    I think you should consider getting custom 3D printed masks from other creators, preferably some resin casts as they are essentially made from molds created from original Lego parts. Socketballs masks are one of the best on the market. These ones feel messier, the proportions on some are off compared to the original masks they recolored, and bits and chunks of the printed masks falling off is not excusable for the price. I love DuckBricks yt content, but he need more work on his 3D printed skills or tools if he is gonna sell these and have a good reputation while doing it. I would not have sold a buyer a black Turaga Nuju mask with chunks missing from the mask, thats just not quality standard.

    These look absolutely terrible. I knew Duck definetly has a quantity over quality attitude, but these are just a new level of bad. I've gotten mask privatly printed/resin cast and there were way more and better quality for this price.
    May I recommend some alternatives such as Treatstock or Shapeways. Used shapeways myself, and their stuff if good, axles might just need shaving. And Treatstock I've heard great things about, never used it myself as I started printing my own masks at that point.
    There's also "Red star forge" which they have a ton of masks that they sell and from what I've heard and understood from one of the owners, they QC test and check every print before they're shipped out.
    You can also just do it yourself. Printers are actually much cheaper in the long run, and you have complete control over everything. Yes there's a learning curve (I'm still learning stuff) but it's so much cheaper.
    Or find a private printing service/resin casting service, just ask around, you'll get a much higher quality.
    But this, this is not worth it.

    Everything that has webbing/stringing is FDM printed. It all honestly looks FDM printed, except the Pink KauKau which should actually be Resin
    Certainly making me reconsider some things

    i have no clue about Quality Control in 3D Printing, but even i can see that these prints are not that good.
    at least when it comes to the non-legendary masks.

    I will buy 3d printed mask from Duckbricks store and I will sand down the build up and residue to look like the official masks with the heatgun.

    It's pure comedy seeing the pic of him at the beginning with thousands of dollars worth of toys followed by the actual garbage he's asking 70 dollars for. DB is almost caroonishly greedy and his "business" is a scam.

      yeah je is askong too mich for parts that are 3d printed and have a lot of exess material on them . at least it would be sanded down or try to make the smoother . its cool that custom parts exist but again my bruh asking too much

    • @okdingo
      @okdingo ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Medicine Man For the completely abysmal quality of the product, yes he is absolutely asking too much even if you account for the shipping.

      @Medicine Man You're right, I'll bet those 8 masks probably cost him dozens of cents to produce

    I am sorry for all the db fans out there,but these are not worth the $70,that money could buy you alot of bricklink orders.

    • @TajirMusil
      @TajirMusil  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      To be fair, most of this stuff you can't get on brick link. Not exactly a fair comparison. I will also admit the quality control needs some work.

    What would you say is the issue with the Metru eyestalk? I've been considering getting some of those since the authentic ones aren't much cheaper.

    • @TajirMusil
      @TajirMusil  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It's foggy, so the light piping isn't as good as an authentic one, but it's totally a usable substitute.

    To have really good looking 3d prints utilizing the usual fdm way, its filler primer and sanding. No other way around it, the process isnt exactly clean looking straight from the machine.

    Just curious, how long did this order take to process and ship? I ordered some nonaquatic mahri masks to see if the store quality has improved recently, but I haven't received an order update yet. Just wondering if you had a similar issue.

    Maybe consider buying a 3d printer. For 70 bucks you could buy one and the print won't be that crappy if you calibrate it right

    idk if this was the case a yr ago when this was uploaded, but on his site all the fdm and resin stuff is labeled, and the previews show you the stringing/quality you can expect from the items. basically showed me you rly need resin for stuff like this. i don’t think it’s an issue bc it’s not disingenuous & i think it’s nice he’s at least trying to make stuff available for ppl. i hope he gets into resin in the future. there’s other sellers w much higher quality but they don’t always have availability
