CJU straight up calling flat earthers fcking idiots had me howling! My eyes started watering. It was so unexpected. It's 4am and mom texted me to shut up and go to sleep 😂
Alex and Lisa killed the stranger who kills Nora (if you scold him, Cliff gets shot in the head instead you play as Nora) if you tell them not to tell, and take their side instead of reprimand them it shows them burying him. Also Hank can take a cruise if you both tines tell him to slow down/stop working
I might be wrong, but it looks like the person the girl's hit might have been the stranger that killed Nora. The pants and shoes look the same. With the rock bash, that might be some poetic justice right there.

Thank you for the great video as always. I lost my wife to cancer last year and I can absolutely relate to what this game is expressing. When such a vital part of your life is taken from you, it feels like the world is changed forever. Sometimes it feels so strange that I might well have decades left on this planet without her. What am I still doing here? What will I do with all this time? It can feel like waiting for someone that won't ever return. I love that the game managed to express something so difficult to describe.
Very sorry for your loss, Kit. You describe it very well, when we suffer a loss of a loved one, it really does feel like you've been plonked into some weird new reality, where a huge part of your life has changed and the rest carries on as normal. It does feel like you're waiting. Just killing time. Its been 2 years since i lost my Mother, and I still feel displaced. Hopefully we'll find some peace with our new realities in time. Lots of love to you.
Ya, codependent, hyper controlling, "friends," with a violent temper, and a megacrush on you are not safe to be around. Of course they also end up as stalkers if you get said restraining order.
Damn, i remember you playing the demos of these games and i am like "Oh, yeah i remember the demo from this game" and then i go check and all of these demos are like a whole year ago, yet i still remember them very clearly. Time passes by really fast...
Same, every time he plays a demo and then the full one comes out, I’m always like “wait why does this sound familia- oh he played the demo x time ago!”
I do enjoy how even the stranger, a character that is functionally an antagonist is depicted with some of the subtler strokes that he is also suffering in the same fashion as the rest of the cast, though with a decidedly more drastic course of action. A wonderfully written game, though nothing revolutionary, that shouldn't be the only mark of quality. It captures the nature of such moments of crisis perfectly, and in a way I do hope that such works of media can help those going through such things through providing some reflection or insight.
@@elliottmotl5127 This Dr.Phil has made some good indie horror games that you probably never heard off LOL, Make sure it isn't storming outside your window LOL
Yeah, and despite what some may think, much of the purpose of the more artistic creations is to reflect upon life as we know it in some fashion or another.
I loved this game. Played beautifully by Chris. I think the only thing I personally would have done differently, is give Hank the chance to live a little, see something new. He's old, he's sacrificed most of his life to the farm, and to his parents wishes,...he deserved some rest and change in his life.
Another change, I know the developers couldn’t resist, but could we just not confirm the conspiracy guy’s UFO stuff? It’s just silly in a game that otherwise keeps itself grounded to reality outside of the metaphorical imagery.
Finally some closure to this game. It is fun to compare my choices against yours in games like this and I feel you made the more ethical choices here. Much as I feel I would have. At least on my first run. Though many have probably never faced these exact situations, we have all been here to some degree. Thanks for the time you put in.
I been waiting to see what was going on and I loved the game but it was so sad in what went down. Grief is hard as I am going though it myself lost someone I loved yesterday and Chris is helping me so much right now thank you CjuGames.
Really really loved this game, the stories all entwine neatly, no loose ends… One of the best games in a long time for me personally. You can talk about human tragedies and struggles while being tasteful.
Glad to see Chris get on this game right away. Because I’ve been wanting to see it because its premise is interesting but doesn’t look like it’s up my alley for a game to actually play.
I love the storytelling in this game--the way the player character-hops to uncover the backstories, and how they intertwine. Also, I appreciate the touches of surrealism to highlight the trauma that the characters have experienced. _Very_ satisfying. Beyond that, I want CJU to open the End of the World Diner and serve us all pancakes, burgers, and 8 fries, while offering level-headed, good-humored guidance on all our problems. 🥞🍔🍟🤣
I'm always so happy to watch such "boxed stories" games like "What remains of Edith Finch" or "The Vanishing of Ethan Carter" with so many symbolism. I liked that you played it in full version, after seeing demo I really thought that would be a much different game so I'm pleasantly surprised.
I think what really helps this game is the length. I think a lot of games can learn from this, this game was just long enough to have a bunch of cool elements, but not overstay it's welcome. I see a lot of games that by the end it's like "ok yeah I'm ready for the end"
I really enjoyed this one! The voice acting was actually pretty good and I loved the way you got to play through everyone's story like that. Excellent game, thanks for sharing Chris! ❤
Oh nice to see the full game of this, wondering what will be the plot about when I first saw the demo. At first thought it might be like the "Legion" movie but a David Lynch-esque narrative is also nice. Also Lol-ed at the part where Chris just calls out flat-earthers.
This game is so much like Mouthwashing. Hank = Swansea = Experienced old men who have regrets in their life despite everything they've achieved; men who have valued their journey to get to their destination, which they find wanting. Cliff = Curly = A put-upon good guy who despite his flaws still has to actively take care of people around him and can handle responsibility. His moments of inaction was what led to his downfall. Rachel and Lisa = Anya = Innocent, vulnerable people turned collateral damage because of their partner's/friend's bad decisions. Eddie = Daisuke = A naive kid trying to make his mother proud. Has delusions of 'playing the hero'. William and Alex = Jimmy = People who have problems taking responsibility for the consequences of their actions, which drag down other people with them. (William out of cowardice and Alex out of worldly conceit that she knows better.)

The girls hit the murderer they are heroes lol. The game's nice but sorry I have so much rage with the murder I cannot really appreciate anything else...
My, something about this game resonates extremely well with my present melancholy, its a strangely nice feeling. I suppose in the most distant of ways the world I was once so fond and comfortable enough with is very distinctly failing around me.
Perfect timing! I need something to watch while working on spreadsheets at stupid-o’clock at night 😂 Kinda made me cringe at that attempt at washing up 😆
I think if I had a critique it'd be how heavy handed it is right off the bat Cliff is undergoing some kind of psychological break. I wonder if it might've been a little more effective to slow play that, unveil the fact things clearly aren't right in smaller ways.
I think I hated this one. Its not a bad game, in fact its pretty good. Good production values and well written. But I feel lied too. Like, I was told this was about a diner while the world ends. That's a way more interesting and unique premise. Making it a metaphor feels very....typical? Like I've seen this story before. Just disappointing all around.
I can understand that. So many horror games are all metaphors and hallucinations, and sometimes you just want an actual story that just tells a single coherent tale.
Wow, thanks for playing the whole game - I was hooked since you played the demo! It really reminded me of the game 'Best Month Ever!' which I'd really recommend if you haven't played it already. It's all about teaching your young son the best (or worst) moral choices in 1960s America through some eerie and comical situations. This was such a great game to watch that depicts many real-life personal situations but handled in such a beautiful way. I've just bought it on Steam as there's so many different paths to play and I want to experience them all.
Indeed, I just lost my Uncle and his wife my Aunt to cancer within a year and some months of each other. Life seems to stop at these times, we knew if it was this hard for us, to be kind to their adult kids and the grandkids.
Mabey SPOILERS bellow(???) Ok so i resd somewhere (dont quote me cos i cant find a video) that the guy that the girls hit & then murdered was the stranger & if u dont get them yo turn themselves in then u apparenlty learn this. If this is true then they are the true heroes of this story even if they dont realise it
JC, I have to say Alex is a terrible friend. She’s definitely one of those people, who many of us might have known growing up, who easily turns situations that may be unpleasant or bad into something far worse. Her solution to everything is to escalate. Total bad influence, especially for a rather meek person like Lisa who does need someone to help teach her how to stand up for herself better, but definitely not like that.
While I think this game handled it in an interesting way, games about dealing with grief and moving on are becoming a little oversaturated to me. Most of the characters I didn't find particularly engaging, or that any of the stories it was telling were unique or memorable. I was much more into the hook of 'World Ending and for some reason only Cliff sees the guys in white suits as he helps people in Purgatory', than just 'it's all allegorical'. Still, thanks for sharing with us, Chris. Always fun to watch you play through games.
I think you gave the wrong answer to Eddy but everything else I either agreed with or it was so subjective that I'm not even sure I could have picked an answer solidly either (the choice between Hank and Mandy was a hard one). I hope that telling Eddy you didn't believe him would have resulted in him getting back on his meds.
He gave the correct answers to help Eddie (they are all dead all along in purgatory in my opinion and Cliff/Nora (depending on who dies) is the ferryman of sorts, helping them out of limbo. The trophy and achievements attest to them being helped. The important thing is picking a choice and sticking to that path. So lend an ear to Eddie, then he’s a hero. William take responsibility and work on a solution together, admire Frank’s work ethic. Alex and Lisa, either reprimand then take responsibility OR side with them then tell them to keep quiet. It’s a great little game for £3.99, I enjoyed it a lot.
Nice! I saw this out of demo on Steam the other day and was going to share in your Discord, but someone already had. Looking forward to seeing how it goes. Hope you're doing well CJ.
The symbolism is... just a tad heavy handed. It's so clearly about coping with loss and dealing with events that seem "world ending" to you, so early on. There's no real mystery, no horror, and less philosophy than it wants. It's just a question of wondering how your answers are going to affect the lives of the other NPCs. It does avoid the trope of you being the bad guy, but everyone in the game is also a stereotype, so it's still pretty tropey.
Normally you’d wanna grab the plate and utensils before starting cooking mostly so you don’t put the raw burger blood on everything, also after touching the meat you’d want to change them. Js
Theory on what was really going on SPOILERS BELOW They were ALL dead. Everyone in the diner. The old man was ended by the cattle thief, the girls died in the car accident, the man they hit was the murderer drunk, the aliens guy died in a sht out with the police, the young couple is a little vague but i think it has something to do with the affair. Maybe he ended his family and then himself and Mandy when she decided to leave him either to continue to pursue acting, or because she knew it was wrong or both. Maybe he ended his family thought that would change Mandy's mind and when it didnt he took her and himself out too (its an unfortunately common situation IRL. People end themselves and others over cheating every single minute of every single day) BUT its also possible the family also died in a car accident due to the storm and Mandy ended herself. The diner was purgatory referring the waiting part. Thats why the crime scene guys were there, i think the main character died at the hands of the drunk too or ended himself after he wasnt able to save her. They really were there and he was getting flashes of reality. The young couple says they drove past there all the time but had never seen the diner before. It honeslty looks rundown and abandoned compared to the flashbacks . The shadows walking were people who had accepted their fate and were moving on from their own purgatorys. Theres a theme of accepting responsibility for your actions. Your wife is very clearly a ghost.

@@AlyceMalyceWhoa, whoa, whoa. All is forgiven for deviled eggs.
@JoMiMo555 okay, By Right of the Unbending Rules of the Cook; All is Forgiven should the Deviled Eggs be offered.
We are being blessed with these long videos
CJU!!!! Let's go!! 😤💯
I have been waiting a whole year for this game to come out.
YAY I really liked the look of this
Nice! I saw this out of demo on Steam the other day and was going to share in your Discord, but someone already had. Looking forward to seeing how it goes. Hope you're doing well CJ.
9:46 ah of course, Alan Smithee! The old fake name for when a director doesn't want to be credited
Uhh I was curious about this one since the demo! I liked a lot! Very interesting history.
Chris you should definitely play Finding Frankie because I know you'll get a lot of mileage out of it.
That man in the white t shirt looks pretty much like Trevor Philips from GTA5
love ur videos, thanks
Lmao imagine going to a restaurant and they draw up your order instead of writing it down
Alan Smithee aka the alias directors use when they know the movie is bad and they don't want their name associated with it. 😂
Damn awesome game!!! 💪
And damn LOL CJU I'm one of those that believe the earth is flat LOL😅
I thought this was really good. I enjoyed this one. 😊👍
Normally you’d wanna grab the plate and utensils before starting cooking mostly so you don’t put the raw burger blood on everything, also after touching the meat you’d want to change them. Js
This felt like a combination of Life is Strange and the movie Memento
this is a very well done game!
Theory on what was really going on SPOILERS BELOW
They were ALL dead.
It honeslty looks rundown and abandoned compared to the flashbacks
. The shadows walking were people who had accepted their fate and were moving on from their own purgatorys. Theres a theme of accepting responsibility for your actions. Your wife is very clearly a ghost.
Oh my goodness Hank sounds like Frank Welker 😂
Man, I would think your disparagement of flat-earthers will be a bit subtle.
