Trailer feels like the plot is; Opening action set piece of Cap and Falcon fighting in and around the Celestial. The word Adamantium is dropped Introducing President Ross, The Leader and having Isaiah blackmailed/coerced into an assassination Second Act is Giancarlo, ending in the abduction of Ross and turning him into a Red Hulk rage monster Sam fighting Hulk is our finale, ending in the shield being destroyed and (somehow) Red Hulk regaining intelligence and stopping his rampage
I think this movie can succeed because it seems more "straightforward". I echo what nick said that it looks like a spy thriller that happens to have super heroes. I think that the previous movies that haven't been popular have been convoluted or overcrowded or just bad because they're trying to be comic movies and crazy and out there and whatever. this seems like a straightforward military thriller which puts it in the right direction
Assume these don’t come to Screencast podcast feed anymore? Also I know they’ve been super busy lately but feel KF entertainment commitment has been really poor of late. No show reactions, The Acolyte, The Boys, HotD. In Review been super hit and miss, no Inside Out 2, Deadpool 1 & 2 rewatches rather than Twister and Twisters just a bit disappointing
It'd be nice if they slowed the release schedule so we can get something other than dark, poorly lit rooms from overhead lights and sloppy cg in these movies. It's insane how you could swap screenshot from this and it could fit in with any MCU movie in the past decade
They changed Sabra's identity to be a "high ranking government official" rather than a Israeli Mossad agent to make the movie more palatable to a wider audience. I don't agree with this and I think it's because of Israels influence at Marvel Studios & Hoolywood.
It looking cool enough to be an enjoyable and simple political thriller is much more than I expect from a post endgame MCU. Visually it's still lacking like most modern MCU movies but I hope this will be intriguing enough for a couple hours of fun
agreed, like nick said, it looks like a political thriller that happens to have superheroes. if they write a good thriller first, this movie will be awesome, but I am concerned with what they also said with the iron man comparison that some movies serve to bridge or connect other stuff so it gets ruined by doing heavy lifting for other stuff
I'll probably wait for it to come to Disney+. Recent Marvel has had such a decline in quality that their movies no longer get my butt in the movie theater seat on name alone. I don't think they've learned anything from recent flops and are coasting on the brand while cutting costs. The CGI for a lot of this trailer is sub par IMO compared to what we used to get from big Marvel movies a decade ago. Look at the shot with the destroyed cars on the road and the clearly fake cherry blossom trees and tell me that looks better than the battle for New York in the first Avengers
My concern for Julius Onah directing is he has trouble working in a big budget studio setting. He made a solid debut a decade ago and then was thrust into a Cloverfield film that was taken from him and released as an unfinished disaster, only to rebound with his excellent indie film Luce. I just don’t know why Marvel hired him other than to take the film from him which appears to be the case based on reports.
It’ll probably be like a middle of the road mission impossible movie in terms of quality. But also yeah I do kinda think at this point it does seem like it’ll be like Ironman 2 introducing the thunderbolts and all the stuff with Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s character who I couldn’t care less about so hopefully Tim and I are wrong about this.
Its a lose/lose because, obviously we need setup for the future, but at the same time I don't want more setup. I feel like nothing has paid off post Endgame. Everything has felt like setup or not important enough.
