Before cruising, insist, INSIST to your room steward that you want the filters replaced in your stateroom's ventilation ducts. If not, you're likely breathing in the germs of those guests that stayed in that room last cruise! They won't want to change them. They may make excuses that the filters were just changed. INSIST that they replace them with new immediately!
@Muddicker No, because, in a shopping center, I'm not spending extended time and sleeping in a small closed in room where there's one ventilation duct.
They will just change them for any old filters, just to keep you Happy,, filters from another cabin, maybe even more contaminated,, but you'll be Happy 😊 😊
Wow some click bait - who woulda guessed. MSC Seaside isn't in the top 10 or even top 20 - it's ranked 39th (tied with MSC Seaview) and smaller than ships built 10 YEARS before it. Couldn't you have at least gone with the largest MSC ship - the World Europa (given Royal Caribbean holds the top 7 spots)?
This is certainly informative to the millions of people thar have no clue as to how cruise ships work on a daily basis. As a 33-year retired naval master chief petty officer who had a great career serving on aircraft carriers working in gigantic galleys of the largest aircraft carriers, it was fun as provided great chow to my fellow sailors and marines as well as their families during holidays and celebrations.
I legitimately thought that gray water was flushed out of the ship below the waterline directly into the ocean as the vessel moved along. I'm glad to learn that I was wrong and that there is actually proper shore-side disposal for all of that waste.

May want to change the title to reflect that this is not the "largest cruise ship ever constructed". It's Royal Carribean's Icon of the Seas, currently the largest cruise ship in the world. Since this was released a month ago, I'm wondering how up-to-date this channel is. The MSC Seaside launched in 2016 and the Icon of the Seas launched in 2022, that's a 5-6 years difference.
It's easy to tell that the order to cooperate with this documentary production was given to the heads of the ship's departments from the management of the cruise line. Life is more difficult for the majority of the crew than what this suggests.
been on two royal caribbean oasis class.. they are half again bigger MSC SEASIDE Seaside-class cruise ship Tonnage 153,516 GT, Length 323 m (1,060 ft), Beam 41 m (135 ft) ROYAL CARIBBEAN Oasis-class cruise ship Tonnage 226,838 GT, Length 361.8 m (1,187 ft) overall, Beam 47 m (154 ft) waterline/ 64.9 m (213 ft) max beam
Lol what? the MSC seaside is only the 37th largest cruise ship according to wikipedia. MSC's largest ship is the ruopa ranking 8th world's largest. Even at seaside's maiden voyage in 2016 it wasn't the largest cruise ship. Wth is that??
its Awe inspiring. But somehow i feel so much cargo and food movement is soo labour intensive. Is it worth all this I dnt know. Carbon footprint of all the food loaded in the ship. The condition of people carrying those huge carts of luggage ...
What happened to the production team? Someone was drunk while posting this documentary? Or didn't get Royal Caribbean sponsored for creating the real Largest cruise ship in the world?
Not even close to the largest cruise ship! It's tiny in comparison to Icon of the Seas 248,000+ gross tons, or any Oasis class ships from Royal Carribean, Even when it was built it never held that status
You ever seen a real kitchen? Not fast food. Gloves really do not help in most situations. You need to change gloves so often to avoid cross contamination that it is easier and better to wash your hands. 😎
No one cares it's only about money. EVs are ok because money and this is good because money. When EVs stop selling gas and diesel will be ok because of money.
Garbage handling is first rate if 80% is recycled. Feeding scrap food to sea life is totally cutting edge. Its less than 20 years since marine experts determined that the seas and oceans are starving, at all levels of the food chain. Those experts have recommended that coastal cities separate food waste from their garbage in order to feed the fish. There are many countries where homeowners & restaurants have special bins for organic waste. Every little bit counts. The ship sets a good example.
and to top it off, as of January, 2024, The Icon of The Seas at 248,663 Gross Tons: with 20 decks, capable of a NOMINAL 7,500 PASSENGERS ... everything else becomes a bathtub-toy!!!

I’ve been on multiple cruises and I have a more appreciation for the work it takes to have a successful voyage/trip
Thank you for showing this documentary... I was well entertained... Watching from West Africa
This thing is not even remotely close to the largest cruise ship ever built. It’s not even in the conversation. It’s half the size of the largest.
