  • I was surprised when I recently came across a 1985 video of the WeatherSTAR II (one of the generations of the overall WeatherSTAR 3000 system) because it broke so many preconceived rules I'd established for a WeatherSTAR 3000 local forecast over my 25 years of viewership.
This odd little flavor's screens are various lengths - some are :13, some are :12.5 and others are :12. Before this, I'd only seen local forecasts where each screens was timed in increments of :10 or :12...but never a varying combination within the same Local Forecast.
I'd never seen a Local Forecast total length end in an odd number before. This one has a run time of 1 minute 15 seconds.
This era also introduced the first Extended Forecast... it was originally only one page, before becoming a more in depth two page report from 1986 to 1993. In 1993, it would become a simplified single page 3 day chart.
    Music unknown.
