      @@digitaldjtips Just installed , nice build , cables are long.
      speakers sat on my desk but are about 10-12 inches to low even with the angled base.
      I am Used to my old speakers which (I had for over 10 yrs) had seperate bass , so sound a little bit different .
      Biggest amount of money I have spent on speakers apart from my play out system in a long time.
      height is the only thing in my opinion that I need to change.

    The thing on the side is a passive radiator, an alternative to the porting (holes!) in many speakers. It allows for more bass

    5:51 I think you meant passive radiator, it's a driver that's passively driven by the chamber inside of the speaker with no electronics and help extend those lower frequencies as much as it can by pushing the air inside the speaker and moves the passive radiators!

    got a pair for 250$, they are great. but buyer beware of a few quirks (dunno if there are more, i never used it with usbc or bluetooth). cable connecting left to right speaker is not very long, barely reaches the end of my 160cm desk and is also rigid at the connectors so forget having your table flush with the wall (if you are mounting them on a mic stand that clamps to the desk, which im using… if you are using speaker stands, apart from those included, you might be fine but still you will have to push them deeper into the desk since cable is rigid). second, i dunno if it is just me but i have to turn the volume knob above 60% to get decent volume, also i need to bring my modx (which is directly connected to these via balanced cables btw) above 60% as well to get decent volume. included stands are fine but can slide out if moved. also, mine can be turned off without unplugging them from the wall, someone was complaining they can only be put to sleep/standby mode but adam said they were working on a firmware upgrade and i guess mine shipped with new firmware since when i push the volume knob once it lights red (dunno what mode that is, didnt rtfm lol) but when i press once again they do turn off. all in all they are good and i needed small speakers and the 3/8 thread on the bottom was probably the selling point for me. got a pair of tiny clamp mic stands, extended those with a ball articulating extension and yes, now i need to be aware which way the speaker is facing when starting to screw them on, lol, but once done its great. takes little space and they are almost flush with the top of the desk surface. recommended. oh, yes. almost forgot. when handling them DO NOT forget about those bass ports on the side, it is easy to forget they are there so if you are not careful you are going to bury your fingers into them when handling the speakers, lol.

    • @cordlesswire
      @cordlesswire หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @ oh, wait. thats a new one. i think. darn it, i cant remember now whether the problem was no off mode at all just standby mode, or standby mode after only 20mins and now i see another comment that they dont come back on after detecting audio signal in standby mode. will try checking out and finding the comment but in a sea of videos in history and if the video in question was on adams official channel it might take some time, lol. anyways, will report back. but for now i can confirm you can turn them off with the power button, lol. and for standby after only 20min i will try that one as well. mine did not go into standby thus far and ive had them powered on for more than 20min. i think. haha. cheers!

    might get these in addition to my T7Vs which i have at my main pc 90 degrees from my decks, just to use closer to me while I play records. Plug em in the booth output on the mixer and what have you..but how long is the connecting cable that's included btw?
    edit. Another comment made me think the cable is prolly like 150 cm long and the more I think about this.... why not just have a standard XLR connection between the speakers so I could use any length of cable I want? I understand it's meant to be easy to set up and for use with a laptop or small table or whatever, but not using a proprietary cable could have made this more interesting for more use cases too. even if it's like 10 to 20 cms wider. Disappointing. Don't think I'll be getting these

      XLR is 3 core whereas this cable needs to be 4 core for power +- and signal +-
      Looks like mini DIN, you could probably get a cable that works, might be worth asking Adam for the specs. I think the ilouds use the same cable.
