Nowadays when you think is a sohari leaf you eating on is a plastic sohari leaf. I went to a prayers and when I asked why they put the food on plastic leaf they told me the real thing is too expensive and is too much trouble to prepare.

I remember attending Indian weddings and eating on those leaves but we called them fig leaves.
