Race Tin here th-cam.com/video/q0r5i4hADeQ/w-d-xo.html .
      Also if you haven't got a transmitter yet, the whole process will cost more than buying a full version Mini-Z RWD.

    Can you somehow test in this video series the difference in drifting between 90mm wheelbase and 98mm wheelbase on your MA-02?

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can do 90mm. 98mm on MA-020 requires some parts that I don't have. I can do MA-030 for 98mm though.

    • @jonathane8585
      @jonathane8585 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BeaversHobby Awesome, Even just 94mm. I think it would be a good test to show everyone if there is a difference drifting the two wheelbases that comes stock with the MA-02, 90mm and 94mm. Maybe there will be a difference, maybe not. But I have never seen that test before.

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jonathane8585 Thanks for the suggestion. Will do that soon after I finished tuning it.
      I presume the result will be the same as when stepping from 98mm to 94mm on MA-030. It gets a bit more agile and decreases the turning circle.

    Is this currently the best way (kit) to get into small scale rc drifting?

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it is. It will get you started very easily. Just open the box, insert the batteries and off you go.
      However if you already have experience with RC and already have some equipment like charger and transmitter, getting a kit car will be much better.

    Hello. I installed the front one way but encountered a problem to which a can’t seem to find a fix. The installation itself went good and was easy, but sadly it doesn’t seem to work properly. I can turn both of the wheels independently backwards by hand and they turn together like a fixed axel forwards, but when I try to do what you did in the beginning of the video (0:04) my wheels stop at once together both front and back. I made sure my stock swing shafts are working properly and don’t “stick” but it didn’t help. Do I need the upgraded metal ones for it to work or is the diff defective? Thanks in advance and have a nice day!

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Another way to check if one way works properly is holding the rear wheels then push the car along the floor and see if front wheels are rolling. It should work like the rear wheel of a bicycle.
      Otherwise your one way might be dry or sticky. You can pull the drive cup out and oil the one way bearing inside. I use small amount of bicycle chain oil so it has a bit of viscosity and grip on the shaft when needed.

    • @glumfisherman7007
      @glumfisherman7007 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BeaversHobby The wheels are rolling on my floor but seem a bit more sticky than yours were, however when I place the car on my drift track that I made partly using your tutorial (EVA puzzles and vinyl table cloth) the wheels don’t turn without the back ones (I can hear the engine being turned) and when breaking they break at the same time. I think I want to try and oil it a little. Do you use some particular bike chain oil or anything in that genera will be fine?

    • @glumfisherman7007
      @glumfisherman7007 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have a 94mm wheel base ma-020 with the same set up. Mine turns a little better left but tend to lose control from time to time while turning right. When i move the car straight it seems like it wobbles left and right a tiny bit. Ive tried asjusting the steering trim on the KT-531P but its still acts the same way.

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Maybe the wobble is from something too loose or too tight on the car. Also check if the suspension without springs can move up and down freely. I think that's the important bit if not smooth the wheel will get stuck in upward position and cause the car to spin.
