    Nice vid.
    Most people do not understand that hp is one of many things that effect how fast a sled is. Clutching and gearing make a massive difference. And that is the reason those sleds are the same speed until 70mph.
    If you had a race spec 600 sled. It would make ≈145hp, weigh 50lb less and have a top speed of literally 65-70mph.
    But it would completely destroy every single stock sled on the market up to 60mph. Under 2.5s in the right snow

    • @mudbrats
      @mudbrats  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      just to be clear. That is a stock 600r - no clutching. The 800 is clutched and the 600 was right there

    My 600 renegade carb is shocking. I had Apex sleds and bought one of these cheap after wrecking one. They are faster than an Apex out of the chute but obviously will get passed and blown away but in the normal riding speeds between 50 and 100 they are great and no more digging out! I now have three. I can't say I don't miss that beautiful Apex engine sound but the doo's are pretty dang good

      possibly - i am going off of published rating in 2012 - plus i had a bondi airbox and tuning to factor into the equation.., The whole point is the little 125 rated HP 600etec should be no where close to the 800. And it is.

      The XRS 600R is my friend DNOs sled. His son was riding it when we raced. DNO went from a 2016 800r XRS to the new 600R and put about 1500-2000 miles this winter on the 600. We were just talking yesterday and he says he is so happy with it and glad he didn't get the 850. He never felt the 600 ever needed more and in trails there is no comparison. If you are riding long hard fast straight trails all day long, the bigger bore sleds will shine, but in trails the 600R is more jam than anyone needs or can use!

      No doubt the 600 is quick but now i have an 850, I wouldnt say 90mph. I think around 40mph my 850 is gonna gap the 600. The 600 definitely holeshots quick but i find it really flattens out mid range. I think a clutch kit on a 600 would close the gap, but dont underestimate the long legs and boost injectors on the 850. Its a pretty linear acceleration and doesnt flatten out like the 600.
