@@DallasAdkins-u2y great point, I backed the Dragonfly and that showed up on my door step before I noticed a bunch of reviews from top influencers. I wonder if they did that to help drive the sales of the Ecto?
Well said. I agree with your points. This economy sucks. I was waiting to see if I could get a little more money for the 1A but figured the classic Ecto is what I wanted so I just placed my order. @@malcolmar I’m glad you’re able to make it happen. This is a hefty price tag for many in a time when everything is as expensive as it’s ever been. As someone who funded both previous Ghostbusters Haslabs, it's a few reasons I don't jump in. It's hard to back another Haslab before they honored their commitment to the last GB project (2 in the box), $350 is unreasonable for a shelf piece as I feel the reason most immediately jumped on the prop toys is that they can be used for cosplay and as display pieces, and comparing it's value to the hellcharger is not a valid comparison IMO as the hellcharger was even more egregious in it's pricing for what was promised. The premium tier is also confusing as it's a neat idea but who will honestly swap the modes more than once before it stays as one or the other on their shelf in perpetuity. Also, Ecto models are way more common than movie accurate, affordable proton packs and accessories. For me a $150-$199 tiered model would have been WAY more digestible and attractive. The model is great but it's plastic and LED's, it doesn't have the "wow" factor the props had.
@@Jeedmanjones Very interesting points. So would you say it’s the timing/pace of these Haslabs that are deterring you from backing? Or is it that you don’t find the value in this project compared to the other ones due to the versatility of what’s being offered? @@utromcraft5417 Those are very fair questions. I think Hasbro will Continue to produce the props as Haslabs only. They have each sold over 20k of the original 8-9k backers needed to go to production. Hasbro can’t afford to let a Cash grab like that go. I do think you’ll see the 6inch line go away.
