I have insomnia and don't want to get addicted to any medication... however, sometimes when i don't get sleep for 3-4 days straight, i have to pop up a zolpidem 10 or alpazolam 0.5 ... and i get 6 hours sleep... so can i get addicted to drugs even if i take them with a gap of 2-3 days or so???
I'm on Xanax right now, I suffered from GAD and panic disorder with agoraphobia. Xanax is bringing my life back, I couldnt even go to the grocery store without having a panic attack. I take other meds as well but Xanax is a life saver and I need it so much!

I got it to help me with fear of flying…I never feel addicted. I use it now occasionally for sleeping. It is the best sleep med I have found. Perhaps I do not have a very addictive personality but in never feel I ‘need’ it….fortunately.
I beat anxiety. I became one with death I wasn’t scared of death anymore and signed up to the gym. I workout in the morning and the rest of the day the anxiety and panic attacks went away. You got this find what works for you. pills aren’t the only answer it gets better if you wanna get Better
Over 10 years on taking Alprazolam 1.5 mg per day. Took over a year to get off. The withdrawal lasted for 4 to 6 months. It was some kind of hell. If deciding to stop taking it, talk to your Doctor first. Thanks
True with any drug. Except for weed it seems.. Few days of 'nicking', and you're over it with Mary Jane. No big deal compared to most. Especially Cigarettes. Cravings lasted MONTHS with that mess!

The day I visited my doctor, I took 1.5 tablet ie 0.125 + 0.5 mg and felt a lot better on that day. The next day I took half a tablet ie 0.125mg and felt the effect rapidly, may be 30 minutes. I know this drug could be dangerous to use but the effect of suppressing the panic disorder is also what I need for the moment!
@@selena5979 I actually took 0.125mg, may be once in two days. Trying to take as little dosage as possible to avoid developing dependence so soon. I can work normally and feel ok.

Someone who isn’t me used to get 90 of the yellow 2mg “R039” scored tablets per month. I don’t know how it was possible but it went on for about 8 months. I used to get ahold of about 40 of those per month and I would swallow all of them in about 6-10 days. There was a time in my life for about a year where my memory is spotty and I was extremely inebriated pretty much constantly. Coming down from that year long high was the absolute lowest point in my life, I wouldn’t wish that torture on anyone. These pills, especially the 2mg, are by far the worst drug in the world besides heroin and fentanyl. Even the come down off coke wasn’t that bad. Please do not mess with these pills. It’s not worth it unless you are very careful and in accordance with your doctor.
I think the withdrawal is worse than fentanyl. It for sure will last longer. And combined with fentanyl is a very deadly mixture. Benzo's will send your ass for a 8 month withdrawal. Never go cold turkey, fuck that. And there shouldn't be a reason to take a 2mg tablet of Xanax or Klonopin. None at all.

Wish I never took the first tablet. Tried weaning off several times and became sicker then ever. This should be discussed more between Doctor's and patient warnings before prescribing and usage. Horrible.

I haven’t been able to breathe in deeply for the last few weeks, started off as a cold and I do have asthma but they’ve ran many tests and nothing seems to be wrong. They’ve prescribed me Xanax because anxiety has gotten so bad and I’m scared they’re not gonna figure out what’s truly wrong. The Xanax didn’t help me breathe like they thought it would :/ then again I only took it twice, once .25 and the next .5 do you think I should I keep trying it or should it have helped me breathe that day? Ask your dr about prozac then slowly reduce your xanax each month by 1mg. Lastly, by month 4 take .5 mg only at night. In month 5 take .25 mg every other night. Ive been taking .5mg for 30 years but I only use 5-10 a month for high anxiety as needed. The low dose prozac 20mg has helped a great deal, I hope this helps. Good luck
The problem with benzodiazepines is that they feel really, and I mean REALLY good, euphoric even when you have anxiety or worries during the day, which makes the urge to redose very common. Please work with your doctor and don't take past what they recommend to you. I have to admit I use these drugs not when I need them all the time, I have/had used them on rare occasions recreationally, which is not what they are meant for. But you can fall into dependence quite rapidly, which happened to me about a year ago. Luckily I'm able to keep my use at a minimum now and sometimes take one or two to chill out in the weekends, not mixing it with alcohol which I used to do which is very dangerous, using them sporadically doesn't result in bad side effects for me, (I still don't condone this type of usage.) Just know that with prolonged use, the withdrawals you get from them are horrific. My mom had to drive me to the hospital once at night because I almost had as seizure, I thought I could handle being on them for months on end without taking a break and it was the most unpleasant thing I've ever went through, though I learned my lesson. Not only does it physically hurt, but the mental torture was even worse, it feels like the most horrific panic attack you will ever experience, let alone the danger of it, people can die from seizures when not tapered off properly by a knowledgeable doctor. If you find yourself in the position where you have to take it to avoid unpleasant side effects, contact your doctor immediately. They are addicting, and it's easy to fall into daily and prolonged use. Also, a dependence can happen to anybody and it's not the same as an addiction. I've tried working with doctors for years they just think you want a high. Benzos are the only thing that has ever helped my bpd, PTSD and anxiety. Doctors in the UK are useless. I'm literally going to kill myself soon just because they won't help even tho I've struggled 20 years I have no life and I'm done
@@Human927 On my peak usage I was using 10mg of etizolam daily, which is equivalent to 5mg of xanax a day for about 6 to 7 months. Sometimes more until I would black out.
@@jojijoji914 Depends on how long you have been taken the drug. However 0.8mg is very little so you are lucky in that regard, maybe, emphasis on maybe, because some people still experience severe side effects from as little as 0.25 a day. Still, you should build off veeery slowly. If not, you can (but I can't guarrantee because everybodies body and process is different) have long lasting symptoms that can take months to years to completely go away. If you want my subjective experience, the withdrawals for me felt like I was on the verge of dying/getting a heart attack or seizure, but I would take just enough to lessen those symptoms. Every time I woke up and had the mentality of: I am strong today, I will do this no matter what, I tried lowering my dosage which eventually worked. The first few days to 2 weeks are the worst, and it slowly subsides after that for most people. I sure as hell wouldn't recommend getting off of it in stressful times, because that just makes the state of your mental health worse and it's helping no one. Find the right time for it.
I abused Xanax on and off for a full 2 years ending up in the hospital 3 different times from withdrawal seizures the worst thing I ever went through after the 3rd time I stopped it’s been 4 years now… but these past couples days my anxiety has really been messing with me I’m not sure if I should take one I don’t even want it for the high but just to calm down..

Bro same shit with me, i anused xans since 2018 and its always been hard to quit cold turkey followed by withdrawals and then low self esteem so then i chase the dragon again and the process starts all over. I was coming off a perc withdrawal which are lore painful imo and so i was scared to touch one (a week after I stopped taking both xans and percs) . In my peak i was taking 4-6 2mg bars. Recently i had cut down to 2 max daily. Then moved on to percs. Afters 6 months of trying to quit cold turkey im here again like i said above, 7 days after perc withdrawals. Ive been stuck in bed for a whole week and felt super anxious about seeing friends, going out side, beeing seen by people etc. I took a half yesterday and waited 35 minutes and i felt the flutters in my gut go away. I had a great day yesterday and im gonna use this momentum to start getting my life together. The trick is to be friends with your demons; what i mean is dont be afraid to use a tool to help you. But you must also have the will power to know when taking xans isn’t necessary. Space it out and take only if you feel like you really need to

I'm wondering how old you are, about your medical history, and if you were having falling issues before this? I'm American and recently had to change providers due to cost of insurance. I had to go through an established care visit to establish myself as a patient. This isn't an annual physical, just answering alot of questions. I'm older but not yet 70. Because of my age I had to answer alot of very personal and difficult questions especially about falling. Alot of people age without this being an issue. I'm not on any prescribed medication and haven't been to the doctor in a 3-5 year time span until now. I hope you were taken off this with your issue of falling once on it. My issue is after reading a comment like this someone will be denied use of this medication and not have any issues with it. My sister had this happen to her where because of her age and the worry about falling her doctor took her off it. She had no issues of falling and going off made things worse for her. She took it as prescribed. Luckily she was able to switch doctors and was able to go back on it. But her previous doctor was bound and determined there were issues where there weren't. This is what scares me. What if you need a more powerful med for pain management and they won't give it to you because of your age and fear of falling. You could be put on something which doesn't help or just told to take over the counter medications. All this fuss because you might fall. It's crap!

@@maggamoosie801 thank you for your reply. I was at the therapy today and we switched to diazepam instead. I feel better now because i know cutting off diazepam is easier. This is a temporary treatment for now and i have started to feel relief as of today. As you said therapy is the key and what will make the difference the most.

I am taking xanor alprazolam idk if its the same as xanax but i only take 1 before sleep .5mg. Its been 3 days and im still sleepy all the time. Thats a massive amount amount man. I would consider try smaller doses of say 0.5mg-1mg and if that helps then coming off these meds will be much easier. Remember xanax is an emergency medication and shouldn't be used for prolonged use

I wish you the best, and take the minimum of xanax or any benzos, as tolerance builds fast, and that means you take, say double your first dose and no effect I would strongly recommend take benzodiazepines every 2 to 3 days or more apart, that way you get the best benefit. I know how ez it is to want to take every day, but keep to the minimum for maximum effect especially if you have problems that are long term or all your life. Alprazolam can defeat your insomnia and anxieties very powerfully. Equally powerfully, you will lose your job. Women will feel uncomfortable near you. Seriously.
Try kratom and cannabis when trying to taper down. Talk to your doctor about making a schedule for tapering down. Let it take time and find other things that give at least some relief. Kratom has been a great aid for me.

I can not talk to my Doctor about shit he does not listen he walks out of the room as i am telling him about my panic attacks he has me on .5 1 time a day it helps for about 2 hours and then i am right back to square one. I am to the point where i am about to say f this and go self medicate myself since I cant get no relief from my doctor I pay 300$ every single visit..
One more for you. For the panic disorder is no:1 medicine is effexor 37.5mg SSRI. for the long term effects. Once a day. And for better sleep and happy mood use mirtazapine 15mg once before bed. Don't use alprazolam regularly.

I have to have a procedure, under ultrasound, and It's really painful. I have had it once, but now the problem is in the other leg, so I have to go through this thing again. I wanted IV sedation, but Mom talked the Dr. into some oral sedation. THEY PRESCRIBED XANAX. Yeah. I had that in ICU when I first got my trach, and was on the ventilator for the first few days. On the fourth night, I couldn't relax, because my ventilator settings weren't right. They gave me XANAX through my IV, and that stuff made me feel HORRIBLE. I was dreaming weird dreams, and woke up and I wrote to the nurse with the Notes app on my iPhone. What did I say? DON'T EVER GIVE THAT TO ME AGAIN." Well I wanted IV sedation for my procedure I have to have, AGAIN, and instead I've got XANAX. Lovely! I'm really excited about this! NOT! Can you tell that sentence was dripping with SARCASM? I am NOT excited about this procedure, and the fact that I'm not getting IV Versed, makes me MAD. I do well with Versed. I didn't do well with Xanax.

Hey there! Hope u'r going well. I had a baby almost 4months ago and in the middle of August i started taking xanax for sleep,like only 0.25 and rising to 0.50 till today. I've taking this before to treat panick attacks and anxiety, and also i'm on Lexapro. But now i'm a little scared..do you think that this low dosage is dangerous or not so much that i can keep taking every night? The day I visited my doctor, I took 1.5 tablet ie 0.125 + 0.5 mg and felt a lot better on that day. The next day I took half a tablet ie 0.125mg and felt the effect rapidly, may be 30 minutes. I know this drug could be dangerous to use but the effect of suppressing the panic disorder is also what I need for the moment!

Someone who isn’t me used to get 90 of the yellow 2mg “R039” scored tablets per month. I don’t know how it was possible but it went on for about 8 months. I used to get ahold of about 40 of those per month and I would swallow all of them in about 6-10 days. There was a time in my life for about a year where my memory is spotty and I was extremely inebriated pretty much constantly. Coming down from that year long high was the absolute lowest point in my life, I wouldn’t wish that torture on anyone. These pills, especially the 2mg, are by far the worst drug in the world besides heroin and fentanyl. Even the come down off coke wasn’t that bad. Please do not mess with these pills. It’s not worth it unless you are very careful and in accordance with your doctor.

I think the withdrawal is worse than fentanyl. It for sure will last longer. And combined with fentanyl is a very deadly mixture. Benzo's will send your ass for a 8 month withdrawal. Never go cold turkey, fuck that. And there shouldn't be a reason to take a 2mg tablet of Xanax or Klonopin. None at all.

I haven’t been able to breathe in deeply for the last few weeks, started off as a cold and I do have asthma but they’ve ran many tests and nothing seems to be wrong. They’ve prescribed me Xanax because anxiety has gotten so bad and I’m scared they’re not gonna figure out what’s truly wrong. The Xanax didn’t help me breathe like they thought it would :/ then again I only took it twice, once .25 and the next .5 do you think I should I keep trying it or should it have helped me breathe that day? Ask your dr about prozac then slowly reduce your xanax each month by 1mg. Lastly, by month 4 take .5 mg only at night. In month 5 take .25 mg every other night.
Ive been taking .5mg for 30 years but I only use 5-10 a month for high anxiety as needed. The low dose prozac 20mg has helped a great deal, I hope this helps. Good luck

The problem with benzodiazepines is that they feel really, and I mean REALLY good, euphoric even when you have anxiety or worries during the day, which makes the urge to redose very common. Please work with your doctor and don't take past what they recommend to you. I have to admit I use these drugs not when I need them all the time, I have/had used them on rare occasions recreationally, which is not what they are meant for. But you can fall into dependence quite rapidly, which happened to me about a year ago. Luckily I'm able to keep my use at a minimum now and sometimes take one or two to chill out in the weekends, not mixing it with alcohol which I used to do which is very dangerous, using them sporadically doesn't result in bad side effects for me, (I still don't condone this type of usage.) Just know that with prolonged use, the withdrawals you get from them are horrific. My mom had to drive me to the hospital once at night because I almost had as seizure, I thought I could handle being on them for months on end without taking a break and it was the most unpleasant thing I've ever went through, though I learned my lesson. Not only does it physically hurt, but the mental torture was even worse, it feels like the most horrific panic attack you will ever experience, let alone the danger of it, people can die from seizures when not tapered off properly by a knowledgeable doctor. If you find yourself in the position where you have to take it to avoid unpleasant side effects, contact your doctor immediately. They are addicting, and it's easy to fall into daily and prolonged use. Also, a dependence can happen to anybody and it's not the same as an addiction.

I've tried working with doctors for years they just think you want a high. Benzos are the only thing that has ever helped my bpd, PTSD and anxiety. Doctors in the UK are useless. However 0.8mg is very little so you are lucky in that regard, maybe, emphasis on maybe, because some people still experience severe side effects from as little as 0.25 a day. Still, you should build off veeery slowly. If not, you can (but I can't guarrantee because everybodies body and process is different) have long lasting symptoms that can take months to years to completely go away. If you want my subjective experience, the withdrawals for me felt like I was on the verge of dying/getting a heart attack or seizure, but I would take just enough to lessen those symptoms. Every time I woke up and had the mentality of: I am strong today, I will do this no matter what, I tried lowering my dosage which eventually worked. The first few days to 2 weeks are the worst, and it slowly subsides after that for most people. I sure as hell wouldn't recommend getting off of it in stressful times, because that just makes the state of your mental health worse and it's helping no one. Find the right time for it.
I abused Xanax on and off for a full 2 years ending up in the hospital 3 different times from withdrawal seizures the worst thing I ever went through after the 3rd time I stopped it’s been 4 years now… but these past couples days my anxiety has really been messing with me I’m not sure if I should take one I don’t even want it for the high but just to calm down..

Bro same shit with me, i anused xans since 2018 and its always been hard to quit cold turkey followed by withdrawals and then low self esteem so then i chase the dragon again and the process starts all over. I was coming off a perc withdrawal which are lore painful imo and so i was scared to touch one (a week after I stopped taking both xans and percs) . In my peak i was taking 4-6 2mg bars. Recently i had cut down to 2 max daily. Then moved on to percs. Afters 6 months of trying to quit cold turkey im here again like i said above, 7 days after perc withdrawals. Ive been stuck in bed for a whole week and felt super anxious about seeing friends, going out side, beeing seen by people etc. I took a half yesterday and waited 35 minutes and i felt the flutters in my gut go away. I had a great day yesterday and im gonna use this momentum to start getting my life together. The trick is to be friends with your demons; what i mean is dont be afraid to use a tool to help you. But you must also have the will power to know when taking xans isn’t necessary. Space it out and take only if you feel like you really need to

I'm wondering how old you are, about your medical history, and if you were having falling issues before this? I'm American and recently had to change providers due to cost of insurance. I had to go through an established care visit to establish myself as a patient. This isn't an annual physical, just answering alot of questions. I'm older but not yet 70. Because of my age I had to answer alot of very personal and difficult questions especially about falling. Alot of people age without this being an issue. I'm not on any prescribed medication and haven't been to the doctor in a 3-5 year time span until now. I hope you were taken off this with your issue of falling once on it. My issue is after reading a comment like this someone will be denied use of this medication and not have any issues with it. My sister had this happen to her where because of her age and the worry about falling her doctor took her off it. She had no issues of falling and going off made things worse for her. She took it as prescribed. Luckily she was able to switch doctors and was able to go back on it. But her previous doctor was bound and determined there were issues where there weren't. This is what scares me. What if you need a more powerful med for pain management and they won't give it to you because of your age and fear of falling. You could be put on something which doesn't help or just told to take over the counter medications. All this fuss because you might fall. It's crap!

This is a temporary treatment for now and i have started to feel relief as of today. As you said therapy is the key and what will make the difference the most.

Take the prescription right away when you wake up. 30mg is the starting dose but 20mg is also available. I'm on 20mg and it's perfect for me.

Thats a massive amount amount man. I would consider try smaller doses of say 0.5mg-1mg and if that helps then coming off these meds will be much easier. Remember xanax is an emergency medication and shouldn't be used for prolonged use

I wish you the best, and take the minimum of xanax or any benzos, as tolerance builds fast, and that means you take, say double your first dose and no effect I would strongly recommend take benzodiazepines every 2 to 3 days or more apart, that way you get the best benefit. Try kratom and cannabis when trying to taper down. Talk to your doctor about making a schedule for tapering down. Let it take time and find other things that give at least some relief. Kratom has been a great aid for me.

I have to have a procedure, under ultrasound, and It's really painful. I have had it once, but now the problem is in the other leg, so I have to go through this thing again. I wanted IV sedation, but Mom talked the Dr. into some oral sedation. THEY PRESCRIBED XANAX. Yeah. I had that in ICU when I first got my trach, and was on the ventilator for the first few days. On the fourth night, I couldn't relax, because my ventilator settings weren't right. They gave me XANAX through my IV, and that stuff made me feel HORRIBLE. I was dreaming weird dreams, and woke up and I wrote to the nurse with the Notes app on my iPhone. What did I say? DON'T EVER GIVE THAT TO ME AGAIN." Well I wanted IV sedation for my procedure I have to have, AGAIN, and instead I've got XANAX. Lovely! I'm really excited about this! NOT! Can you tell that sentence was dripping with SARCASM? I am NOT excited about this procedure, and the fact that I'm not getting IV Versed, makes me MAD. I do well with Versed. I didn't do well with Xanax.
