There's a black widow at my shop. She stars in a corner and catches the wasps. I leave her alone and she leaves me alone and keeps me from getting stung. We have a non-verbal mutual agreement to keep away from one another. All in all, I don't think they're quite as bad as a lot of people make them out to be.
Spiders RARELY bite people. They don’t want to and have no reason to. The American Black Widow gets a bad rap. She’s a Non Aggressive and reclusive species. Also, only SOME species in ALL Spiders resort to Sexual Cannibalism, most species don’t eat him because he dies after mating. Good work sparing her. She’s doing you a favor.
I’ve been bitten a couple times. It’s really bad stomach cramps. I could barely stand up straight to breathe. It goes away eventually. I scared everyone because I couldn’t stand up straight and breathe.
Absolutely, They certainly don’t bother us and I am bothering them. They eat the small craters in the back garden or up in the loft that we don’t want. One lives in my workshop up high on a pillar and she doesn’t seem to mind the loud noise.
I have 3 black widows in my house but they're always in the same spot. As long they don't cross the threshold we're good. I believe they're males, no red spot.
I want to know about Yellow Sac spiders. I got bitten by one. It hit me 3 times in a row. An exterminator said Yellow Sacs like to bite like that. Is that true?
That's a cool suggestion! I'm not sure about any animal that "likes" to bite, but I believe they're considered one of the 'medically significant' biters in North America
Thank you, I'm currently doing research and must capture these! Caught two but can you make a video where you can show the different variants of black widows? Must they all have the markings?
Wow that sounds like neat research! I'll add that to our list, though it's admittedly not something we've tried before! Thanks for the suggestion and good luck with your research!
There are like 3 on my front porch alone, they loooove suburban SoCal. Mostly larger brown, learned from this video I’m mostly unwittingly hosting females - cool, terrifying, but cool.

Yes! They can be extremely beneficial!
Black Widows lifespan for Females is exactly 36 months. Only Orb Weavers,Funnel Webs and Crab Spiders have the lifespan of a Field Mouse: 1 year.

Males are tiny and have a different coloration. If they are dark black they are females. Sometimes their red markings are incredibly hard to see.
They leave in my garage 🫣 Even harsh anti spider spray doesn’t bother them much
I've never heard of the genus of widow spiders collectively referred to as the 'black widows'.
You have now! 😊 Thanks for watching!!
These spiders like to hang out in my trash bins, but the never do anything.
Yeah, they seem to be pretty chill unless you bug 'em.
Cool like the facts and did you talk about there sticky gluey ball of silk to?

@@AnimalFactFiles their bites sure do hurt. Still rather get bitten by one of them then be stung by a stinking Yellow Jacket.
Wow great content. Very interesting
Thanks so much!

Black widows cone out at night. I keep their numbers down by going out at night with a flashlight and a can of Raid.
