I admire you guys that can crush the JMT in such a short time, but I wouldn't be able to do it. It's understandable though, when you're still working, you only have so much time to work with. I'm sure this trek has left you with great memories.😊
Planning on 23 this year. A few years ago we took 27. I know that’s a lot but it really lets you slow down and just enjoy your days without ever rushing for more miles!
I plan to do a 14 day itinerary as well, have a permit for June 28 out of Cottonwood Pass. I downloaded guthooks, but am wondering what else I should do for navigation (whether I need anything more). Did you bring paper maps as well? Use CalTopo or Gaia?
Way to camp right next to the water at 1000 Island lake. Supposed to be at least 100ft from water sources. Guthook doesn't care and it seems you don't either.
Actually Danny, if you rewatch the video we were high enough above the lake that we all had to get water at a different spot before camping. But thanks for the concern and the thoughtful comment
