    Thank you Tim! I was very fortunate to be on Team Dan John at my RKC kettlebell certification. I think that Dan is a world-class coach and a world- class person. I really enjoyed this BodCast.

    I love Dan's pragmatic approach to strength training

    What you have discovered is farmer strength. I had been lifting a couple years and had a little wrestling contest with a farmer. He was around the same weight and I couldn’t budge him in any way. I was just dumbfounded!

    Dan, do you realize, explaining the 40 days your waving your hands?
    I'm loving Easy Strength & recommending it to everyone.

    ES is a masterpiece! It's amazing that's it's not mainstream like 3x12 3 days a week for bodybuilding.

    • @OriginalStrengthSystem
      @OriginalStrengthSystem  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a masterpiece for sure. It’s too simple to be mainstream though. ;)

    Dan and Pavel are my heroes, yet I'm impressed they don't necessarily agree. Dan is not a fan of Simple and Sinister, but it is Pavels latest. Yet they write a book together.

      It's refreshing with people with differing opinions can respect each other and also move forward together to create good things.

      They're both great. Dan seems to be less hype. FWIW I'm pretty sure they wrote the ES before S&S and the RKC split.

    What, in your experience, has lead you to prefer the rack pull over the conventional deadlift within the context of the 40 day program?
    Thanks, great interview.

    • @OriginalStrengthSystem
      @OriginalStrengthSystem  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have a few reasons but the most important one for me is that the rack pull is invigorating - it seems to add life and an overall good feeling to the body. Where as pulling from the floor does not. My personal experience - mind you. I’m not saying it does that for everyone. Though it would be neat to run everyone through some tests to find out.
      Another reason would be that the taller person (not that I’m tall) wouldn’t need the bar to be set at the same height as a 4’5” tall person. Tall people should probably raise it up a few inches or so.
      And thank you for listening!

    With the pandemic and more free time on my hands, I'm trying to make my workouts longer. Would it be counter-productive to do more 15-20 reps to get more practice and spend time doing something I enjoy? If not, how would you spend more extra time? For example, I want to spend about 2 hours per training session.

    • @OriginalStrengthSystem
      @OriginalStrengthSystem  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Well, I guess you could, but it would no longer be “easy strength” as Dan has laid it out. And, depending on what you do, there would be a neurological toll. Now, if you keep it to bodyweight only, well, you could probably really up the reps. But if you are looking for 2 hours of work, even bodyweight training everyday at high reps seems like that may not end well. What if you “trained” and then found a physical hobby (other than lifting) to do? Like bike riding or hiking or something. If thats not an option, I think an old school bodybuilding approach may be better - dividing body parts or skills by days. Easy strength, as Dan lays out, is literally like a 10 to 15 minute deal that leaves the body refreshed and never taxes it. Wish I could be more helpful.

    • @BC4SelfImprovement
      @BC4SelfImprovement 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Original Strength thanks for the comment- what you said make sense. I may just add a body part for hypertrophy at the end of the session and leave happy with that .

      I know that’s a while thought for some an impossible thought for others but a way of life for some also. Everyone is different. I think the thing is to find the way and the path that works for the individual. 101.75 ways to skin a cat.
