100% on walking up from side and behind. This was a game changer for me over the winter. Really drives home the mission of sending the ball toward a target vs just hitting the ball. Awesome video!

Glad you like it! It's so interesting how that tiny change in intention (being target-oriented vs. "I need to hit this ball"-oriented) makes such a difference. I forget this periodically and then remember every time I go to the range to fix things afterwards 😅

Ben Hogan talked about the "Waggle" to unfreeze and prepare the body and mind for the golf shot

Great point! I love me some waggle, but have caught myself doing it over and over mindlessly, which makes me stand over the ball longer. One thing I recently started to pay more attention to is all the stuff I do in my pre-shot routine and how many of those motions are actually useful vs. being mindless time fillers...😅

Glad to hear it! Thanks for the question! And please do let me know if it works for you 🙂

Adding the feel box to my pre-shot routine has improved (especially my chipping) my score by several shots per round. By striking the ground with my practice swing on chips and making it as close as possible to the actual shot, I can tell whether my planned shot will work 90% of the time. It has also reduced the time/thoughts I have before the real shot.

Love that! Several shots a round - wow! This is what I learned in my journey too: we spend so much time trying to perfect the swing, but there are leaps and bounds to be found with minor changes (like adding the feel box) that can instantly drop the handicap. Thanks for sharing!

And I disagree...I have definitely screwed up a practice swing lol. I have totally chunked a practice swing. My success rate is less than 100%...

I always hit anything off the tee better if I just stand behind it, pick my target, walk up and hit it. All before I can think about anything.

Totally agreed! Funny how that works - we have all these swing thoughts to help us hit the ball better but the more we think about them the less well we hit it 😅

off topic question, but have you experimented with hovering vs non hovering with the driver? Am planning on trying it out at my next range session. Could be an interesting video topic.

I have! I did it for about a year in 2021. I could make it work but also found myself getting a little tight as I held the driver above the ground. Eventually I went back to having it on the ground because it also helps me have a low takeaway (like that drill where you push a ball away with the back of the club) which in turn helps me stay down. Would love to hear what you think of it!
