When watching an expert with a great sense of humour repairing phones becomes far more entertaining and captivating than 99 % of what is on TV and streaming services these days 😂
You should definitely leave your signature on every single board you work on!
"STS was here"
With pride.
Best ever phone fixing channel on TH-cam 🎉
Your videos never cease to amaze me but this one really raises the bar IMO.
All of this without a schematic or even a board view? Paint me very, very impressed here.
You're a wizard, pal. And your videos are so entertaining with the relaxed tone, clear diction and excellent filming. My favourite phone repair channel without a doubt.
Thank you for watching and commenting! I appreciate the compliments. Also, I like your profile pic!! 👍 now gotta plan for some lasagna 😁
@@ststeleYeah, your diction is on point. For a “repair channel” you sure got a lot of the production top-notch. Keep’em coming, this stuff is so enjoyable to watch and learn from.
I don't know if I miss them, or there aren't much of them, but I haven't seen Samsung boards very often, so this was neat to see something different. Glad the customer requested the vid, and you obliged. Thanks, Jason!
I'm much more comfortable recording iPhone repairs so I just haven't recorded thee much. When it turns out to be an internal board sandwich issue, it's a really ugly task to try to fix. Thank you! :-)
This is what I think of when I think of Skilled Labor. Impressive to see someone who’s this skilled and confident in his profession
Imagine if there's still a problem after putting it all back together.😭😭
You are a brave man.
As usual, I can feel your genuine professionalism, consciousness, and above all, your kindness. Keep it up 💪
What a skills you have amazing the way you remove that shield 🛡️ nice job doctor 🏥💊
Thank u!
The attention to detail is amazing, i will never in my life reach that level i don't have the patience to do that. LOL
Hi Jason, watching your videos from Germany. Love your content, but where are your sunglasses today? 😆
Great work Jason it’s wonderful to watch you work and I’m glad you are making videos again.
I do have to admire your attention to detail.
Cutting the copper heat transfer tape around that semi round corner of the shield was slick!
Thank you! I beat myself up a bit for not having wider copper tape. Lol
Many techs would have just left it off and the phone would probably be ok.
Thanks as always for your videos, the way you approach the problems with your own twist is so good, keep it up!
Great detective skills to find the fault . Amazed the back glass did not even have a crack
jason your skill never surprises me anymore excellent fault finding skills excellent keep up the good videos
Another great video, proper detective work.
This is best example for high professional work . I like to see mote videos . Learn lot of . Thanks
I've been watching your videos straight five hours , this never stop to amuse me, man...!!
Thank you!
Great video, Jason!
Great job - great inspiration :) thanks Jason
Yum. I like honey mustard sauce. That low melt is like uber low melt, nice stuff!!
A delightful, insightful and inspiring video! Thank you for producing and sharing it with us.
Thank you! 🙏
Super Video!! Immer wieder spannend. Weiter so.
Another Great video. Thanks Jason . 👍👍 A pleasure to watch you work.
Hey, thanks! I'm so glad that you watch & comment. I'm planning to upgrade some cameras soon to make it easier on the eyes.
@@ststele HiJason, i never commented on the cameras before but on my end the images and sound are amazing. I'm just glad your on youtube making these wonderfull videos and helping people understand just how our electronics function. Thanks. 👍
Thank you! I am my biggest critic. 🙂
Thank you so much ! You work so well! I love your videos and Have a great weekend!
Thank you much for the compliment & for watching! I hope you have a good weekend too.
Always phenomenal work, as a Samsung fan myself, this was a refreshing change of pace. I'm not exactly skilled at component level repairs or tracking down these sorts of shorts and such, so it's always nice watching a master do their thing.
Extra impressive that you're able to do it competently and efficiently without a schematic or any real aid. Keep up the amazing work sir, you've absolutely earned my sub and many more!
Hey thank you! I very much appreciate you watching and complimenting. 🙏
Perfect work Sir 👍
Very very nice work dear ❤❤❤❤ hard work pays off
Im amazed he bent it without breaking the back glass. I have a S23U and I sat down on mine and the back broke with a Caseborne installed on it. My phone worked fine, though. I replaced it and now I make sure to remove it when I sit down or if there is a chance I may fall down while doing my job.
Really nice video! Thanks
Very professional job!
Hey, thanks! 😊
Nice job. Keep em comming. Have you ever thought of repairing computer/laptop boards?
I love the facial expressions during your videos 😂
Thanks, they're hard coded! I can hardly even think without facial muscles moving. LOL
Hey Jason..... Another nice Thermo Cam Win!
Jeez back in my days.. No schematic.... No Fix!!!
Thermo Cams are a Game Changer for Component level Repairs!!
Keep Your Excellent Videos coming
Thank you!
Wow good job!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge
man I miss doing this kind of work so much
awesome as always ,
Great work 👌👏
Nice job Jason, it made a change from iPhones.
Great video, I did notice you mentioned the cap value too - was that just for me after my last video comment!!! :D :D
Good job
Not sure if I missed it but did you take the dent out of the shield? Brilliant content as usual. Keep it up.
AWESOME!!!!! 💪
Marvelous
Great always
Thank you!
I have a samsung A14 that I will be replacing the screen one day soon that will be a big job to remove the old broken screen. I definitely like watching every video that you upload here on TH-cam.
I much prefer buying Samsung screens with the frame and screen already assembled. Thank you for watching and commenting. I'm planning to upgrade cameras soon!
Yes I love samsung repair videos. 😊
The short master detector Nice find jason 👍 I won't even service my battery on my samsung hahah 😆
Happy to see a Samsung product since I no longer want to buy Chinese phones (Samsung is made in Vietnam). Thanks for the video. 🤗
Very nice brother
Thank you!
I am following along this repair with board view and schematic from Jcid, Also jc are making a lot very interesting repair tools and software like JCID RBOX Bus Analyzer what are your thoughts? maybe a video?
i learned so mush from you. great video like always
Nice! Thank you. I only checked ZXW for this board view & didn't realize others may have it.
Heya, nice repair love to see these samsung repair can you do them more often or is there no schematich and or boardview for samsung ?
Yes, will do! Thanks :-) I have quite a few board views and schematics but missing quite a few too. ZXW has the board view for the S22 ultra but not the S22-- odd.
Nice work there Mr bean😂 just kidding...Where do you get replacement parts 🤔 did you straighten the dent that was causing the short?
VERY NICE
Thank you!
Excellent pro repair Jason :-D
I'm sure the owner is as happy as Count Dracula with a key to the blood bank :-D
Yes im silly.
Thanks :-) Hehe, yes for sure. After downgrading to an A14, he's going to be really glad to get the S22 back! It's set to arrive today. I'm very much hoping there are no other problems. It's more than likely to be ok though. 🤞
Hi STS Telecom can you put a link from where you get that power charger with osciloscope it,s nice looking.
Do you use the hot air to take back covers off? What you set the heat and air at? Awesome video.
Thanks. Yes I do 220c airflow 65 and gradually heat until the phone is almost too hot to touch. It would be easy to overheat using hot air tho!
samsungs have a fast charge feature in settings if thats off they charge really slowly good for overnight charging theres allso a wireless fastcharge toggle in there 👍
Sorry Jason, I had to pause the video 3 times before I got to the end….you know, the holiday. I hope that you and your family had an excellent Thanksgiving day….. I would have thrown the low melt as it’s too soft lmao (no pun )
That low melt metal must be what magicians make spoons out of that melt in their fingers.
I knew a guy who used to cast teaspoons from that kind of alloy. The new guy was always given one !
LOL that is brilliant!
Any idea where I can find the pumpers points to input a TCL 30 z on BROOM in the logic board ?
Which thermal device you used to find short. Please reply I really need it.
Hi bro..how did you start ?I'm currently replacing screens but want to get good at PCBs this year..summarise
Oh NO, your next 100 devices that come in are going to have a 'make a video please pleeeeeeease' note with them.. You just opened up Pandora's Box! Nice to see how clean that phone is, and knowing the A14 - he probably wants his S22 back.. big difference there!
Yes, very true! For sure will be getting more video requests. Also the customer updated the ticket after watching this video & is very much looking forward to getting the S22 back after using the A14. It looks like he should be receiving it today!
Where can I buy 100mhz oscilloscope? I love it.
Please tell me you got rid of the dent in the shield? I am guessing the problem is it made that cap short to ground.
Why while reading in diode mode for looking for a short you put red lead to ground and black lead to where the cap would be positive? is this because your black lead positive?
Hi, what USB current meter are you using?
I startes not like board repair since iphone 12 serie because they use higher temperature for board to split, up to 11 pro max was really interesting to repair but with those boards we need to reball every time.
The new boards are awful for what was once quick repairs. If the problem is inside, it's very time consuming no matter what. As the device ages, it will become cost prohibitive to repair much faster than previous models. I think that is intentional by Apple.
Thank u 4 posting Android phones repairs, and not only Apple garbage.
About a shield, I seen technicians that just cut the part of it with pliers and leave it as it. What would happened if you left the shield unsoldered ?
what tool do you use for usb volt meter?
Wich motherboard is more advanced Iphone 15 or Macbook pro in term of VIA connections, Package on Package systems
7:25 You pronounced it correctly.
... "Mr. Brand Spanking New"! :D
I have the same phone. That was a treat to see the inside of my s22. Asom work.
omg you really do respect shields lol
Is it possible that the shield was mechanically stressed by the fall in such a way that the capacitor underneath was damaged? Did the cover prevent the glass from being subjected to too much local stress?
And I would probably have replaced the battery, as this is really damaging for LiPo if they have been discharged in this way.
what is the name of charger where can i buy?
I have a s22 ultra with exactly similar issue. Can you repair it. I am contemplating between repairing vs buying one from a cracked phone off ebay
have you had many blackviews to repair. My whole family owns them now. Very rugged and full of features, course you know that.
👍what more can i say by the way say hi to the family for me lol.
Thank you! But you have no idea how close this was to being an iPhone 4 repair instead. Lolol! Hope all is well for u!
do you have any solution for wifi problem of s22 ultra?
As usual you did an amazing job! But????? a samsung, its pretty rare that you show those??.
Is it because you dont receive a lot of samsung device or because you hiiiiddde them???? Hahahaha
Hey Jason, where do you buy that low melt solder from? I assume that melts lower than the typical 138 low melt that most of us buy
Nvm! You answered my question literally 10 seconds later in the video from when I stopped to ask my question 😂
Yes way lower. It melts at 136F! 😮 a cup of coffee is hotter than that. This is SRA Fast Chip alloy. It’s on Amazon for around $12. I believe paid closer to $25 for mine years ago at Micro-Center.
Wow! Yeah that will make taking these shields off much more doable. I previous was cutting them off with nippers. Makes getting them off honestly quite a pain
Is there anyway i could send my s22 ultra to you to see if you can get it to turn on ? i threw the phone many time when i snapped, and it turned off.. i bought a new display and frame from samsung... and replaced it all myself which is easy to do.. but it still wont turn on... there are 2 fpc connectors and one for the antenna on the board and sub board that broke when the phone snapped in half on the frame "it snapped between the board and battery which ripped the cables off the FPC connectors", for the black ribbon cables, and the antenna cable.. and i have a local shop who will replace those fpc connectors on the board for $150 and hes confident itll get the phone to turn on
But im not that dumb as ive built and worked on computers and dabled a little on circuit boards for 20 years.. just not phones.. and i still dont think an fpc connector is going to get it to boot, and i am not confident in this shop to diagnose the issue further than this... Sure with no FPC connection the screen wont come on.. the USB connection wont work.. but shouldnt the board itself still power on ?
I dont think the FPC connectors have any affect on wether the main board turns on or not. the phone shut off the first time i tossed it... before i snapped it in half ... The first toss just shattered the back and front but it wasnt snapped.. and those connectors werent broken... Which leads me to think its another issue.. something from the impact of the phone being tossed shut it off. This is why im thinking im going to waste my money replacing the FPC connectors that WERENT broken when the phone shut off on the first toss.
i asked if he could do something similar to what you did in this video.. and he said no which is weird considering he has the tools and stuff you do, He put my phone under the microscope and i saw the damaged FPC connections... if he can repair this kind of stuff like resoldering an FPC connector and stuff, shouldnt he be able to diagnose a no power issue by tracing the power issues like you did.. That seems simple to me, I would do it myself but i dont have the tools you do
I mean the FPC connectors still have to be replaced, so i guess it isnt a "Waste" of money, but what i mean by waste is this is probably not going to get it to turn on as there is probably something else causing that issue
If i didnt want my data so badly i would just get another phone, which im going to have to get here soon.. been 2 weeks without a phone and i NEED one bad... if i do the FPC connector replacement, between that and the new frame and screen i got i would have already put $300 into this phone, and what if the FPC connections still dont get it to boot then im out $300 ? Then i gatta pay another $150-300 to get that to work ? I dunno this sucks.. All because i refuse to use cloud storage... maybe i should use that on the next phont.. i shoulda had my pics backed up on my pc as well... sigh
have a good day , greeting from iraq
Huawei nova 8i display light problem ?
you should also change the thermal paste... if its hardened it will act like an insulator
The copper tape is touching it. It will be fine.
Which flux do you use
Chipquik SMD291
What do you like working mostly, Jason?
Android or iPhones?
Although I don't really care much for any of Apple's new sandwich boards beyond iPhone 11, I'd still have to choose Apple over Samsung's dirty sandwich. Samsung sandwich boards are not any fun at all to take apart or put back together.
@@ststele Nice! By the way, could you please share the name of the solder paste and low melt solder you use?
Sir i have s22 also it has issue my board charging ic got short so it dont chrge by cable i chrge it wireless i went to repair shop he provided me temporary fix as it just provide normal chrging now 5h sometimes above and when i plug it into computer all options are disabled any solution for this
If you don't mind answering, how much would the costumers bill be? How long did this job take ?
After watching your skills I believe if someone needed their data really bad ,your services could cost as much as the used phone price .a price well worth the data plus the costumer can recover much more at resale with a working phone
We charged $190 + shipping for this repair. It took quite a bit more time than the video shows of course!
