- www.thelawbank.co.uk - The second video looking at Occupiers Liability. This video focuses on the Occupiers Liability Act 1957 - the statute designed to deal with the statutory duty of care that should be given to lawful visitors. It examines the development of the duty, discharging the duty, defences and remedies.
I have an exam tomorrow and the you have explained this will help no end. Thank You 😊
I like to visit "The Law Bank" video for learning law subjects.
Apologies if this has changed since the making of this video (and that change has gone unnoticed by me) but I believe at 1:50 in the video where you give the standard of care required in the 57 statue, this is actually to be found in S2(2) rather than S2(1) as stated in the video. Just thought I'd point that out in case anyone was a bit confused like me!!

Does this apply if a pedestrian is walking along a public footpath adjacent to a building site and is then struck by a structure e.g scaffolding, fencing, hoarding etc ? Would the pedestrian be considered a (lawful) visitor?
