I love you, Matt. I was that guy in the Hospital praying to God to just let me walk and talk again. After I learned to walk and talk, I wanted to learn to walk and talk well. I wanted to larn how to climb stairs and learn how to run. It's been 30 hard years since those days, and today, with God leading the way, I can walk, talk, climb stairs, and run. I'm also completely drug and alcohol free. I had some bad years in there wasting my life. I have been doing Construction Woodworking for most of those years. I recently decided to start building things out of wood. I think that I have a leg up on a lot of beginning woodworkers. Number 1. I have some experience. #2. I have a table saw, miter saw, good drills, and a little workspace in my garage. You're the best, and I'm glad that I found your channel. You motivated me to switch gears and stay busy.
    I AM A WOODWORKER
    Stay humble.

I was that...afraid to do it, wanted to for years. I ran across your videos about a year ago and you told me "I could do it". I took a chance and I cant believe all I can build a year later. Many things I've seen you build....I can do. Adventuring out to designing my own builds now. I've been self taught for many, many crafts in my life, and good at them but, woodworking is the most fulfilling. I'm hooked now Matt, have to make sawdust every single day. Love it. I thank you for telling me "I can do it". I believed you and now I am selling all I can put out there. Thank you Matt. Bless you!

Thank you so much for those encouraging words Matt. I love when the word says not to despise Small beginnings and in this video you illuminate the fact that Small beginnings can be as meaningful and prosperous as any other adventure we set out upon. I'm so excited to be improving my craft everyday and can't wait to build the meticulous projects that I know will bring warmth and all to many of those around me but in the meantime I'm going to enjoy the ride.

I just wanted to say I really appreciate your videos and what you do. Durring this pandemic shutdown we had just bought a house and I had just got married in march as everything closed. Well when that happened all our plans pretty much to date have been cancled. No concerts no sporting events no shows cant travel and go see places and I also coach high school baseball and that came screeching to a hault. Well around june I discovered your channel and became intrested in woodworking.
Soon after I decided I wanted to start making some the things you had made for my wife and our home. It started with a noodle board and then led to a end table and then a recliner end table. Since then I have loved being in my woodshop im bad to spend 12 plus hours a day in there i just enjoy it. Well this christmas I decided to build all the women of the family noodle boards. I felt like mine where nice and would make a good gift and i knew my grandmother and mother would love it because I made it.
Well right after christmas it was suggested to me that I start making noodle boards to sell. I liked the idea but I was nervous to make something for someone that wasnt family. Well January 1st I decdied to create my shops facebook page @w.millerwoodworks and also decided to create a Etsy page WMillerWoodWorks. When I first Posted I worried would anyone actualy buy anything and it took a few days but eventualy someone did.
Since January 1st I have had a total of 8 orders placed and im somewhat in disbelif over it. I delivered the first of one those orders the other day and I was scared to death they would hate it. I have since found out for me that feeling comes and goes with every order. What I really just wanted to say though is thank you for what you do if it wasnt for your channel I would never started wood working and found a new pasion and im very thankful for that.

I sat on my fear of woodworking for 25 years, I already knew I could do it but I just didn’t do it. One day I saw your channel and I went out and started and I been doing it now since October last year and I have been blessed every since, Christmas time was so busy for me I could hardly keep up! But to listen to this video I had to share this, I wanna help you encourage other fellow woodworkers out there to NOT GIVE UP, stay with it. By the way to sort of be like you big brother I call my business 229 working! Lol! Anyway I just wanted you to know, I love you brother, I’m praying for you and you family and the other first responders out there, keep em coming and God Bless you sir! 👍

I've been woodworking all my life ,off and on. It started when my father made me help him build some cabinets for our basement in the early 70's. My father was a dentist, and a very smart man. I enjoyed it and messed around making a few things, on my own. Later in my life I decided to pick it up again. (hobby). I finally got serious and made a few pieces that I consider "Family Heirlooms". They have been in my family 30+ years. I've been thinking of building and trying to sell some things. Your videos of your work has inspired my to try. This video sealed the deal and has given me the confidence to make me move forward with me Dream! Thank You so very much.

You are the Apostle of Woodworkers. Great motivational speech. Fear stops so much. I have shown things I made and my creative photography work to others. Some have asked, "how did you learn to do that?" I told them, "I said to myself, "I can do that, and did". Failure was not in my mind. I knew if I stuck with it, I would get better and better. When I was young, I was not a great student. In fact, I had learning disabilities. That didn't stop me because I wanted to be like the other kids. I kept trying and trying. Long story short, I eventually earned the highest grades in my group studying to be an Asst. Supt. of School Business. All A's. I couldn't believe it myself. If they only knew how badly I wrote wrote when I was young. I didn't get there overnight. It was a long road and a lot of effort, but I did. Now, I am self confident and believe I am as smart as anyone Nothing builds self confidence like success. Wood is something that provides immediate feedback. You know when you did a good job, and when you didn't. As you succeed, you move on to another and another and another success. Through wood you can become a different you! You're not just building something out of wood, you are building a new you. A you who everyone, including yourself, will respect, and maybe even love.

Thanks for the positive energy. Mistakes is one thing I take away from woodworking and life in general. If I didn’t make any mistakes I didn’t learn anything. Learning is good, so in turn mistakes aren’t always bad. I like to say if I can buy my way out of a mistake it isn’t that bad. Breaking a tool or ruining some wood is small change, in the grand scheme of life it won’t make much difference. Sometimes you need fuel for the camp fire or a new paper weight for your office desk anyway. You have to find the positives in every mistake and turn it from a negative into a positive. I had a pretty crappy day yesterday and this inspired me to go and build a project today. Thanks for all that you do Matt. You keep making em, and I’ll keep watching and commenting on em.

I too, am one who is just beginning my journey and sometimes I get discouraged because of my age (51 as of today) and listening to you helps me look past that. Thank you for this monolog it was very inspiring. I am a beginner and even though I stumble through all of my projects, I don't quit. I get frustrated but I don't quit. It may not turn out the way I envisioned, but I don't quit. The only way I can see for me to get better is to learn from my mistakes and not to quit. Fear is a lair and every time I start a project and see it to the end I prove that, not only to myself but to fear itself. I prove every time I start a project that fear will not get in my way. Thank you for reminding me of all of this, you are awesome!

I'm being trying to start building projects... and you are right, I sometimes just made excuses to not do it.. but when I come back to your chanel and watch you and your wife, I belive I can and I will... I made my first investment.. a miter saw and I build a table for my sons birthday party... I'm gonna keep building and I'll keep watching your videos and praying for me and you.. thanks for everything.

I just want to say thank you for the great, positive, and encouraging video. I've been doing this since April because Covid hit my Real Estate business hard and I've really been looking for a reason to get out of it. I'm not there yet but I can see a day when I do woodworking full-time and make a living out of it. You have been a tremendous help to me in answering questions and giving advice and that's what I love the most about the woodworking community of brothers and sisters.

Brother Matt, That was a great video. I do not watch any other woodworking channels, but I find myself drawn to watch all of your videos. I believe it's because you are a very humble down to earth person and people relate well to that. I also appreciate that you bring Christ into play on every video. That is absolutely amazing to me. It is wonderful how another Christian can open our eyes sometimes, I have been in business for 20 years and it has ALWAYS been a competition to survive. A very stressful one sometimes at that. After this video I will walk away with a completely different perspective on how I approach other woodworkers thanks to you and this video. Lesson learned and a huge thank you! Also a huge thank you to your family for helping make these videos great. You guys are all doing an amazing job.

These videos are great, I've only just started watching them but ive been marathoning them. After buying my own home I've learnt to do alot of work myself, I'm a training electrician so can wire up most things and had a good go at plumbing (it's just water lego after all).
But I have had a new urge to try actually building things, I started just putting skirting board on in my bedrooms upstairs but now it's turned into making floating shelves for the lounge and making a utility worktop for the garage.
I have a little collection of tools but I'm adding to a growing list thanks to watching all these youtube videos.
Thanks for spending my money and creating useful content.

Matt, this is a great video. It covers so much more than just woodworking. We all need to conquer the Goliaths in our life, and with Him in front, behind and beside us we will. I worked as a carpenter for 12 years professionally. Not a contractor, just a helping hand. Late in 2022 I built my first woodworking project, a wooden box for my daughter. She loves it. Today I made a handle for a wooden mallet I'm making. YES, mistakes were made however just a slight change of direction and it gets solved. I cannot WAIT until spring to make my wife a few wooden spoons. BTW, it was 29 degrees today in my garage workshop. Spring into next summer will bring some really cool projects I hope. So far I LOVE it!!!!
