10-Year-Old Lily Peters Was Murdered by 14-Year-Old Boy, Cops Say

- Wisconsin police have arrested a 14-year-old boy in connection with the killing of Lily Peters, a 10-year-old girl who was found dead blocks from her home. Gruesome details of the child's death also emerged during the court proceeding. Prosecutors described how the young teen allegedly lured Lily, whom he knew, along a wood trail before they say he punched her, beat her with a stick, strangled her and then sexually assaulted her body. A decision has not been made on whether to try him as an adult.
The fact that he assaulted her… this is not a case of a teenager just snapping. He wanted to do this. He needs to stay in jail. I feel so horrible for the girl’s parents… This family has been destroyed on so many levels.

At 14 I had a job, I knew right from wrong and I sure as hell knew that killing someone was just about the worst possible thing you could do to another human being. I think there's a possibility he MIGHT NOT BE her biological cousin. Some people have reported that he was actually the son of her Aunt's boyfriend. I don't know if that's true. We'll have to wait for the final police report.

And the distance from the suits house to her parents home was a matter of only a few blocks. Tons of people walk that trail and there was even a memorial happing at the time at the factory.

This reminds me of a kid that was kidnapped by his cousin and killed in my country. He was sentenced to 30 years and the friend that helped him with the killing was sentenced to 20 years. Even if he is 14 years old there is a limit to understanding and compasion with teens.
I think that limit is reaced when they kill or torture other beeings. As a 14 year old you KNOW that this is wrong and you know about fear, pain and death. Other small girls and children need to be protected from him, he should never, ever get to leve prison or a mental faciliteter/ hospital.

If it is posible in USA to place him in a mental institution for the rest of his life, then ”great”. That case isn't famous. That case is infamous. Anyone who was old enough to know about it is probably still horrified. I don't live in England, yet that's a case that I can never forget. I only have two that cross my mind on a regular basis, and that's Jamie Bulger and Ginny Rojas.

I’m still in shock, it was bad enough that she lost her life, but to now know the horror she went through I can’t say that I haven’t cried more than once for her. This reminds of the Maddie Clifton case. I was a kid when it happened so the story has stuck with me. Maddie, who was 8, was killed by her 14 year old neighbor. He was tried as an adult and got life.

I get that a child knows about crime and death, but they don't understand the consequences. Not saying this boy should get a slap on the wrist or even that I would agree with a possibility of parole. The boy Eric they were speaking of killed a 4 year old in a very violent way and I felt like he should not have been let out. But I think we should see all the evidence before condemning him to adult standards. This clearly was a family issue and I have to make sure that any of the adults weren't negligent.
