  • Sacred music from Ethiopia sung by the Saint Yared Choir.
Saint Yared composed all the music used for the Ethiopian church’s chants and developed classical musical art forms in the sixth century A.D.
The music all speaks of the Creation and the prophecies and the life of Christ - His Advent, His Incarnation, Nativity, His great works and saving acts, His Baptism, Crucifixion, Death, Resurrection, Ascension, and His Second Coming.
The music also reflects the national expression and Ideals of Ethiopian people.
Saint Yared must be credited for most of the music of the Ethiopian Church.

In the hand they have an instrument, the sistrum, which goes back to ancient Egypt's cow goddess Hathor. I looked it up.

@Ando This has nothing to do with the sistrum, nor is it the name. This is called a ጸናጽል (Tse-na-Tsel) It has no connection to the Egyption cow goddess hathor. The fact that you dont even know the actual name is concerning and speaks to how you even came to this information. The Tsenatsel is an instrument crafted specifically for the worship of God and is only used within the Church as well as the Kebero(the drum)
