What gets me about Tool is that it can have cool melodies, and wild change-ups, and spectacular driving harmonization... and yet every single part, performed by every member of the band is highly rhythmic, and works with and around all the other parts. Almost no one else does it, and imo no one does it better than Tool.
This is the song that got me hooked on Tool 28 years ago when I was a freshman in high school. Then I heard H. Then I hear Pushit. As a drummer I was completely blown away by Danny Carey. As a music lover, I was completely mesmerized by the entire experience. Such an amazing band. They are still my favorite band to this day.
Guitarist: Adam Jones Bass: Justin Chancellor. Should be noted he came on for this and all later albums replacing Paul D'Amour. Not sure if Paul wrote the bass on this track or Justin
Amazing to see a cool Drummer reaction to Tool. I really love the newest album Fear Inoculum. It would be fantastic to see you react to the song Invincible. I really hope to see you enjoy it for the first time. As well as hear your thoughts as a Tool fan and a Drummer. The song is out of this world man. Love the channel!
This was the one! Second track, second LP. I was drumming in a metal band in HS, heard this and discovered I wasn't a drummer at all! (Stupid hair metal! 😆) Anyway, SO tasty. So filthy! A band that took ther time -- gave respect to the song's build. Let the song drive what they played. Delicious magic. Glad to have you back--hope all's well!
Love the tool reactions. I’m still waiting for you to go down the sleep token rabbit hole. If I may recommend sleep token-take me back to Eden it’s a Tool like experience. Also if you’re just a fan of overall musical talent, dive down the ren rabbit hole and join the Reniverse. REN-hi ren is where everyone starts
You gotta check out the live version of, "Pushit," from their album, "Salival." (it was a live album that came at time when fans were practically, "salivating," for a new TOOL release - hence Salival) Spiral out, keep going.
This was a genuine audio-gasm if ever there was.. Sir, you are priceless. And you do a fine job of vocalizing the different drum and symbol beats. In fact, until you pointed out the symbol- at this point t in you video, the music wasn't being percieved as individual instruments .. but after you resumed the track , the high hat became it's individual part of the sum and I heard it just as you described. ❤ that's magic.
One of the most interesting intros to any song ever, and one of my personal faves. I can never get enough of it. Also just a supremely groovy song with phenomenal dynamics
"I wanna know what hihats this guy has...." I always enjoy his hihat work. There are a few songs (such as this one) that have strong hihat sections, and those are among my favorite parts of his.
Adam Jones and his guitar prowess is absolutely PHENOMENAL! LOVED this!! Ps. If you wanna have another drum-ear-gasm 😮 I suggest you do 'Hypnosis'' by, well, you know who next... 😉 #Worship 🖤🎶
Bro, this song is a sonic rabbit hole. Just figuring out who's playing what in the intro takes knowing a little about each instrument and the effects used. This album is when they really found their sound. I'm a bassist and can't help but dig into everything that's happening.
Maynard James Keenan, Danny Carey, Adam Jones (guitarist you mentioned), and Justin Chancellor on bass. Paul D'Amore was the original bassist who left in 95. Can you clarify which YT video you used for this reaction please? It looks like the official one from Tool's channel, but that one has vivo on screen at all times. I ask bc I have been listening to tool since 94, and am hearing something in your reaction near the beginning that I haven't ever noticed before. It happens multiple times, but one occurs at 1:57 and its like a sequence of 2 clicks in the background followed by an ascending note. Any other Tool Army members notice what I am talking about? It happened multiple times, but I focused on 1:57 b/c I listened to their official YT channel listing of this song, spotify, and actually broke out my CD of this album to compare, and can't hear it on any of them. I am on a very expensive stereo and nice headphones as well. I just hear it in this reaction, and wonder what's up. It didn't affect or detract from your reaction or really change the song fundamentally since it was in the background and only a hand full of times. Your reaction was great as usual.
Upload the Stinkfist reaction somewhere else and put the link in your next reaction. I know it'd suck not to get the youtube monetization and clout and for it, but it'd also suck if you did that work for nothing at all and we never get to see it :(

This is one of my favorite Tool songs.
Well, I mean, in addition to all the other Tool songs.

Eulogy was my entry drug to Tool. Who else of you guys remember when and where you where when you heard Tool the first time? :)
Same. I remember I had to sit down.
For me, like many, it was Sober. Pretty sure I heard it on Headbangers Ball back when MTV actually played music videos.
@@aaronconnell2345 Sober got my attention for sure. The whole Undertow LP. But when I heard Eulogy, it was tool on a whole new metal level.
First time seeing Tool live at Lalapalooza '92. It was mind blowing! Extra bonus was Maynard featured in Know Your Enemy with Rage!!!!
@@aaronconnell2345 It actually debuted on Beavis and Butthead.
Fuck yeah, can never have too much Tool 🤘🤘
Guitarist: Adam Jones
Bass: Justin Chancellor. Should be noted he came on for this and all later albums replacing Paul D'Amour. Not sure if Paul wrote the bass on this track or Justin
He wrote most of the first half of the album including Eulogy and Stinkfist before Justin joined.
Man, if muted guitar is your kink than you are going to love this album and the next album..... and the one after that.

Excellent reaction, to an excellent sonic and lyrical journey!

i think its the mix from before they added their music to streaming
@@ariaperimeter I don't think that's it because I broke out my CD from the late 90s and I don't hear it on there either. :) Yes, I am old.
Nice reaction you should check out the Norwegian band Airbag.
If you react to TOOL, I watch.
