I can't believe I've never been here before 😳 I've lived in Tokyo for over 3 years now and I'm always desperate for a hidden spot to visit that is easy to get to but isn't packed with tourists...and this is definitely it 🥰
Thank you so much to the city of Fujinomiya, Shizuoka for inviting me out to participate in their taxi tour around town! Fujinomiya is easily accessible from Tokyo, just take the Kodama bullet train to Shin-Fuji Station about an hour away. If your reserve a taxi tour, you can hop in your reserved taxi and see the best spots of the city without having to plan or worry about making buses or anything (public transportation in rural areas can be difficult...) 🥸
Ngl I am getting tired of the typical Mt. Fuji spots...I went to Kawaguchiko recently and it was so packed with tourists that it was difficult to enjoy some spots. Fujinomiya really is still a hidden destination, and all the content you see in this video was filmed on a Sunday!! I really didn't try to not get people in the shots or anything by the way, this is just how it is 😇 Amazing!!
Even without this being sponsored I would say that taxi tours are definitely the best way to see rural Japan! I've said a lot that cars are the best way to see rural Japan, but driving here can be stressful if you don't know Japanese and it's easy to take a wrong turn. Taxi tours have the route planned in advance (and you can make requests!) and you will have a local taking you to the best spots 💛
