Seems like this guy is using information from nihon shouki, he should have used the older reference wich is Kojiki, nihon shouki is the second oldest sure but Kojiki is THE oldest. Oh well still a great story, in Kojiki amaterasu and her brother Tsukiyomi are born from the tears of izanagi one from both eyes (reference to the sun and moon) and Susanoo is born from izanagi's nose... Yeah the nose.
Btw susanoo was never cast out from the house of kami nor was he forced to cut his hair or beard. Though susanoo did go on a journey to redeem himself thus leading him to face orochi. By the way the kusanagi wasn't called kusanagi until a samurai renamed it such, the kusanagi had a longer harder to say name wich is Ane-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi.

That is culture. I like this version more, its the version of Kojiki, which is a way more colourful and friendly. The Nihon Shoki instead is the more factual one. I recomend to those who are loving this kind of things to take a look on that story too. Thank you for animating this.

and it can be related to the archetype of rulers that are related to birds of prey and sun, it's about sight and paying attention over the structure/culture and who can watch it over better (ya know, from leadership positions of those who "oversee" and when you're told by higher ranking or older people to "watch over" someone or something when it is being put to your care, keeping them alive and well like a parent does).

He had enough of being abused and acted out. And the other gods ganged up on him. His sister even cheated in their contest. Susanoo was in the right.
Not really he just said Amaterasu was supposed to rule heaven he never abused him. Susanoo acting out got gods killed. Other gods ganged up on him because they realize she was the right full ruler of heaven.
Amaterasu did not cheat on Susanoo in the contest. The contest part is not based on real mythology. Susanoo says, ``I have no rebellious heart, so three gentle daughters were born to me,'' and Amaterasu invites Susanoo into heaven. However, Susanoo commits violence in heaven. The gods are angry at Susanoo, but at first Amaterasu defends her younger brother Susanoo. However, when the weaver was killed, Amaterasu retreated into a rock. The rest of the story is just like the actual myth.
I’m not sure if this is true for Susanoo specifically but their are some Japanese Gods that don’t have a consistent gender. By that I mean in some stories they may be a God and in a different story they may be a Goddess. From story to story, myth to myth, some of their Deities don’t have a concrete gender because essentially no one could agree on some of them.
