Republic of Ireland, go dapping for trout using a grasshopper or daddy long legs for bait If you’ve never done it before it’s definitely something to try. Mayflower season makes it just too easy so late July or August I would suggest. Favourite venue would be loch Mask and the scenery is stunning with the evening spent exaggerating about the biggest fish while quaffing some lovely Guinness. . . . . Enjoy
Hi Petekyne5757, firstly, thank you for watching and giving your input on what I could potentially do this year. Secondly, you have won the free pro subscription to catch and a free session here! Just ping me a message on either instagram or email me at jwooltorton.media@gmail.com and we will sort it out for you. 😁
I agree, an “I can’t hook up on pike” support group with Sean should be on the cards! Oh, and I suppose the drama queen in the blue coat could tag along! 😉😉
Well done mate. I was told that putting yourself out of your comfort zone is a good thing. You did well on the reservoir. I'm looking forward to seeing you going after different species, being an all rounder is a good thing. Tight lines
Another great watch Joe. Looking forward to whatever you have in store for 25. A colab with Carl will always be a good watch. I think keep doing what your doing and showing us the highs and lows of fishing will always be a great watch. Different reservoirs, different species. New waters from catch to give us viewers a sneak peak before booking new lakes. 👏
LOVE IIIT... my kind of fishing pike and cat. you done everything right but don't delete next time lol. LOVE to see you cat fishing for one of those big boys. I'm a BIG pike and cat fisherman just talking about it can't wait till I'm on that bank. love the vids keep em coming ❤
Great video joe… I think you spoke with my mate about this video, we fished it a few years ago and have had some decent fish out of there. Hope things go good for you this year you definitely deserve it! One video a week is a big goal, hope you smash it mate 🎣🎥
Would love to see some carp fishing in Italy if that's a possibility. Great vid and although I'm solely a carp fisherman, I thoroughly enjoyed this video.
great edit joe, really enjoyed that one 😉 the drone footage of the fish release more than made up for the deleted footage! cheddar is a tough one, only fished it twice and got one fish per session but it sure was grueling... well done for catching and good luck with all the future goals 👍
Brilliant effort and gutted about the deleted clip! Need to visit each county in England as well! And more socials! Collab with Carl always goes down great aswell 💪🏽 happy new year!
You and carl fishing euro aqua you lads would probably catch the lake record fingers crossed great video as always can't wait for the year ahead on this channel sounds good
Great video as always! Croatia or Hungary maybe? Carl again that was a good video. Or Chris, the ginger fisherman. The video with Matt fron CLC was good as well.
Here's a challenge for you...Spartic Trout from Hawkridge Res on a fly. Massive change from your usual fishing. Always good to mix it up and learn new fishing skills
Should definitely do, a Matt hayes greatest rod race, that's what it reminded me of when you said about catching different species, great video as always though mate!
Mate you don’t need them at all if you’ve got a good very light drag or baitrunner, 25 yrs I been dead baiting and 13 years ago had to use the baitrunners after I went away for 3 days and forgot my drop offs, had a brilliant few days and not once did any run drop the bait, I never used them again after that and have never had pike drop baits or certainly no less than with drop offs, it’s another complete myth the "any resistance whatsoever and they’ll drop it” saying!
If you don't have drop off indicators, you can open the bail arm and put the line in the line clip on the rod. Does the same job as the drop off. I have caught loads of pike using this method
Though session Joe. Thankfully you caught one, so worth all the effort. Sadly, its a bit far for me to visit for days only 😢 Idea for a film: Wells Catfish on the fly!
Great video again Joe, can I recommend milemead in tavistock in Devon on the carp and silvers lake, have some massive roach in there, and maybe a Collab with Matt haze 👍
Hey Joe, loving the vid as usual. One place that never seems to get people fishing, that I know of anyway, is Albania. Somebody probably has fished over there, but you did ask for odd places LOL!
If you haven't got the proper pike drop off bite indicators (which are surprisingly expensive) you can set the bobbins up on the rear butt rests so the bobbins are under the reels and then open the ball arms. When you get a clip out the bobbins drop off and the line is free flowing so less resistance. In essence it works the same as the proper drop off indicators. Just make sure the bobbin tension isn't too high so the line can pull out of them easily enough
Using drop offs rather than bobbins will help with the resistance/change in resistance, clip up against the spool then it’s instant zero resistance on a take with an open bail arm, great video and great shots nice one
Awesome first video for 2025. I love Somerset and try and holiday there as much as possible. Never fished out that way so would be lovely to check that off. Love your goals for 2025. Not sure who you could collaborate with but I'm sure they will be wonderful videos. I hear fishing out in Eastern Europe is pretty good these days. Don't worry about the lost capture, happens to the best of us. Good luck with 2025 and good health to you and your family.
Always looked at cheddar res, but never got out there, seeing it on your vid has got me wanting to get out a pike rod or two now, also Joe would love to see you try, bakers pond frome, it's on the catch app, tight lines buddy.
Seen a few of your videos now, quite new to fishing myself, learning with my two boys. I've just subscribed 👍🏻 We also really enjoy snagged bro and agree a Collab with them would be fun. Big fans of Carl too, either would be a win for us 😁 Euro venue wise, how about river Ebro in Spain for some of them big cats, Jeremy style? Keep doing what you do and good luck with it this year 🤞🏻
I had a Cheddar tench obsession for a while many years ago. Never caught anything over 5 and a half pounds.. I hear they they are all over 7 pounds now. Caught two pike over 15 on the one day I went piking there. Sink and draw sardine was the killing method. There are some very large roach in there also. As for collabs how about The Ginger Fisherman? He can show you some great Yorkshire rivers.
Always been a bit scared to fish Cheddar. Im more at home on the drains. Catching a Pike in Cheddar is an achievement in my eyes! Maybe you could fish for some weird little fish like Stone Loach or Bullheads?
If you're going to Scotland, try castle Loch near lochmaben. Plenty of bream , pike and I hear some carp . BTW you're not alone in the cockup stakes , I put back a p.b carp last year before checking my phone only to discover I wasn't recording . Won't be doing that again (hopefully) .
Hey bud, nice video, I enjoyed your outline plans for 2025, I’ve been on a similar journey too, increasing my species count, taking up sea fishing and more fly fishing. As a West Country lad you’re in a great spot to do it. Wild brown trout in the Exmoor streams, Huge grayling in the Frome, Estuary Mullet, Bristol Channel rays, and countless mini species on the LRF in rockpools and harbours (Montague’s Blenny anyone!) but beware the weevers!! I moved to N. Devon 2 years ago and already added 25+ new species to my list, and still feel like I’m just scratching the surface and spending too long getting frustrated over mullet on the fly! Oh, and have a word with Sean at Snagged Bro, I’m sure he’s got some tips on getting better hook ups with the Poik (oops, I slipped into my native East Anglian there!). All the best!
Definitely get some drop off indicators. You can then fish with bail arms open so the pike feels very little resistance on the take. Also worth letting them run a little longer before setting the hooks. The fish will often grab the deadbait side on, swim off and flip it head first before swallowing. That I think is why your fish was only just hooked. You do need to balance this with the risk of a deep hooked fish. Experience will tell you when to hit the take.
Some specimen fishing for often forgot species in line with the calendar for those species! So spring tench fishing, summer carp fishing, autumn river fishin, winter piking?
I feel like a collab with life of tom would be a great idea, maybe with other fishing youtubers going up and helping clear the bank and river of all the rubbish that was flooded in after the storms after all rubbish can damage fishing for future generations.
Nice vid again! Where are you headed in Sweden? I live in the mountains quite far up in Sweden and could certainly help you tick off the fly fishing but if you're headed here for carp then you'll be too far south
You don't need to buy special drop off bobbins for pike. Just swap your normal bobbins from front bank stick, put them on rear bank stick, clip bobbin on and fish open bail arm. Simples. Good video.
If you're gonna do some fluff chucking? Then I think back to old JW lord rest his soul, he went to a lake in Lechlade, Gloucestershire for some chunky double figure Trout! Other than that as I've suggested to Carl but he doesn't seem too interested? Joining the 100 club for cats on the Ebro in Spain! Best of luck in whatever you do and Happy New Year to ya fella! Tight Lines 🙂
Great video Joe you mentioned you like to do some venues all around.ide like to see you fish one venue in wales the new celtic lakes got carp too 40lb cats to 80lb and stergueon go too 130-140lb and 2nd venue has to be bounty lakes in France 🇫🇷 mega place and got massive fish from carp to cats and grass carp check them out mate keep up the good work ❤🎉
Republic of Ireland, go dapping for trout using a grasshopper or daddy long legs for bait

A colab with Carl is always a winner.
I’d love to see you do a collab with snagged bro you three would be such a laugh😂😂
Second this 😂
I agree, an “I can’t hook up on pike” support group with Sean should be on the cards! Oh, and I suppose the drama queen in the blue coat could tag along! 😉😉
Quality watch as always joe onto the next adventure tightlines look forward to the next video 🎣 👊
Great Venue. Havent visited yet this Winter but will be there soon!
Well done mate. I was told that putting yourself out of your comfort zone is a good thing. You did well on the reservoir. I'm looking forward to seeing you going after different species, being an all rounder is a good thing. Tight lines
Great video, really enjoyed it. Cant wait to see you out and about catching loads of different fish.

Same here mate once I caught my first cat made me realise Carp don't fight 😂
Great video as per usual Jo, always enjoy your content.
Great video joe… I think you spoke with my mate about this video, we fished it a few years ago and have had some decent fish out of there. Hope things go good for you this year you definitely deserve it! One video a week is a big goal, hope you smash it mate 🎣🎥
Good luck this year 👍 just subscribed and really enjoyed video
Would love to see some carp fishing in Italy if that's a possibility.
Great vid and although I'm solely a carp fisherman, I thoroughly enjoyed this video.
That overhead drone of the pike release was unbelievable to watch. ☺️🙏 super footage man.

This is a great vid. Well done. Expert camera and editing. Yoo the man
Fantastic scenic shots of Cheddar @nuffinbutfishing 👏🏼 Certainly an interesting choice of venue. Best of luck with your goals for 2025! 🎣
You are doing a great job. Keep going. Whatever species, or venue, you go for it. You bring fun to angling.
Good vlog glad you broke the pike blank 👍🏻 interesting venue good content well presented
Brilliant pal. Our mate Martyn. Maa.
Wicked video. The editing was amazing on this. 🙌🏼🙌🏼 fair play.
You and carl fishing euro aqua you lads would probably catch the lake record fingers crossed great video as always can't wait for the year ahead on this channel sounds good
Great idea for a series, looking forward to watching.
Brilliant filming, lovely fish, look forward to your posts.
Nice to have met you on your second day and I also caught that day , was tough going . Great video
Good effort🎣 would be great to see you catch different fish in amazing places. I love your idea of catching fish in each UK country 👍
Great video as always!
Croatia or Hungary maybe?
Carl again that was a good video. Or Chris, the ginger fisherman.
The video with Matt fron CLC was good as well.
Great little vid joe . Could see my house in a few clips . Literally a couple hundred from there 👍🏼
Nice pike curly, tight lines, look forward to the next one👌👍
wicked video!! Definitely i venue i would love to visit, especially since it was a place i visited a lot as a child
Here's a challenge for you...Spartic Trout from Hawkridge Res on a fly. Massive change from your usual fishing. Always good to mix it up and learn new fishing skills
Another great video, mistakes happen Joe, but we learn, dust off and go again. Lets see you do some specimen Tench fishing!
Great video, i would love to watch you go to the usa and fish for largemouth bass👍
Brilliant video again Joe, thanks
That over head drone shot of the release was great 👍🏻
Defo a session with snagged bros 💯💯💯
Nice angling Joe. How about finding and fliming some decent tench fishing venues in the West Country? That feels like a challenge!
Loch Lomond in Scotland for monster Pike... tight lines
Should definitely do, a Matt hayes greatest rod race, that's what it reminded me of when you said about catching different species, great video as always though mate!
Nice one Curly 👍 I am considering the drop back indicators too I guess maybe there not as crucial as I thought
Looking forward to the stuff you have planned for the year
I do the same when piking, maggots and groundbait draws the silvers in and the pike soon follow..
Decent vid cheers for making it 🎣
Loch awe mate it's a fantastic water.
Is there still big Roach in there?
The old guy is a legend mate he thought me a few tricks how to fish there ! I had 2 pikes both double 2 weeks ago
If you don't have drop off indicators, you can open the bail arm and put the line in the line clip on the rod. Does the same job as the drop off. I have caught loads of pike using this method
Though session Joe. Thankfully you caught one, so worth all the effort. Sadly, its a bit far for me to visit for days only 😢
Idea for a film: Wells Catfish on the fly!
Very nice Joe, Bala Lake for pike in Wales as a venue and a collab with CarpKing71 👍👍🎣
That's a huge reservoir! Some great videography there Joe, must have taken some time to set up.
lure fishing with Snagged Bro 👍
Nice vid Joe, those Premier Tackle dead baits obviously did the trick 👍
If you go to Scotland 🏴 you’ve got to try get a trout/salmon on the the fly and a pike from the lochs 🎣🎣🎣
If you’re trying fly fishing Joe, having a go for one of the big Perch out of Chew would be a fun challenge

Brilliant upload as usual, I would like to see you fishing with carl in France for massive carp. Tight lines me babber
Nice work Joe!
Tight lines 🎣🎣 😊
Portugal would be cool, Carl is always good and I would enjoy Snagged Bro also
Using drop offs rather than bobbins will help with the resistance/change in resistance, clip up against the spool then it’s instant zero resistance on a take with an open bail arm, great video and great shots nice one
Kian said Colab with snagged bro 🙌🏼
a pike collaboration with Snagged bro should be a laugh ;)
You're alrouit bouy you are. As we say in suffolk. Keep it up fella.

Amazing looking pike from the release shots, shame you deleted the other footage. Love to see more of these different species videos.
Always been a bit scared to fish Cheddar. Im more at home on the drains. Catching a Pike in Cheddar is an achievement in my eyes! Maybe you could fish for some weird little fish like Stone Loach or Bullheads?
You need to come up to the midlands and have a shot at zander. Great fish to catch

Come to Northern Ireland and either pike fish the erne or carp fish loughgall. You'll love it, there'll be loads of Guinness or cider

Come down to dorset bud , got some cracking stretches of river and some grayling / trout spots too
Great video mate, first time watching your channel. If you ever fancy a sea session, give me a shout.
Some specimen fishing for often forgot species in line with the calendar for those species! So spring tench fishing, summer carp fishing, autumn river fishin, winter piking?
I'm went deadbaiting for the first time was a good learning curve it was on a similar resi very hard with lots of pressure
Relatively local to me! I've been meaning to deadbait it. I'd like to see you catch monster perch in Europe.
Be sick to win a day's fishing at cheddar
Cracking Friday watch
you should try using drop off pike indicators with an open bail arm
Collaboration with snaggedbro and ginger would be an amazing video! Or even boatside if you go to Sweden
Put the bobbins on the backrests abd clip the line under the spool with open bailarm.
Hi it’s me Braxton. Me and my mum amber had a selfie with oh if you remember love your vids
@braxtonfear2874 hi Braxton. Yeah I remember 😁 hope you enjoyed the rest of your walk and cheers for watching 👌🏻
@@nuffinbutfishingI did enjoy thanks happy fishing
@@nuffinbutfishingsorry but not to be demanding but a small favour. Could you please mention Ryan Lee in you next vid please he loves your vids.
Use the heavey lead u got lite leads can still be moved even on free running rig. Heavy lead less resistance
I feel like a collab with life of tom would be a great idea, maybe with other fishing youtubers going up and helping clear the bank and river of all the rubbish that was flooded in after the storms after all rubbish can damage fishing for future generations.

Loch Awe for pike 🎣
Stick float on the trent for some lovely roach
quality video you should go fishing in Lithuania heard there is some good fishing there
Come over to Portugal 🙂

Have a look into fishing for carp in Bulgaria Joe.
Curly vs Luke? Would be great here 👍🏼
Fly-caught carp/pike?
Well done Joe... Cornwalls like a different country. Just saying 😂
Absolutely correct ,a recognised minority status ...
Grayling on the river Wye!!
