I like both versions. Steven's is a young man's voice, too young for lines in the face, so he's leaning on an almost teen-angst emotion to support the words. Ken's a mature man who's at the age where maybe he's really seen some shit, and the maturity and power come out strong. Both A+.

Why ist it, that when I hear my own Voice like recording - I dont like it at all, but many others say it's great. Is there a diferrence hearing yourself versus others hearing you??
Seriously, I hate the way i sound while others say (you gave me chills) or omg your voice in incredible etc etc..and i hear it and i get annoyed LOL.. i think we just hear ourselves differently is all..and we're our own worse critics.. you probably DO sound great! keep singing lol, im gonna!

Or perhaps you're just being rude. The sound of our own voices is very hard to get used to hearing played back, and sounds nothing like what we hear from inside our head. It can take a while before we can objectively listen to a recording of our own voice and actually critique it well. Yes, some people do need a lot of work on their voice, but to just say that others are "just being nice" to a stranger whose voice you haven't heard comes across as an intentional put-down. If many others who HAVE heard it say it's great and you, who have NOT heard it say it's just because they're being nice, who is more likely to have evidence one way or another?

I've been singing this song for probably like 40 years, high notes and all. To me, the hardest part has always been coming back and singing the two choruses after those high notes. I really wish you would've done that. To me, the control and note placement required to do that is more impressive. But, to each their own. Great job either way.

This is so great! For a few months now, alongside my guitar playing I’ve been trying to pick up singing again after leaving it behind for guitar. In those few months I’ve managed to have performing opportunities at school and outside of school where I sang songs for people. Most of those times people really enjoyed it, but anyways. I’ve been watching your videos recently, and so far you seem like the most reliable person on the internet. Before watching your video on increasing range, I don’t remember being able to go higher than F4 (I had to lower the key to a song which had G4 in it). But now I’m starting to get comfortable with G4, and I’m anticipating to go higher as the time goes on. Thanks so much Ken!
