Hello Jason! This is in fact my phone you’re working on! I got super excited to be able to see you do the repair. You have an extremely valuable skill set and I appreciate your time. Thank you so very much for repairing my phone I have more devices to send your way.
Hello! I was wondering if you would find this video. I'm so happy to be able to help with repairing this phone & appreciate you sending it in. I believe you are actually seeing this here on TH-cam before even receiving it back in the mail! It should be delivered by Monday~Tuesday though. Thank you for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it! 😊
Your attention to detail never ceases to amaze. Customers appreciate the small things sometimes, and the missing standoffs is just that kinda detail. Love your work.
Hey Jason! Please continue to make these videos and posting them here. You are a real gem to TH-cam and have an extremely loveable personality (I love all the facial expressions and eyebrow raising when you're not sure on something!). Just a genuinely good channel to watch and hear your thought processes and how you troubleshoot and get to the bottom of a problem.
Hello, I really appreciate the good words! Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Interesting fact - I am actually not capable of talking without moving my eyebrows. I have to focus very hard when talking to my wife if I don't want her to know an emotion or predict my entire next sentence. My eyebrows give everything away! LOL
If you're fighting with an adhesive from one end, stop and then continue pulling from the other end, or slow down the pulling speed to allow the adhesive some time to get itself together 😅
Jason. I have been watching your videos for the last two days. I believe you are a real gem. One of a kind Electronic technician. Who really knows his stuff about cellphones. One question . Do you fix and troubleshoot other brands named cellphones or just iPhones?. Second question where are you located.? Because we definitely need a service just like you. Very thorough and honest and definitely you know what you're doing. Love your facial expressions when you encounter a problem with your equipment and tools. Love also your explanation of the situations and problems you encounter. Love your video . Keep them coming. Great stuff.
Hello! Yes We work on mostly Apple & Samsung but also service many other models. I post mostly iPhone videos because I'm more familiar with them and it involves less head scratching during the recording process. I am planning to post a newer Samsung repair this coming week though! We are located in Sarasota, FL & are happy to help with any repairs you may have. Also, I really appreciate you watching and commenting. Thank you.
We need you back Bro! We need new videos. It´s always nice to see your content. This is the type of job that i coud do it easy thanks to you, but i still watch the video not for the knolage but to remember you and your content. I think that there´s a lot of people like me that are making repairs the entire day alone and it´s always nice to have some content playing on the backgroung on the computer screen. It´s like radio for nerds. I hope you are fine and i hope that you will make more content for us. My life is getting better everyday thanks to people like you. Thank you. See you soon Jason. 💪💪💪💪
Jason, my absolute compliments to you. I love when I witness someone who actually fixes stuff instead of telling the customer- "oh, just buy a new one- not worth fixing these things" ?? Your troubleshooting and analysis techniques are admirable but the best part is your attitude. The other so called, Apple 'geniuses'; they need to be spanked :) Be well. and thank you for making these videos.
Great job as always Jason. I ended up with about 25 broken iPhones which I couldn’t fix due to not having your skill set and equipment. I’m sure the customer will be very happy indeed.
Thanks you! They're not always fixable or worth the time to fix though. I have a handful stored in boxes but I'd rather keep them around for parts or see them destroyed than to sell them off with data on them! I don't even really have anything much worth stealing as far as data goes but I just keep them anyway. LOL Hopefully customer is happy - they will have just received this phone yesterday.
The capacitor that was short it out Before Going to the infrared camera The capacitor had a crack At the bottom right hand corner That I can see Good video jason and keep the videos coming 👍
I used to watch your videos all the time but haven’t seen them on my feed lately, when this video came my way I made sure to turn on that bell and will be checking your channel more often lol. Great video as always thank you for your content!
Awesome video Jason. The way you take the time and effort to find the reason behind the phone not booting up and fix the phone so it can still go out and be used is amazing. When i see a lot of repairs on other channels they just do enough to get a backup and send the phone along with the backup out. If I needed a phone repair you would be the first person I would send my phone to because sending it to a repair shop that couldn't fix it you wold still get charged for them looking at it and then have to pay you as well so the point is send it to you get it fixed once and right.
I very much appreciate your videos, Jason. You’d be for sure doing all right without sharing your knowledge, yet you still do it. I’m sure I’m not the only one who values these videos. Whatever praise and thanks you get are much deserved. Thank you again!
You're a miracle worker with fixing mobile phones. I mean, that iPhone is like Lazarus brought back to life. I'm very much impressed how quick you're able to determine where and which component is probably faulty. great job there sir...
Jason, awesome work 👏. I just watched two of your videos and I just subscribed. You and Northbridge Fix are my number 1 to watch when it comes to fixing electronics. I love it cause I use to do that type of work in the military. I like your setup 👍. You are basically saving people's minds , cause everyone i know that owns an IPhone can't live just an hour let alone a day without their phone 🤠 - they go bonkers.
Great content Jason, as always. 👍 Now this might be a silly question, but what exactly is the function of these capacitors? This time you replaced it, but on occasion you have just removed them and the phones have booted just fine.
Hey, thanks! This one is a cap for smoothing out any ripples on VDD_MAIN. There are so very many of them in parallel on this line that one (or even a few) missing would not be noticeable. If enough of them were missing, it would cause problems though!
These capacitors are like water towers throughout the city: they provide local sources of supply current. They are distributed all over to provide local reservoirs of energy in spite of the overall supply coming from “far away” like from a water plant.
Wait, what?!? People are bothered by new, and brand, but not bothered by ball squeezable? Here's 10 bucks... They need to go and get themselves a life.
Awesome quality video, as always. Could you update the link to your t50n usb meter since it does no longer seam to lead to the device. Again, thanks and congrats to the efforts for sharing your wonderful skills in such a interesting and teaching way .
Thank you! Sorry but this meter came from Union Repair some years ago and it looks like they've stopped selling it + do not have an equivalent replacement model. There must be a better one online somewhere though! This one freezes up from time to time and must be rebooted. That could be because of the power source tho!
I'm using diode mode measurements instead of resistance for tracking down shorts. It gives a very quick, specific reading that can be compared to known good boards. It's just showing the voltage drop across the test points. You get a reading in either direction but when checking data provided by other techs, they are always putting their anode probe on ground! The known good diode mode readings are listed on board views that have data and to check against those readings, it's necessary to use reverse bias. So I guess the real answer is - it's because that's what everybody else is doing. LOL :-)
I learned 'brand spankingly new' .. and I KNOW that's not a word, but for whatever reason we 'they' I suppose, put an ly on the end of spankin'. Not sure..

Hello, I have a question. what could be the problem if my iPhone 7 is showing an ACTIVATION ERROR message upon setting up the phone? is it still worth it to have the phone repaired? how much would it cost for the repair?
This is likely a problem with the baseband CPU. Unfortunately it can be an ugly repair and with the age of the device isn't cost effective for repair. Sorry to hear about the trouble!
