It was a mix, sometimes CGI body, sometimes slimming down footage of his real body, sometimes comping his face onto a body double. By constantly changing what tricks were used they made it harder for the eye to identify faults with it, making it more convincing
O’ Captain, My Captain 🫡🗽🦅🇺🇸. the blue cube is the Tesseract, they mention how it was “the jewel of Odin’s treasure room”, so there’s a connection to Thor
I love that you were like "He lost a lot of weight for this movie." Nah bro, it's a body double. Marvel is about 5 years ahead of other studios with their tech at this time, and they put Chris Evan's "thinned" head digitally on someone else's body. Wait until you see Marvel's de-aging technology come into play, it's pretty good how they take old actors and make them young.
Captain America aka Steve Rogers first appeared in Captain America Comics #1, 1941 written by Joe Simon and drawn by Jack Kirby. The comic first appeared in May 1941 a couple of months before December 4, 1941 Pearl Harbor & the US entry into WW2. The fact that Captain America hits Hitler on the jaw on the comic cover was controversial because we hadn't even declared war on Germany yet. Actually we had only declared war on Japan at the time. Germany declared war on the US first. Joe Simon & Jack Kirby were ahead of their time.
The radiation protection project Bruce Banner worked on for the government that turn his into the Hulk was a attempt at the super soldier serum that created Captain America. Howard Stark created his Arc reactor based off his experiments on the Hydra technology that Dr. Zola invented that was powered by the tesseract. The tesseract was the treasurer of Odin's throne room because Odin use it to create the Bifrost the method in which the asgardians travel through the universe. Tony Stark create a smaller version of the Arc reactor for his Iron Man armor. The arc reactor was outdated technology which poison Tony Stark because he needed the new element his father Howard found the same element the tesseract is made from just without the magical properties.
All I will say is try to remember the little things, so many tie into other movies, some of the smallest things or line will come back around maybe even 15 movies down the road.
Ok there are actors (like Christian Bale) who undergo insane body transformations for movies. But this one would be genuinely impossible, the serum makes Steve a full 10 inches taller. No amount of not eating could possibly make Chris Evans lose or gain almost a foot lol
That would depend on the kind of ammunition, and the surface being shot. Considering the surface is the vibranium shield, if it were hardened brass ammo it would have ricocheted, but it was probably lead, which is much more likely to deform on contact with the shield and then fall to the floor.
Dude no one is spoiling anything I haven’t seen these like that. I didn’t study them and any I have seen I forgot what happened(bc it’s been THAT long)! I can enjoy these movies like I’m watching them for the first time because it’s either it’s been so long or I didn’t pay attention back then. I also haven’t seen any of the newer releases.
I hope yall enjoy! This movie is all time fav now !
chris evans at the start of the movie was just cgi
I lost brain cells every time they talked about his weight loss.

He knows that
I love Captain America he's my favorite Marvel superhero

I love that marvel do that with thier films
LMAO. That wasn't Chris Evans at the beginning of the movie. That was his face digitally pasted on a smaller actor. 🤣
lol I was trying to trick her into believing it was him

3:01 Funny how few people get the "trinkets in the desert" reference.
Tommy Lee with shotgun and red button in car was references for Men in Black
Ohhhh
Um, since it’s absolutely impossible for humans to GROW 2 feet (after they’re adults) no matter how hard they train…it was CGI. The whole movie. Wow.
You need to watch the entire marvel universe
Oh we are !
Bro c'mon that wasn't Chris Evans at the beginning that was CGI ...it's his head on a smaller body
Listen, just because you got the screws to hold the brain down doesn’t mean the screws are not loose
She’s pissed I understand but also crazy what if one of those bullets would’ve bounced off and hit somebody

Yall should watch agent carter at some point....it picks up after steve went in the ice and it focuses on peggy
Better late than never guys.
"why she care so much" ...lol because a guy is screaming
😂
He lost a lot of weight to play this part.
I can see Bill Engvall with the sign Waiting to say here’s your sign but you two are cool in my book
