Hello again Hans! Congrats on an excellent outing... how exciting to be given an opportunity to hunt 'virgin' territory, especially given where it is located. You must make sure to treat your farmer friend to some adult beverages for his wonderful thoughtfulness! I'm sure many many viewers are wishing they were in such a situation! - I know I am! I'm really looking forward to your next trips to this new spot... wishing you even better luck next time! Al
***** hello al :) thank you my friend! i always wanted to detect this patch of the field but it was always occupied . . .slowly i'm starting to think that this settlement had huge dimensions. . .the farmer is an unbelievably nice guy and you can't wish for a nicer farmer i think. . .i made several presents to the whole farmers family already. . they are all lovely :) thank you for watching and commenting al! all the best, GL&HH! hans
You're certainly right about the signals, I nearly passed up a decent coin on the overwhelming iron signal of an at-pro that was a heineken bottle cap sitting next to a 1909 Penny. What an important find from 383, just as well the Romans knew that silver had longevity. Thanks for bringing us those rare relics, I certainly appreciate them.
MrGerryodonothing hello :) you can never be sure about the signals and readings. . .that's why i don't waste my time with digital readouts. . .i rely on my hearing and my experience . . .and how pondguru use to say:"if in doubt, dig it out" :) thank you for watching and for your kind words!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
I see why you call it your Dream field Hans, truly wonderful finds, relics & beautiful Roman silver. Great photography & nice shot of Castle Ronneburg, you have inspired me to research it, Thank You.
ronneburg is one of my favorite historic places. it's breathtakingly beautiful! thank you for watching and for leaving a nice comment under each video your watch :)
I know this won't be the proper name for the buckle you found at 23:15, but I would call it a slide tensioner. It's used to adjust the tension/tightness of a strap. When it is moved a certain way, it tightens the strap and keeps the tension until you slide it the opposite way. Yet another beautiful video. You certainly live in wonderful country.
Robert Klauka hello robert! that's right. . that's exactly how they work. . unfortunately i wasn't able to find out the right name in english so far. all i know is that they are from horse harnesses . . . thank you for watching and for your helpful comment! i'm glad that you like my videos and the countryside :) all the best, hans
hello matt :) i'm glad you like the coins and artifacts . . thank you for watching and for guessing about the buckle thing. . .i will try to find the right name of the relic. . i know that these buckles are found in england, too! thank you for your kind comment! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Another great video. Yours are so easy to watch because you take great time and effort with your camera setup and editing. I love the Roman silver. Thanks. Jason

Hi Hans, lovely finds as usual with the silver Roman coin as the icing on the cake. The farmer seems a very understanding guy and the scenery must make your detecting that much better. I was in Austria and Germany last week on holiday and I must say they are both beautiful countries. GL & HH, Colin.
zephyr88zodiac hello colin! i'm glad you like the finds! the silver siliqua is indeed the top find of that day. . they are so rare! you can't wish for a nicer farmer. . .such a nice guy! i enjoy nature so much and it is a major factor in my hobby. . . i'm happy to hear that you like austria and germany. . bavaria is lovely with the alps and the whole folklore :) thank you for watching and for your kind comment!!! all the best, hans
I couldn't believe the detail in the Roman silver coin. Amazing! Thank you for another fantasic video. (I know this is 3 years old. So many videos catch up on!)
most of them come out of the ground in crisp condition unless they aren't hacked to pieces by the rototiller. It amazes me every time to think that they are almost two thousand years old. thank you for watching my videos and for your kind comment :)
ItsAlwaysRusty hello my friend. . .i'm very happy to hear that you like the countryside. . .i love to add nature shots to my hunts. . .it would be a waste not to show it :) thank you for watching and for your kind comment!!! all the best, hans

Hans; congratulations on the intact Roman silver coin- fantastic! The square coin was very interesting and unusual, I didn't know any square coins were made. The medieval clothes fastener was a beautiful piece also. Terrific video!
***** hello fred :) thank you! haha. . yes, fortunately this one is complete! i also like the square heller very much. . i knew that they exist but i've never found one before. . i love exotic coins like that! it's the second clothes fastener of this kind on the field. . .must have been a common design . . thank you for watching and for your kind comment fred! i appreciate it! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Wow, that Roman silver coin was breath-taking! Gorgeous find. I appreciate what you put into your videos -- hot day and everything. You do really excellent work with filming, which is greatly appreciated. The tripod gives us a beautiful steady shot and you make sure the focus is right before filming. That may sound easy, but compared to most metal-detecting videos, you are at the head of the class.
Joanna Sandsmark hello joanna :) yes it is. . .that's exactly what it did to me the first second :) it's such a thrill to find coins like this! thank you for your kind words about my videos and filming. . it made me very happy to read that!!! i put quite some time and work into my videos and it's great to see that people appreciate it! thank you for watching my videos and please stay tuned :) all the best, hans

Johan de vlieger hello johan :) haha. . too right! it was extreme. . but nothing can stop me from detecting my dream field ;) the whole farmers family is lovely! such nice people. . .they even invited me for lunch several times. . .i of course made them many presents so far and i keep finding valuable farmers machinery parts from his tractors and what not he still can use. . so it's give and take :) thank you for watching and commenting my friend! all the best, GL&HH! hans

Endriu Detectort ciao endriu, molte grazie :). , .it è una bella moneta romana! Saluti, GL e HH! hans
Great finds, Hans! Very enjoyable to watch. I am amazed at the continual occupation of that site over the centuries. I wonder if it was a town or just a hamlet or a single farm site. I suspect a village of some sort. Continually occupied over so many years. Great video. Thanks again.
wadoman699 hello my friend. . .thank you for watching and for your kind comment! i'm glad you like my video! this field is a mystery even for the archaeologists who would have expected far more shards in conjunction with the coins. . .that's why they plan an electromagnetic prospection on the field sometime this summer to find out about possible structures beneath the surface. i'm very excited about the result! the scientists assume an alemannic settlement because of the coins i keep finding. . .by the time they were minted the romans were already on the left side of the river rhine . .that speaks for alemanns settling there who traded with the romans accepting their currencies. . maybe they even were mercenaries for the romans. . . thank you again for the watch :) all the best, hans
chrick53 hello christy, thank you! i'm happy to hear you like the hunt! i'm also glad about your kind words concerning my filming! that's exactly what i'm intending with the different perspectives i use. . .it's great to hear that it works :) thank you for watching and commenting!!! all the best, hans

Wow amazing finds again, and that day looked really hot. Hans I must say I start to think you are a perfectionist, high quality videos that is always a pleasure to watch, and now that finds box. Perfectionist lol All the best /Per
The Swede hello per my friend. . .i'm glad that you like the finds. . .i'm of course very happy about them :) it was indeed a very hot day. . but almost nothing can stop me from detecting my dream field ;) thank you for your kind words about my filming. . .i like filming very much and it's a lot of fun. . .haha. . .i'm only a perfectionist in things that i like ;) i can be very sloppy, too. . believe me :D thank you for watching!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
I think u just very German, me as a Swede should be a perfectionist as well but I think I am the missing link lol Anyway I appreciate your hard work making videos for our enjoyment
haha. . .maybe some prejudices have some truth to it. . . thank you for your kind words! it's a lot of fun for me to make them and it's amazing to hear that people like them :)
Hallo Hans.

Hans, I love your show! It’s very enjoyable, relaxing & educational too! My husband & I are from the US but live in Ecuador now. Please, you really should wear a hat, even on cloudy days. Ultraviolet is very high & dangerous these days. Have you ever thought of producing a show of all the info you have since found, on items once unidentifiable. It would be great! Two guesses on this silver object, 1. Medieval toy 2. Medical device of some kind Best to you & yours! John & Linda 🇩🇪🇱🇷👌
hello linda, hello john, I'm happy to hear that you like my videos :) thank you for watching and for your kind words! wow. . ecuador.. .it doesn't stop to amaze me where people watch my videos :) I always wear my hat now. . in summer and in winter I pt on my wooly hat. I actually have thought about such a video. I even made a folder with all the footage for it. . I'm just not sure how to arrange it. all the best and greetings from germany, hans
Ever thought about wearing a straw hat against the sun? It's cheaper than sun blocker and it won't get into your eyes so much ☺ Anyway, come rain or shine, you always have good finds. That silver coin is a beauty !
Oldfaithful61 yes i did. . .i'm looking for one at the moment. . it has to be a light one which ventilates my head. . otherwise couldn't wear it. . i'm not a hat guy :D thnk you for watching and for your kind comment! i'm happy that you like my finds! all the best, hans
Hi Hans, Great video as always, and congratulations on some very nice finds. In regard to the Jewish bag seal; As I recall the Jewish diet consisted of kosher foods, which were made kosher by a Rabbi blessing the food. So my guess is that after a Rabbi blessed the food, the container that the food was placed into was sealed with a a Kosher seal, to indicate that the food had been blessed. This is just a best guess on my part, so don't bet any money on it. :-)
Fred Probst hello fred! thank you for your kind comment! i'm glad you like my video and the finds! i agree with you about the jewish seals. . .that must have been the way they used them! thank you for your interesting guess! all the best and thank you for watching!!! hans
What outstanding finds on this day! I realize it has been 5 years ago now for you but for me it was today : ) I also wanted to say that if you haven't found out yet the slotted circular horse tack is called a concho. 💙 from Texas
Wonderful hunt as always. Great finds again too. And thank you for making the 'extra effort' to use English. Speaking in a second or third language is always challenging...and especially with more technical terms. I'm so impressed with your English. What I had learned in my 2 years of high school Deutch is pretty much lost after 30+ years. :(
Dale Van Dyke hello dale, thank you my friend, i'm glad you like the hunt and the finds! using english in my video was a great decision. . .i go to know so many nice people from around the world. . i couldn't imagine doing the videos in german alone. . . thank you for watching and for your kind comment!!! all the best, hans
Hi Hans.
Flemming Skæffergaard hello flemming! thank you for watching and for your kind, kind comment! i'm very happy about it and it's a big compliment for me to hear that :) all the best! hans
Congratulation to this awesomely nice find. I can't remember you did find a roman coin of this quality. And what a weather.....just a perfect day, wasn't it?
Nicht-die-Mama hello my friend. . .thank you! it's indeed a nice find. . i'm so happy that the coin is complete this time. . .i've found 3 similar nice ones in the past and a lot of fragments. . . the finds and the weather made a perfect detecting day :) thank you for watching and commenting!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Great video, and thanks for setting us at ease with your remarks about having rubbed on a lot of sunblock (your viewers no doubt worry about that famous looking head getting burned!). I do have a question though. With all the Roman coins and relics you find, there seem to be no signs of habitation like foundations or ruins, or broken utensils, pots and household items. I feel there must be something of that order close by. Perhaps the farmer's house and outbuildings are just the latest built and underneath are layers of past inhabitants. Either that or you are a short walk from where the people who dropped all those coins lived. It might be interesting to get a Backhoe and dig a 12 foot deep trench and see what it reveals down below. Could be those coins are just working their way up to the surface like Indian arrowheads tend to do in the farm fields around me here in Georgia.
Greg Kerr hello greg! haha. . .last year i received several comments of concerned viewers who told me to wear a hat because of the sun. . .i thought i have to say something about my precautions this year ;) the only other signs of habitation i find on this fields are a few roman pottery shards. this field is a mystery even for the archaeologists who would have expected far more shards in conjunction with the coins. . .that's why they plan an electromagnetic prospection on the field sometime this summer to find out about possible structures beneath the surface. i'm very excited about the result! thank you for watching and for your kind comment!!! all the best, hans
TerraGermania That is very interesting about the archaeologists. Those were my thoughts as well. I mean those Roman artifacts got there somehow, and people being people, I wouldn't think they'd be willing to walk miles and miles everyday out to their fields. I imagine there is a fair chance then of the remains of a villa being found way underneath the sight the farm house is built on. Has the farmer ever allowed you to detect the farmyard?
i'm looking forward to hearing about the results of the examination . . .so exciting! who knows what the pictures of the prospection will show. . .the farmyard is far away from the field. . .i think part of the settlement has to be under a modern settlement that was built a few years ago. . .
TheJohn316UK Metal Detecting UK hello john :) thank you for your kind comment! i'm glad that you like it and the finds! these siliquas are indeed beautiful. . i'm so happy that this one is complete! thank you for watching my friend and take care, too! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Well done on more great finds and another awesome Roman silver. Good work on the finds box - very inventive and will protect the coins well. How hot would it have been in that polytunnel? would have been like a sauna in there. GL&HH
Pondguru Outdoors hello richard, i always knew that this field is interesting! i'm glad that i finally got the opportunity to detect it! the finds box is an advancement of my previous one. . .i like the slit system. . . haha. . i didn't think about that. . but i will enter one next time and i will tell you about my experiences . . if i survive it. .lol thank you for watching and for your kind comment! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Hey about time Hans i was having video-withdrawals ;) Well done on the Silver Siliqua, we havent found one yet, very jealous haha. Another fine video, weather and finds, nice work :)
FPV Carlisle Cumbria haha. . .sorry for putting you on the rack but there was not much ground to detect in the past weeks :) i keep my fingers crossed for you to find your siliqua soon :) thank you for watching and for your kind words my friend! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Alexmorrow photography hello alex! thank you my friend, I'm glad you like my video! of course you can copy my idea. . it makes me happy that you find it useful :) thank you for watching and commenting!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
the first find looks like the heel of a dress shoe for a child or a doll. It has a tag on the top where it would have been fastened into the heel part of the body of the shoe.
Daniel Lindballe hello daniel :) thank you my friend, i'm glad you like my video! i hand over all my substantial finds. . .a video about my finds would only be possible with the fotos i made of them. . .seeing them all together on a pile isn't possible anymore. . .maybe i do a video about my top 10 finds at some point in the future :) all the best and thank you for watching!!! hans
Hi Hans. Thank you again for your great videos. They are always worth watching. I have a question for you. When you get permission from a landowner, do you make an agreement where you share any valuable find? What I mean is, for example, the beautiful silver Roman coin. Is it not valuable?
hello mark, thank you for watching and for your kind words :) there is a law that regulates this issue. if the provinces department of archaeology doesn't claim the find it is the property of the landowner and the finder in equal shares. the landowner and I however decided to donate the finds to a local museum. all the best, hans
+ruthie ru hello! good guess! thank you! but the item is made of heavy, poisonous lead. . I don't know If they used this metal for whistles!? thank you for watching and for your kind comment! all the best, hans
have you dug further down where you found that seal? I follow "diggingnorway" and they have stringent laws about old stuff ; does Germany have such laws? I have read that in those early days that counterfeits are being made so perhaps those two were counterfeits - btw, nice music :)
granskare hello. . . no i didn't. i rechecked the hole and there wasn't another signal. . why? we have strict laws for metal detecting in germany too! you need a permission from the archaeological department and from the land owners. . .otherwise it's illegal. these coins are barbaric imitations but they were not made to deceive but rather to sustain local economies . . .interesting coins :) i'm glad you like the music. . you can find the ensemble here: www.notabene-musik.de thank you for watching and commenting!!! all the best, hans
Hans the object that looks like a whistle or a flute,it was around the 1950's, maybe earlier than that, that they knew lead was know as poisonous. Did you find out what it is?
I get the chills when I think about the fact that all of your finds, have a individual history. Someone made that, someone owned it and lost it at some point (under lets hope, normal circomstances and not due to violence.) Great job on the video!
***** hallo peter! thank you, i'm glad that you like the coinage. . i'm very happy about the siliqua. . but i love the heller klippe too! haha. . why a dreieckshut? best wishes! hans
This is kind of off topic from my usual comments but, why are kruezers so thin, even in the 1800's with the use of machines? Is there not much silver in Germany or were they trying to produce more? Congrats on the siliqua though!
The Milkmann these kreuzers were a relatively small denomination back then . . .we had unbelievably big and thick silver coins called taler. . .finding one of these is still on my wishlist :) thank you for watching!!
penguin chick hello my friend. . thank you! i'm very happy about the finds. . .the heller klippe is a nice one too :) thank you for your guess about the unknown object. . .i can imagine that too! thank you for watching and commenting!!! all the best, hans
LG, hans
Martin Nielsen hello martin :) haha . das freut mich zu hören, danke! yeess! another silver. . and even complete this time. . sooo happy!! thank you for watching and for your kind comment! i'm glad that you like my video! all the best, GL&&H! hans
hello sir is it just me or is your English getting better :) happy to see you have new place to detect :) would not hurt if you switch between German and English in your videos are repeat same thing in both languages so maybe we can lean some German :)
uhfnutbar1 hello my friend.. .the videos definitely trained my english but i'm still far away from the level i want to achieve :) i tried this one time but the switching confused me and it took a lot of time to shoot the sequences. . .my cameras memory card capacity is not big enough for this method as well :D thank you for watching and commenting!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
How do you go about asking farmers to detect on their land? And who owns farmland in Germany? By that I mean, is it usually the farmer or is it some absentee land owner living somewhere else? I ask, because I guess most of this land was owned by a grafs and lords at some point. Danke schoen!
herodotus7 hello :) i simply visit them and ask. . it's better to do it personally and not over the phone. as soon as i have permission i watch for farmers working on neighbor fields and i ask them too. . .it's like a chain reaction :) most of the farmland in germany is private property owned by ordinary people. . . thank you for watching :) all the best, hans
+Gregorio Escamilla hello gregorio, there was a settlement on this field in the past. . that's why I keep finding so much things :) haha. . .I've bought a hat a couple of month ago. . .It was very important. . . thank you for watching and for your kind comment! all the best, GL&HH! hans
brent56and1 hello! i could keep the things i find but i decided to hand them over to the archaeologists. . .some of them will go into a local museum which makes me very happy :) thank you for watching!!! all the best, hans
I luv your added nature shots...adds so very much to your already wonderful videos!
I'm happy to hear that carrene :) thank you for watching and for your kind comments!
I love hear the singing, music, scenery. And, of course the silver and gold you find. Thanks.🇺🇸👏👏👏
Al
***** hello al :)
thank you my friend! i always wanted to detect this patch of the field but it was always occupied . . .slowly i'm starting to think that this settlement had huge dimensions. . .the farmer is an unbelievably nice guy and you can't wish for a nicer farmer i think. . .i made several presents to the whole farmers family already. . they are all lovely :)
thank you for watching and commenting al!
all the best, GL&HH!
MrGerryodonothing hello :)
you can never be sure about the signals and readings. . .that's why i don't waste my time with digital readouts. . .i rely on my hearing and my experience . . .and how pondguru use to say:"if in doubt, dig it out" :)
thank you for watching and for your kind words!!!
all the best, GL&HH!
Robert Klauka hello robert!
that's right. . that's exactly how they work. . unfortunately i wasn't able to find out the right name in english so far. all i know is that they are from horse harnesses . . .
thank you for watching and for your helpful comment! i'm glad that you like my videos and the countryside :)
all the best,
hans
hello matt :)
i'm glad you like the coins and artifacts . . thank you for watching and for guessing about the buckle thing. . .i will try to find the right name of the relic. . i know that these buckles are found in england, too!
thank you for your kind comment!

The fields you detect on are really beautiful. Lovely country. Super finds..
ItsAlwaysRusty hello my friend. . .i'm very happy to hear that you like the countryside. . .i love to add nature shots to my hunts. . .it would be a waste not to show it :)

Hans; congratulations on the intact Roman silver coin- fantastic! The square coin was very interesting and unusual, I didn't know any square coins were made. The medieval clothes fastener was a beautiful piece also. Terrific video!
***** hello fred :)
thank you! haha. . yes, fortunately this one is complete! i also like the square heller very much. . i knew that they exist but i've never found one before. . i love exotic coins like that! it's the second clothes fastener of this kind on the field. . .must have been a common design . .
thank you for watching and for your kind comment fred! i appreciate it!
all the best, GL&HH!
Joanna Sandsmark hello joanna :)
yes it is. . .that's exactly what it did to me the first second :) it's such a thrill to find coins like this!
thank you for your kind words about my videos and filming. . it made me very happy to read that!!! i put quite some time and work into my videos and it's great to see that people appreciate it! thank you for watching my videos and please stay tuned :)

Great finds, Hans! Very enjoyable to watch. I am amazed at the continual occupation of that site over the centuries. I wonder if it was a town or just a hamlet or a single farm site. I suspect a village of some sort. Continually occupied over so many years. Great video. Thanks again.
wadoman699 hello my friend. . .thank you for watching and for your kind comment! i'm glad you like my video! this field is a mystery even for the archaeologists who would have expected far more shards in conjunction with the coins. . .that's why they plan an electromagnetic prospection on the field sometime this summer to find out about possible structures beneath the surface. i'm very excited about the result! the scientists assume an alemannic settlement because of the coins i keep finding. . .by the time they were minted the romans were already on the left side of the river rhine . .that speaks for alemanns settling there who traded with the romans accepting their currencies. . maybe they even were mercenaries for the romans. . .
thank you again for the watch :)
all the best,
hans

horse buckle on bridle for decoration is called a Rosette
Hans, I love your show! It’s very enjoyable, relaxing & educational too!
My husband & I are from the US but live in Ecuador now.
Please, you really should wear a hat, even on cloudy days. Ultraviolet is very high & dangerous these days.
Have you ever thought of producing a show of all the info you have since found, on items once unidentifiable. It would be great!
Two guesses on this silver object, 1. Medieval toy 2. Medical device of some kind
Best to you & yours!
John & Linda
🇩🇪🇱🇷👌
hello linda, hello john,
I'm happy to hear that you like my videos :) thank you for watching and for your kind words!
wow. . ecuador.. .it doesn't stop to amaze me where people watch my videos :)
I always wear my hat now. . in summer and in winter I pt on my wooly hat.
I actually have thought about such a video. I even made a folder with all the footage for it. . I'm just not sure how to arrange it.
all the best and greetings from germany,
hans
Ever thought about wearing a straw hat against the sun? It's cheaper than sun blocker and it won't get into your eyes so much ☺ Anyway, come rain or shine, you always have good finds. That silver coin is a beauty !
Oldfaithful61 yes i did. . .i'm looking for one at the moment. . it has to be a light one which ventilates my head. . otherwise couldn't wear it. . i'm not a hat guy :D
thnk you for watching and for your kind comment! i'm happy that you like my finds!
all the best,
hans
Hi Hans,
Great video as always, and congratulations on some very nice finds.

Nice finds again.

Dale Van Dyke hello dale,
thank you my friend, i'm glad you like the hunt and the finds!
using english in my video was a great decision. . .i go to know so many nice people from around the world. . i couldn't imagine doing the videos in german alone. . .
thank you for watching and for your kind comment!!!
all the best,
hans
Hi Hans.
Congratulation for the hunting!!! It was amazing! 👏

Congratulation to this awesomely nice find. I can't remember you did find a roman coin of this quality. And what a weather.....just a perfect day, wasn't it?
Nicht-die-Mama hello my friend. . .thank you! it's indeed a nice find. . i'm so happy that the coin is complete this time. . .i've found 3 similar nice ones in the past and a lot of fragments. . .
the finds and the weather made a perfect detecting day :)
thank you for watching and commenting!!!
all the best, GL&HH!
hans
Great finds.I am new 2 your Chanel.
Greg Kerr hello greg!
haha. . .last year i received several comments of concerned viewers who told me to wear a hat because of the sun. . .i thought i have to say something about my precautions this year ;)
the only other signs of habitation i find on this fields are a few roman pottery shards. this field is a mystery even for the archaeologists who would have expected far more shards in conjunction with the coins. . .that's why they plan an electromagnetic prospection on the field sometime this summer to find out about possible structures beneath the surface. i'm very excited about the result!
thank you for watching and for your kind comment!!!
all the best,
hans
TerraGermania That is very interesting about the archaeologists. Those were my thoughts as well. I mean those Roman artifacts got there somehow, and people being people, I wouldn't think they'd be willing to walk miles and miles everyday out to their fields. I imagine there is a fair chance then of the remains of a villa being found way underneath the sight the farm house is built on. Has the farmer ever allowed you to detect the farmyard?
i'm looking forward to hearing about the results of the examination . . .so exciting! who knows what the pictures of the prospection will show. . .the farmyard is far away from the field. . .i think part of the settlement has to be under a modern settlement that was built a few years ago. . .
great video as usual congrats on the roman silver its a beauty
take care
john :)
TheJohn316UK Metal Detecting UK hello john :)

Well done on more great finds and another awesome Roman silver. Good work on the finds box - very inventive and will protect the coins well.
How hot would it have been in that polytunnel? would have been like a sauna in there.
GL&HH
Pondguru Outdoors hello richard,
i always knew that this field is interesting! i'm glad that i finally got the opportunity to detect it! the finds box is an advancement of my previous one. . .i like the slit system. . .
haha. . i didn't think about that. . but i will enter one next time and i will tell you about my experiences . . if i survive it. .lol
thank you for watching and for your kind comment!
all the best, GL&HH!

Die römische Niete ist ein römischer Uniformknopf👍👍👌👌
Grüsse und gut Fund aus der Schweiz 🇨🇭
6:11 I'm thinking of a garden water hose.
good guess! thank you :)
the first find looks like the heel of a dress shoe for a child or a doll. It has a tag on the top where it would have been fastened into the heel part of the body of the shoe.
Perfect hans, another good hunt! Are we ever going to see your collection, maybe even a top 10? :D
Daniel Lindballe hello daniel :)
thank you my friend, i'm glad you like my video! i hand over all my substantial finds. . .a video about my finds would only be possible with the fotos i made of them. . .seeing them all together on a pile isn't possible anymore. . .maybe i do a video about my top 10 finds at some point in the future :)
all the best and thank you for watching!!!
hans
i'll think about it :) it's a common request to do a video like that. . .thank you for watching, GL&HH!
hans
Found out that Germany made municipal police tube shaped made circa 1920's that have lead tops and mouthpieces.Look up antique metal whistles
thank you so much! I appreciate your help :)
Hi Hans. Thank you again for your great videos. They are always worth watching. I have a question for you. When you get permission from a landowner, do you make an agreement where you share any valuable find? What I mean is, for example, the beautiful silver Roman coin. Is it not valuable?
hello mark,
thank you for watching and for your kind words :)
there is a law that regulates this issue. if the provinces department of archaeology doesn't claim the find it is the property of the landowner and the finder in equal shares. the landowner and I however decided to donate the finds to a local museum.
all the best,
hans
Wonderful finds. The silver coin is magnificent. Lovely flower at the end. Do you know what kind it is?
hi ☺ I'm wondering if @6:11 it might be some sort of Whistle??
Great Video!!!
+ruthie ru hello!
good guess! thank you! but the item is made of heavy, poisonous lead. . I don't know If they used this metal for whistles!?
thank you for watching and for your kind comment!
all the best,
hans
TerraGermania 😃☺☺
have you dug further down where you found that seal? I follow "diggingnorway" and they have stringent laws about old stuff ; does Germany have such laws? I have read that in those early days that counterfeits are being made so perhaps those two were counterfeits - btw, nice music :)
granskare hello. . .
no i didn't. i rechecked the hole and there wasn't another signal. . why?
we have strict laws for metal detecting in germany too! you need a permission from the archaeological department and from the land owners. . .otherwise it's illegal.
these coins are barbaric imitations but they were not made to deceive but rather to sustain local economies . . .interesting coins :)
i'm glad you like the music. . you can find the ensemble here: www.notabene-musik.de
thank you for watching and commenting!!!
all the best,
hans
Hans the object that looks like a whistle or a flute,it was around the 1950's, maybe earlier than that, that they knew lead was know as poisonous. Did you find out what it is?
interesting! thank you for telling me! i will check this possibility :) thank you for watching and for your helpful comment!
I get the chills when I think about the fact that all of your finds, have a individual history. Someone made that, someone owned it and lost it at some point (under lets hope, normal circomstances and not due to violence.) Great job on the video!
these are thought that come to my mind too in these moments... it's part of the fascination of the hobby :) thank you for watching!
Hallo Hans! once again you have found some nice coinage, perhaps you should start wearing "ein hut mit drei ecken"!-peter lorenz
***** hallo peter!
thank you, i'm glad that you like the coinage. . i'm very happy about the siliqua. . but i love the heller klippe too!
haha. . why a dreieckshut?
best wishes!
hans
TerraGermania Just joking, I meant to wear a wide brimmed hat so you get out of the sun, I think I messed my deutch up!
i should really look for a hat! even though i put on a lot of sun blocker the exposure to the sun is not good. . .
vlg, GL&HH!
hans
danke hans und schönes WE
vlg,klaus
danke, wünsche ich dir auch!
Moin,
David
This is kind of off topic from my usual comments but, why are kruezers so thin, even in the 1800's with the use of machines? Is there not much silver in Germany or were they trying to produce more? Congrats on the siliqua though!
The Milkmann these kreuzers were a relatively small denomination back then . . .we had unbelievably big and thick silver coins called taler. . .finding one of these is still on my wishlist :)
thank you for watching!!
congrats hans on the silver roman! and all the other finds :)
the one thing looks like a funnel that was on a strap?
penguin chick hello my friend. . thank you! i'm very happy about the finds. . .the heller klippe is a nice one too :)
thank you for your guess about the unknown object. . .i can imagine that too!
thank you for watching and commenting!!!
all the best,
hans
17:00 fragment podstawy figurki, not fibula 😉
LG,
hans
sehr Geil video Hans ! another silver :) cool.. Bedst regards martin (Denmark)
Martin Nielsen hello martin :)
haha . das freut mich zu hören, danke! yeess! another silver. . and even complete this time. . sooo happy!!
thank you for watching and for your kind comment! i'm glad that you like my video!
all the best, GL&&H!
hans
hello sir is it just me or is your English getting better :) happy to see you have new place to detect :) would not hurt if you switch between German and English in your videos are repeat same thing in both languages so maybe we can lean some German :)
uhfnutbar1 hello my friend.. .the videos definitely trained my english but i'm still far away from the level i want to achieve :) i tried this one time but the switching confused me and it took a lot of time to shoot the sequences. . .my cameras memory card capacity is not big enough for this method as well :D
thank you for watching and commenting!!!
all the best, GL&HH!
hans
Sorry for missjudging your competences, changed my mind. Grome jel stima?
Any Ideas? I'm thinking it's a piece of a pipe for smoking tobacco
How do you go about asking farmers to detect on their land? And who owns farmland in Germany? By that I mean, is it usually the farmer or is it some absentee land owner living somewhere else? I ask, because I guess most of this land was owned by a grafs and lords at some point. Danke schoen!
herodotus7 hello :)
i simply visit them and ask. . it's better to do it personally and not over the phone. as soon as i have permission i watch for farmers working on neighbor fields and i ask them too. . .it's like a chain reaction :)
most of the farmland in germany is private property owned by ordinary people. . .
thank you for watching :)
all the best,
hans
TerraGermania thanks for the response! Deutschland ist wuenderschoen!
impresionante toda la historia que encuentras en un sólo día! use a mexican hat,you will looks great! : )
+Gregorio Escamilla hello gregorio,
there was a settlement on this field in the past. . that's why I keep finding so much things :)
haha. . .I've bought a hat a couple of month ago. . .It was very important. . .
thank you for watching and for your kind comment!
all the best, GL&HH!
hans
Do you get to keep the treasure you find?
brent56and1 hello!
i could keep the things i find but i decided to hand them over to the archaeologists. . .some of them will go into a local museum which makes me very happy :)
thank you for watching!!!
all the best,
hans
what year are those Roman coins from you think?
most of the roman coins I keep finding on these fields are late roman. . about 2nd to 4th century A.D.
thank you for watching!!
mamba nero ciao mamba nero!
buona idea! Sto cercando un cappello :)
quali sono le leggi in Italia?
grazie per essere venuti!
ciao!
hans
. .Devo dare anche reliquie importanti. . .
ciao!
