- Watch the Darkest Dungeon 2: Kingdoms trailer for this new update for the RPG roguelike. Kingdoms is a new game mode available now in Darkest Dungeons 2 on PC and Mac, with consoles to follow at a later date. Kingdoms features a completely reimagined game structure and is a parallel game experience to the original Confessions game mode.
In Kingdoms, you are tasked with defending the realm from incursions by all-new enemy-factions. Journey across the land in your stagecoach, upgrade your Inns, complete quests, and defeat the final boss.
Kingdoms will feature themed adventure modules, each containing a different threat. Up first is Hunger of the Beast Clan, where you will be tasked with fending off the pitiless onslaught of the rotting and ravenous beastmen! Two more adventure modules are planned for release in 2025.

@@rikyb3242 stay on top of your ability upgrades. Try and get around to upgrading at least a good few on every character before the 1st escalation. Also trinkets are still pretty important.
Also while they're important, you don't reaally need to worry aboit sieges. As long as the inn has a couple heroes and defender upgrades it should be fine for a while until the next escalation.

The sequel is legit an amazing game. People unfairly compare it too much to the first game which was different in a variety of ways.
Well a sequel will always be directly compared to its predecessor no matter how similar or different they are. Both games are amazing for different reasons, and some of 2’s strong suits are missing from 1 and some of 1’s missing from 2’s. It’s not bad to compare as long as you don’t take it too far
When you put a number after your name, it's fair for people to expect a very similar game. They made the same mistake with dawn of war. I was very disapointed with the DD2. Low chance they get my money for another game.

To me, Darkest Dungeon 1 was much better. I don't like the stagecoach, the vibe feels a bit off. I liked the dungeon vibe in the first game.
I’m the complete opposite. I hated traveling through the rooms in dd1 just to go all the way back because of dead ends.
Fully agree, DD1 is a perfect game, DD2 is casual BS, even June Wane does not sound so epic here(

Lets get serious: dd2 is way better than dd1:
-less repetitive gameplay
-paths instead of overly relaying on trinkets
-got kingdoms which is dd1 but way better
-all the animations are better
-a ton of new systems which are insane
The only bad things i think about dd2 is that some heros suck (too much text and brain power to think how to sinergise,and i like complex things),the new heros suck and i miss the dd1 dlcs (and heros),like: shieldbreaker,houndmaster,especially the Musketeer,but i will not complain about it,as i was worried about the flagellant,but he made into dd2.

New mechanic is rather than a rouge like it’s more of a campaign where you roam around your kingdom completing quest steps and stopping sieges from destroying Inns.

I loved the ones in the first game, it's a shame this one is harder to mod though...

The Wexxo team is building something special in gaming.
Wexxo’s presale has attracted tons of attention for good reason.
This looks no different than DD2. Still just driving the coach around but you're not going straight. Its a free expansion because Im sure they knew no one would buy it. I feel they are still trying to make up losses for DD2. If they simply followed the DD1 formula but expanded on it, like multiple levels to dungeons - secret escape routes etc it would of exploded.
DD2 was a financial success but aight. Red Hook didn't wanna just keep doing the same thing. I absolutely adore DD1, definitely more than DD2, but DD2 is not a bad game in the slightest it's just different

this is a trailer for a big free update dude, and it shows a decent amount of gameplay despite not being a "gameplay trailer". literally shows combat with new enemies and friendlies, traveling, the map and the inns. what else do you want from a launch trailer

Its literally just truncated DD2 gameplay with a miniscule amount of DD1 city building thrown in. As a fan of DD1 (more than a thousand hours played) over DD2, it's lazy and not impressive. Also not sure why it took them months to get this out. Speaking as a hardcore DD1 fan, I wanted the DD1 experience with a fresh coat of paint and this is just more DD2. I guess having multiple versions of the same hero and walking was too difficult to code.
big surprise the dd2 update is dd2 and not dd1. Red Hook has been upfront from the announcement of this update that it is not dd1 in dd2, it's dd2 with some dd1 elements (hero roster, "citybuilding")
