The laurel falls area by watauga lake is beautiful. That stream water is even too cold in mid summer. During my college days at etsu in johnson city,TN we would pack in a case of beer and chill in the pool below laurel fall's all day. The hike back up them rock stairs was quite the challenge to do after drinking a 6 pack or more beers.

Absolutely gorgeous walk today! I wanna go. Need to put that area on my bucket list, since I probably won't be hiking to Maine from anywhere.
