Satan’s Work or Megalithic Remains? The Devil’s Mill Near Loffenau

The mountain called Teufelsmühle (Devil's Mill) and the Teufelskammern (Devil's Chambers) near the community of Loffenau in the Black Forest, Germany are shrouded in mystery, with a history intertwined with legends. The gloomy chambers, formed by the erosion of sandstone layers, were once associated with the devil and used as a shelter for smugglers and poachers.
Close by, along the summit ridge of the Devil's Mill, you can find many peculiar boulder formations that seem to defy natural formation. A local legend asserts that these stones are remnants of a mill constructed by the devil himself. The mill was part of a sinister pact with a miller, doomed to be destroyed before completion due to a trick by the latter.
