    Actually, sometimes a "day time strike" is done in order to "send a message" as well as to deal with an issue. Most of the time, doing a strike in the daylight means "We could do this whenever we want and there is nothing you can do to stop it."
    The reason that MOST of them happen at night is basically to reduce the risk of "civilians hanging around" as well as hopes of catching the enemy "sleeping" and not "on station", or at least not FULLY manned "on station".

    @35:00 ish That desync looks like the inertial navigation system has been slowly pulling out of sync because of the earths rotation. Just a thought that came to mind.

    • @Steamthrower1
      @Steamthrower1 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No it's a server / multiplayer issue, the host and client see different positions but the bomb hits the same target regardless. Earth's rotation is not modelled in dcs.

    Small, but maybe significant detail, in that video of the strike against Yemen released by USCentcom, it showed EA-18G growlers being used, probably for jamming of radar sights and shooting at them. Could there be any way of simulating this in DCS, and how does it effect the effectiveness of Yemen air defence against aircraft and/or (cruise) missles?

    Wonder if the desync trouble would be resolved by allowing designation of a grid reference point assigned to everything either hardcoded in maps or within missions? Apologies if this is already known about.
    Military has a similar issue that causes radar contacts reported over datalink by two or more link participants to be in different places as if two contacts instead of one. It’s caused by navigational errors but also lots of technical factors resolved by what they call a data link reference point or DLRP and an auto “gridlock” method to fix the problem.

    As much as I like that you do these vids, your aircraft load outs are always so unrealistic. You never seem to use drop tanks which are typically always employed. Especially when the typhoons flew all the way from Cyprus and had to remain on station for a few hours with the odd AAR.
    I’m aware that there are issues around not everything being available, as you said, but the RAF hasn’t integrated Paveway III (GBU-24) nor Paveway II (British MK18 with a Paveway II guidance kit) onto Typhoon since Tornado was retired and solely use Paveway IV (basically GBU-49 also known as EGBU-12 with some modifications and a different warhead with greater penetration capabilities).
    Can’t say much about the USN side of the operation, but I do know from videos that they all had bags.
    Sorry for the rant as I do genuinely like the videos but I just think they could be made so much better with this in mind.

    Alright Cap and GR team, I have a short competition scenario that's beyond unthinkably dumb...
    Commander of Ukraine's ground forces, Alexander Syrsky is now requesting A-10s. Given the environment, Su-25s have to perform a pitch up maneuver to fire their rockets. The A-10 loaded with HE rounds is basically a cluster bomb with 1174 submunitions; can the A-10 toss 30mm HE in a pitch up maneuver while contending with what Ukrainian pilots are facing? Which GR pilot can be the most accurate/effective against soft targets (troops, fuel trucks, Scooby Doo vans, etc) without being shot down?

    As a computer nerd having worked with computers for over 40 years, I cannot help but cringe every time you refer to "AI". There is no AI involved in this system. It's just a simulator, albeit a fancy one! AI is just a buzzword that people have been throwing around for the past few years to make things look more "intelligent" than they really are. But no AI is involved.

    • @Steamthrower1

      Well, AI is what anything the computer controls as a unit in this game, and pretty much any other. The developers themselves refer to it as AI. It's simply the term for non controllable units.
