Just built this on a build server. Everything still works and places correctly if you do it in the right order, including the dis connectable TC's, bunkers and raised foundations. After the patch. Still one of my favorite builds ever from ya Dust
I just tried building this two days ago on a real server as per his instructions and the triangle roof parts to climb up in the shell can no longer be placed (where the shell turrets on main level are placed). Tried 3-4 different ways to get the triangle roofs places and they won't work. pretty sure it is because of the door frames that are places to hold up the triangle floors above. EDIT: messed up placement of door frames... Make sure you place door frames on the side of the triangle that eventually faces the gatehouse, not the side that faces the external bed pods.
@@kakoponceeAfter rewatching that section of the video 5 times, I figured it out, he does it really fast but the door frame he places is not on the side of the triangle foundation that is facing out from the base towards the eventual bed pods, but the side of the triangle that eventually faces the gatehouse. So ultimately it is my bad just the way he filmed it I missed the placement. I just don't have roof triangles as ramps and I put furnaces on the ground in each area as my foundations are higher on this particular build. Base is great, but need to practice with external walls so I have room for a large planter box.
For those that don't have the "Adobe skin" and having issues with the Shooting floor peaks being closed off by roof tiles , just use a floor tile there and u will have extra storage space below the tile and can put 2 beds on top of it on both sides ( U have to make the roof tiles extending outwards from the half walls later if u want to put two beds) Also, U can move the Spawn cabins One foundation further if u want a bigger compound that can hold large furnaces or just bigger compound in general Great base at this build cost !

I haven't gone beyond the early 1st expansion so far, because I keep getting raided, as is Rust. But the instructions already had me learn much about building an sich. Many thanks for this vid!
I followed the instructions and did your design in all sheet metal and HQ, I have been raided 3 times so far on hardcore official server, 1) just a large wood wall missing, 2) raided from the top- a garage door missing they used ladders and somehow broke both turrets, I had one top bunker open (oops) 3) The latest raid, I logged on and the whole side of base was blasted through as they got center TC, furnace room & box, but they did not get the 6 boxes loot room or the two bunkers on roof. Easy repair, mostly doors, a triangle foundation, a large wood wall, 2 normal sheet metal walls and 3 turrets to replace. I was using industrial stuff to feed TC's and kept the TC mostly empty. This is a very nice design, Its a bit tricky to build unless you do it all at one go since some of the foundation triangles decay until the outer TC's are built. This is my new best'ee. Thanks.
@@voidinqrust Yeah what the hell people are obsessing over this build, those top bunkers are so cheap to raid? How would you do it by the way? Land on the roof and go top down on bunkers up top and then separate entry if you want TC>
@@voidinqrust This is a solo/duo base. Even trios will rarely use 20-25 rockets, if you're defending against a quad+ your chances as a solo are slim to none no matter the solo base design. Let's keep in mind that 95% of raids are offline as well, maybe you'd be online to defend your base 1/20 times.
add some hqm vending bunkers on roof aswell to make it even more expensive and beef up the externals so it’s more than 7 rockets to take them over so they can’t just get building priv to open them.

Bro. I'm seriously so impressed with your building. I usually build incredibly efficient mostly because I barely have the time to farm for these huge bases without literally just doing that for the wipe, but you're innovations are so great for the majority of rust players (who are playing in small groups and have jobs). I really hope you end up HUGE man. As a side note have you ever thought of doing a collab with gamelightz? He builds very similar to you (albeit much more complicated for new rust players), but I can imagine the 2 of you together would build the smallest base possible that even zergs wouldn't wanna touch. Keep up the good work friend.
YES! Ive been running the duos den with my own changes for the last few wipes! the bunkers so far are 10-0 Win to both offlines and onlines!!! This right here tho.....This is what I needed. Keep up the solid work my man!!!!!
I've offically played 2 full wipes out of this Base, I love the base for cost and size , fits a trio pretty comfortably with some movement of some of the placeables. 2 issues. 1. I had with this base is when getting raided you have that 50/50 chance they blow down a portion of the bunker (My luck it happened all 3 raids for me) luckily the turrets hold raiders back well. 2. when defending a online raid while on roof, if you die, weapons seem to fall down the slants, through the gaps into the compound almost EVERY time, that isnt a problem when you have a couple kits in bed room, but if you and a teammate both die a couple times , you are now racing to find a weapon in a lower locker/box. overall GREAT build, successfully defended 2 online raids, and self defended 1 offline, just the personal issues i had with it.
Dude I loved this base so much that I had to make some changes to accommodate for our medium group, I expanded the core to a 2x2 and kept the same formula for the design and what I got was so amazing. I was able to get 4 bunkers and tc gapped the gate houses with 2 more bedrooms. I’m able to house our 6-8 man with amazing defense. Great job dude it really inspired me
I did the same. Loved the look of the 2x2 starter. Any tips on getting the gate houses set up? I am having trouble getting the foundations even off the raised foundations at 14:44.
Fun to build, fun to live out of, and easy to maintain. As a newer Rust player, most of the compound / shooting floor type builds out there are just unreasonably complex for my ability and play style. Nailed this build the first try on a 3x server and just got the starter down on my monthly. Love this base!
FYI as of the newest building skin update, the shipping container skin works the same as the adobe skin for the triangle roof pieces in the mobility sections
Definitely using this build next time I get a chance to play. Love the offline protection of the additional bunkers and the sneaky turret peaks. Great build.
For those hard to place turrets at 10:23 you can just upgrade one of the roofs to metal, place the turret, and then upgrade the other one to metal to fix the join. Great base.
Actually @Dust I have been building this, and at 10:57 the bunker vending machine palcement is funky. It is the right way to fit both of them, but the right vending machine is lootable when destroying the sheet wall frame on the right side.
Building this right now. I messed up with the first set of peeks on opposite sides. I ended up having to use the triangle hatch section on both and it still worked out pretty good

Used this base on a quad server as a solo and got offlined, they splashed through the stone gate and woodwall then they hit the armored wall where the TC was and went to my 6 box lootroom, but didn't have enough boom or didn't know about the vending machine bunkers. They took down my turrets pretty fast because i was dumb enough to put my smart switches in TC room.
Only down side of this vid is the breach peaks they wont work unless you have the skin set i think the way i fixed it was i put a ramp and then another triangle over the ramp so i could still jump up to to the windows
Hey Dust, I just built this base and it's pretty awesome. I don't have much time to play, so even this efficient and relatively cheap base is too much work for me, but I'm defintely going to try building your Nomad base, I think that's probably more my size. Love your stuff.

I think one of the most underrated things about this design is the small compound. I've been leaning towards compound-less bases now that its not as needed for large furnaces. However I don't like having my front doors immediately exposed... but Compounds are easy for grubs to hide behind. HOWEVER, this base has a small enough compound, with the reverse roofs peaking a bit over the walls, you can clear grubs or people trying to Hide decently well out there. A++ Dust, will build this for sure.
The compounding is expensive resources for no extra protection for your TC / loot. I am still not a fan. This base is super cheap to raid for the resources it has. It's super intelligently laid out otherwise, especially those sexy turrets and thoughtful angles. I prefer still to devote all my resource to actual honeycombing though. Have you tried HBHF sensors tied to a siren / alarm system so you know if someone is at your door?
Used this base twice now. Works wonders. The only thing I would modify is to somehow separate the roof from the shooting floor as there is no real way to take heli (for example) as you are entirely exposed vertically. Also means that some perfectly placed mlrs rockets could completely cripple your angles giving you only compound peeks to rely on. Another thing which is more of an after thought, but the base doesn't really compensate furnaces early on. I have been using the gap behind the t3 as temporary furnace holders until I get battery down. Other than that the base is a piece of art.
Hey, really nice base, but there’s one base that I and my group really enjoyed, “The Saber” you made the tutorial a year ago and if you could make something similar to that base, but just bigger and stronger, that would be awesome, we use the saber for all of our wipes and having a bigger and stronger one would be awesome, but keep up the good work with these nice bases!
This is an awesome base! Really loved it i customized the base a little due to terrain issues but it was super good me and a friend got onlined it was a 2v4 and we won it barely super cool keep it up!
Can’t wait to try this! I’ve gotten so established on my server with your Duo’s Den base that I don’t ever close my doors. People have yet to successfully reach beyond the first set of doors where the turrets sit. Granted, I’m on a server that only allows offlines between noon and 8pm, so I can be guaranteed to be online during most raids. Still, I’ve held it 1v6!

@@dustgg yo some of it decays the 2 triangles u upgrade at 7:47 and 7:50 are decaying for me i have externals but they are kinda wrong because of terrian. one of them has a half wall to connect it and the frame is at the top of the window not in the middle does that matter?
This is a great video. Clear, understandable, doesn't rely on complicated build steps so you can build on uneven terrain. This is really good. I'm excited to try it out.
Very unique base design. I really enjoyed building it, Thank you. I'd say forget the whole wooden door frame chopping. Just finish the top of the jump up in stone. It's not that much more stone considering the starting cost is already extremely low.

Struggling to get the bunker working on console had to change the roof in front of the bunker a little but I got it working looks great very cheap to upkeep warning tho this is not the base to build if you plan to do any raiding or play for more then a few days it's box storage is very limited I have managed to build this as a raid base while my enemy was offline worked great they pooped the pants when they log on to this beast
So I wanted to comment again on this video since I tried this out and wanted to write my experience. It's the least I can do given the good content you pump out. Like I said in my original comment, easy to follow instructions and great video. I found myself duoing with someone I picked up in game and quickly started building this without practicing because I didn't plan ahead of time to duo. The clear and easy to follow video made it really easy to put down without practicing on a build server. It's a good concept, but it needs a V2 from my perspective or maybe it's just flawed. I built this on solo / duo and it got offlined within 9 hours of building it. So let me just say up front, I wasn't able to follow the stages exactly in terms on upgrading the whole base to metal. I would say I built all the way up to 11:24 in the video out of stone and some parts metal and skipped past the third floor part to seal the bottom of the base more. I wasn't sure if I could continue building after 11:24 in the video because I didn't have the vending machines so i stopped there. Like I said, didn't practice on a build server first. My fault. The TC room was all metal. Embrasures were down. So in summary I had externals up, first and second floor were fully built with the enclosed doors, etc. I'd like to say that's where I went wrong but it didn't really matter, they blew through straight to TC. The main faults to me and discussion with others I invited to come look on the server after coming online and being raided are that it's way too easy to offline. It's one wall to core regardless of it being HQM. I've built your nomad on this server and have had people blow into the two walls of metal on the side next to TC until they were on the second floor then blow through two floors of HQM. First they blew through the HQM loot bunker floor and gave up on trying to break the vending machines. Then blew through the cupboard floor HQM. So you can imagine how dedicated some of the raiders are here to get loot and it's a duo / solo server, low pop so they can take their time. Even so with the nomad I was able to recover and successfully defended an online. From my perspective unlike the nomad this is just way too easy to offline at every step. I'm assuming you have to have the turrets up for this to have some protection and I don't feel like there is a good point where you can leave the base at a certain point to take a break. I seems like you got to build the whole thing in one session which for a duo or solo is very hard to do. I agree the build cost is low, but it feels difficult to build if you got to do it all in one session. The starter airlock being wood to me is an easy online so I felt like I needed to rapidly build out the whole footprint quicky to make it more doors to TC. This wasn't BP wipe and we already had our temp base with 2 metal doors blew into within 2 hours of putting it down. There is no bunker in the TC which I think is a problem. With the nomad it's quick and cheap enough to skip the wood stage and just quickly build the bunker, seal it then get some down time. I feel like this needs a bunker for the TC room from the start. I'm going to need to experiment on a build server to see if I can build one onto this design or not. Maybe it's better to just build the jump up from the beginning too because there's not enough storage to just have the 1x1 starter. The base requires a lot of auto turrets and I feel this base just doesn't provide enough protection without them. I think you would need at least two from the get go to secure the walls otherwise it's just too easy to blow into. These are my initial thoughts with no practice on a build server, having limited resources to upgrade properly, etc because I was rushing to put something down. I like the concept so I will try it out some more I think on a build server first to see if I have can tailor it more to something that works on the server I play. I have a feeling I would be better if the stages were swapped around. So build out the footprint including the gate houses first to make it more secure from ground level then building up. Maybe that would disincentivize people to try and raid it as well as provide a little more protection around the base. Question about the chain-link being wood. Doesn't it make flame raiding easier? Seems like not a good idea, so it means you got to keep wood in the TC?
After practicing more on a build server I think my mistake was to not build the top bunkers completely and just put my good stuff in there. After testing it out you can place the vending machines after building so it makes more sense to me to build everything out as quickly as possible up to getting the bunkers down and just using them right away even without the vending machines. That was pretty much make or break for me this wipe having everything taken from TC room. I don't really understand the point of why HQ the bunker wall because can't just break the other wall on the jump up instead and still loot the vending mechines?
Insane base mate as always! Can't wait to try this but I was looking to miss the next couple of wipes to play Diablo 4. Just had a monthly wipe using your duos den, absolute beast of a base. Lasted the month with 2 offlines and a semi online, they used full MLRS on the base and as I returned they bailed in their mini xD Play vanilla solo only and I have 24 large boxes full of loot and guns - completed everysingle BP very fast so safe to say, great success!
just built this base last night but made a few adjustments to the compound and the roof, it's turned out amazing!! managed to fit an extra 2 windmills and 2 turrets. let me know if you want to see the end result as I ain't got a clue how to post it on here 😅
I just played a wipe out of this base and it was awesome. I played in a 3 man, and at first it felt too tight, but once we started utilizing the compound more for deployables and added some automation and dropboxes we got very comfortable with it. With it being so small and cheap to build, we got to roaming very quickly and never had to stop because we had to work on the base. All the peaks are super strong, and the turrets...the turrets always brought a smile to my face. Seriously, fantastic base. Before this we were using a modified version of the raptor by secret, and I wonder if there's a cross between the two that could exist for slightly larger groups (4-6 man). The 2x1 core and internal bedrooms of the raptor, with the peaks and easy compact compound of the utopian. The bunkers are basically identical with the hexagon layout, but the raptor doesn't have ground floor breach peaks and the peaks throughout the rest of the base leave a lot to be desired, so this was a breath of fresh air
Thank you Dust for that design! I built it in several wipes now (as a solo) and I got raided only once when it wasn't finished. People seem to have no idea how to raid it and don't want to be bothered. Its fantastic :D
Couple of things ive learned from using this #1 heli is hard as hell cause the rockets basically cover the roof and #2 if your defending from the adobe roof peaks and die your gun and or body can slide to the bottom and onto the ground below
That's a beast of a base, my first build like this was spinkys katan base, this one seems a bit easier to get down without losing much raid cost if any
i put ramps ontop of the top turrets, as well as infront of them, for the splash coverage, also putting on a garage door to cover the turrets from snipes, HBHF sensors opening them
Love the design. Easy and fun to live in, great peeks and turret coverage and I love the double bunkers. On the double bunkers though.. after being raided they're impossible to place back unless you destroy that little roof tile that's connected to the external TC right above the bunker. So definitely don't do what I did and make it HQM. You live and you learn :P Will still always be checking for the newest solo/duo builds from you Dust. This one is basically perfect except for that little rebuild issue. Keep up the great work
i love everything about these bases with all the external tcs and wide gaps but i find it really hard to build as in game you need the best building locations that are flat

Used this base on a quad server as a solo and got offlined, they splashed through the stone gate and woodwall then they hit the armored wall where the TC was and went to my 6 box lootroom, but didn't have enough boom or didn't know about the vending machine bunkers. They took down my turrets pretty fast because i was dumb enough to put my smart switches in TC room.
Bunkers did what they're were meant to do!
Only down side of this vid is the breach peaks they wont work unless you have the skin set i think the way i fixed it was i put a ramp and then another triangle over the ramp so i could still jump up to to the windows
Hey Dust, I just built this base and it's pretty awesome. I don't have much time to play, so even this efficient and relatively cheap base is too much work for me, but I'm defintely going to try building your Nomad base, I think that's probably more my size. Love your stuff.

I think one of the most underrated things about this design is the small compound. I've been leaning towards compound-less bases now that its not as needed for large furnaces. However I don't like having my front doors immediately exposed... but Compounds are easy for grubs to hide behind. HOWEVER, this base has a small enough compound, with the reverse roofs peaking a bit over the walls, you can clear grubs or people trying to Hide decently well out there. A++ Dust, will build this for sure.
The compounding is expensive resources for no extra protection for your TC / loot. I am still not a fan. This base is super cheap to raid for the resources it has. It's super intelligently laid out otherwise, especially those sexy turrets and thoughtful angles. I prefer still to devote all my resource to actual honeycombing though. Have you tried HBHF sensors tied to a siren / alarm system so you know if someone is at your door?
Used this base twice now. Works wonders. The only thing I would modify is to somehow separate the roof from the shooting floor as there is no real way to take heli (for example) as you are entirely exposed vertically. Also means that some perfectly placed mlrs rockets could completely cripple your angles giving you only compound peeks to rely on. Another thing which is more of an after thought, but the base doesn't really compensate furnaces early on. I have been using the gap behind the t3 as temporary furnace holders until I get battery down. Other than that the base is a piece of art.
how did you deal with the triangle foundations decaying

Hey, really nice base, but there’s one base that I and my group really enjoyed, “The Saber” you made the tutorial a year ago and if you could make something similar to that base, but just bigger and stronger, that would be awesome, we use the saber for all of our wipes and having a bigger and stronger one would be awesome, but keep up the good work with these nice bases!

This is an awesome base! Really loved it i customized the base a little due to terrain issues but it was super good me and a friend got onlined it was a 2v4 and we won it barely super cool keep it up!
Can’t wait to try this! I’ve gotten so established on my server with your Duo’s Den base that I don’t ever close my doors. People have yet to successfully reach beyond the first set of doors where the turrets sit. Granted, I’m on a server that only allows offlines between noon and 8pm, so I can be guaranteed to be online during most raids. Still, I’ve held it 1v6!

@@dustgg yo some of it decays the 2 triangles u upgrade at 7:47 and 7:50 are decaying for me i have externals but they are kinda wrong because of terrian. one of them has a half wall to connect it and the frame is at the top of the window not in the middle does that matter?

Very unique base design. I really enjoyed building it, Thank you. I'd say forget the whole wooden door frame chopping. Just finish the top of the jump up in stone. It's not that much more stone considering the starting cost is already extremely low.

Struggling to get the bunker working on console had to change the roof in front of the bunker a little but I got it working looks great very cheap to upkeep warning tho this is not the base to build if you plan to do any raiding or play for more then a few days it's box storage is very limited I have managed to build this as a raid base while my enemy was offline worked great they pooped the pants when they log on to this beast

So I wanted to comment again on this video since I tried this out and wanted to write my experience. It's the least I can do given the good content you pump out. Like I said in my original comment, easy to follow instructions and great video. I found myself duoing with someone I picked up in game and quickly started building this without practicing because I didn't plan ahead of time to duo. The clear and easy to follow video made it really easy to put down without practicing on a build server.
It's a good concept, but it needs a V2 from my perspective or maybe it's just flawed. I built this on solo / duo and it got offlined within 9 hours of building it. So let me just say up front, I wasn't able to follow the stages exactly in terms on upgrading the whole base to metal. I would say I built all the way up to 11:24 in the video out of stone and some parts metal and skipped past the third floor part to seal the bottom of the base more. I wasn't sure if I could continue building after 11:24 in the video because I didn't have the vending machines so i stopped there. Like I said, didn't practice on a build server first. My fault. The TC room was all metal. Embrasures were down. So in summary I had externals up, first and second floor were fully built with the enclosed doors, etc. I'd like to say that's where I went wrong but it didn't really matter, they blew through straight to TC.
The main faults to me and discussion with others I invited to come look on the server after coming online and being raided are that it's way too easy to offline. It's one wall to core regardless of it being HQM. I've built your nomad on this server and have had people blow into the two walls of metal on the side next to TC until they were on the second floor then blow through two floors of HQM. First they blew through the HQM loot bunker floor and gave up on trying to break the vending machines. Then blew through the cupboard floor HQM. So you can imagine how dedicated some of the raiders are here to get loot and it's a duo / solo server, low pop so they can take their time. Even so with the nomad I was able to recover and successfully defended an online.
From my perspective unlike the nomad this is just way too easy to offline at every step. I'm assuming you have to have the turrets up for this to have some protection and I don't feel like there is a good point where you can leave the base at a certain point to take a break. I seems like you got to build the whole thing in one session which for a duo or solo is very hard to do. I agree the build cost is low, but it feels difficult to build if you got to do it all in one session.
The starter airlock being wood to me is an easy online so I felt like I needed to rapidly build out the whole footprint quicky to make it more doors to TC. This wasn't BP wipe and we already had our temp base with 2 metal doors blew into within 2 hours of putting it down.
There is no bunker in the TC which I think is a problem. With the nomad it's quick and cheap enough to skip the wood stage and just quickly build the bunker, seal it then get some down time. I feel like this needs a bunker for the TC room from the start. I'm going to need to experiment on a build server to see if I can build one onto this design or not. Maybe it's better to just build the jump up from the beginning too because there's not enough storage to just have the 1x1 starter.
The base requires a lot of auto turrets and I feel this base just doesn't provide enough protection without them. I think you would need at least two from the get go to secure the walls otherwise it's just too easy to blow into.
These are my initial thoughts with no practice on a build server, having limited resources to upgrade properly, etc because I was rushing to put something down. I like the concept so I will try it out some more I think on a build server first to see if I have can tailor it more to something that works on the server I play. I have a feeling I would be better if the stages were swapped around. So build out the footprint including the gate houses first to make it more secure from ground level then building up. Maybe that would disincentivize people to try and raid it as well as provide a little more protection around the base.
Question about the chain-link being wood. Doesn't it make flame raiding easier? Seems like not a good idea, so it means you got to keep wood in the TC?
After practicing more on a build server I think my mistake was to not build the top bunkers completely and just put my good stuff in there. After testing it out you can place the vending machines after building so it makes more sense to me to build everything out as quickly as possible up to getting the bunkers down and just using them right away even without the vending machines. That was pretty much make or break for me this wipe having everything taken from TC room.
I don't really understand the point of why HQ the bunker wall because can't just break the other wall on the jump up instead and still loot the vending mechines?

Insane base mate as always! Can't wait to try this but I was looking to miss the next couple of wipes to play Diablo 4. Just had a monthly wipe using your duos den, absolute beast of a base. Lasted the month with 2 offlines and a semi online, they used full MLRS on the base and as I returned they bailed in their mini xD
Play vanilla solo only and I have 24 large boxes full of loot and guns - completed everysingle BP very fast so safe to say, great success!

Such an amazing build and so easy to follow. This is the first compound I felt is entirely manageable as a solo
just built this base last night but made a few adjustments to the compound and the roof, it's turned out amazing!! managed to fit an extra 2 windmills and 2 turrets. let me know if you want to see the end result as I ain't got a clue how to post it on here 😅

I just played a wipe out of this base and it was awesome. I played in a 3 man, and at first it felt too tight, but once we started utilizing the compound more for deployables and added some automation and dropboxes we got very comfortable with it. With it being so small and cheap to build, we got to roaming very quickly and never had to stop because we had to work on the base. All the peaks are super strong, and the turrets...the turrets always brought a smile to my face. Seriously, fantastic base.
Before this we were using a modified version of the raptor by secret, and I wonder if there's a cross between the two that could exist for slightly larger groups (4-6 man). The 2x1 core and internal bedrooms of the raptor, with the peaks and easy compact compound of the utopian. The bunkers are basically identical with the hexagon layout, but the raptor doesn't have ground floor breach peaks and the peaks throughout the rest of the base leave a lot to be desired, so this was a breath of fresh air

I built it in several wipes now (as a solo) and I got raided only once when it wasn't finished. People seem to have no idea how to raid it and don't want to be bothered. Its fantastic :D
Couple of things ive learned from using this #1 heli is hard as hell cause the rockets basically cover the roof and #2 if your defending from the adobe roof peaks and die your gun and or body can slide to the bottom and onto the ground below

That's a beast of a base, my first build like this was spinkys katan base, this one seems a bit easier to get down without losing much raid cost if any
Idk how I made the base wrong but it doesn't let me put the roof triangles down at 9:50
i put ramps ontop of the top turrets, as well as infront of them, for the splash coverage, also putting on a garage door to cover the turrets from snipes, HBHF sensors opening them
Love the design. Easy and fun to live in, great peeks and turret coverage and I love the double bunkers.
On the double bunkers though.. after being raided they're impossible to place back unless you destroy that little roof tile that's connected to the external TC right above the bunker. So definitely don't do what I did and make it HQM. You live and you learn :P
Will still always be checking for the newest solo/duo builds from you Dust. This one is basically perfect except for that little rebuild issue. Keep up the great work

i love everything about these bases with all the external tcs and wide gaps but i find it really hard to build as in game you need the best building locations that are flat
