    Which of these solutions do you think is the one that could save El Alamein?
    More Cover? A rework of the paths? SECRET TUNNELS? A Night Version? Sandstorms?
    Eager to hear, what people think :)

    • @matzitiD
      @matzitiD ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tunnels would be great. I fear sandstorms will lower the performance even more. The developer should create more cover with more different height differences.

    For a proper El Alamein with visibility-infuenced weather effects I guess we will need to just wait for Resolve. HLL would need to be overhauled from ground up in many its areas of the game for such kinds of map to work (sector behavior, gamemodes rules and gunplay as the 1st stuff imo).
    Same goes for HLL river maps.

    • @BergBergBerg
      @BergBergBerg  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I still have the hope, that they can somehow "fake" a weather system. Would it be grand an amazing? No.
      But surely we could at least get something, that would improve the quality and yet not ruin the 'immersion' on El Alamein.

    Using half-tracks to move around can work quite well, I wish there were closed-roof versions so MGs can't spray in and kill your squad or get picked off by snipers, but moving along the high ground and avoiding the low valleys can solve this, but you have to be lucky enough not to get spotted by an enemy tank along the way. There also needs to be enough of them on the field to use effectively, not just one, but more like 3-4 minimum or so squads can actually use them and advance and not be expected to be permanently anchored as a team garrison. One of my first games on Al Alamein was as the Germans where I drove a half-track through a hail of bullets to reach our first defensive capture point in a village allowing the team to spawn and then counter-attacking to win the middle point from there. I don't know their fuel costs, so I can't say whether this limits their use by taking away from tanks.

    Smoke grenades/artillery shells would do wonders to reduce visibility in all weather conditions and be historically accurate.

    • @BergBergBerg
      @BergBergBerg  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't sadly work most of the time. Even if you somehow manage to spread the smoke across the whole valley.
      You get some smoke up and the many, many MGs and others that stay in the hills fire blindly into the smoke.
      Was also one of the problems people had in the responses.

    • @britishmystic
      @britishmystic ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BergBergBerg The developers need to address areas like ammunition in the game, having machine gunners with unlimited ammunition through respawns means they can fire all day in most instances. But say for example we had something like first mg spawn = full ammo, second, respawn = reduced ammo, third = reduce it even more... replenish through support, ammunition drop power or ammo dropped from the jeep (ammo should also be in the supply trucks also) and after say 5 deaths every player gets full ammo back regardless - or we need over-heating barrels, which would apply more to Germans and give the British air-cooled MGs more of an advantage in this regard. I'm not even sure the MG42 was used in North Africa? The MG34 would be more on par with the Lewis machine gun in terms of map balance.

    I dont understand the performance issues. Battlefield 1 for instance (Arcade style aside), beautiful maps, amazing lighting and flowers look like flowers. Trees actually look like Trees, explosions hit HARD, buildings crumble and.....it was released in 2016. It works AMAZING on a majority of gaming pcs woth no fps drops.
    Why are we all still having this discussion about performance issues. It takes 6 months to change run speed only to change it back again and equally as long to make copy paste maps. 😂😂😂

    • @BergBergBerg
      @BergBergBerg  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Same with Enlisted and its huge yet beautiful maps. Then again, both games come from studios with developers that have done this 'scale' and optimization before. My best guess would be, that the bare-bones / basic structure of this game is just not that well optimized. At least that would be one reason I could see being a thing.
