Very fun to watch. I've been getting back in Tetris recently and trying to get at a competitive level. Just got my first 300k a couple of days ago and am able to play consistently up to level 15. Working on my Levels 16-18 right now and hope to start practicing Level 19 soon.
We're in the same situation. I've been practicing for a half-hour or so every day but I've been playing off and on since I was a kid. I play on 18 and average scores 300,000-450,000. I can't play consistently or get many tetris' on level 19, though. DAS is tricky. I often top out before 18 for some reason. I need to work on the way I build so I can burn easier.
I had thought you got to level 30 before. I did it 3 times about 20 years ago. I don’t know if I maxed out though because at the time I never kept track of score. I was more fixated on reaching level 31. A goal I’m looking forward to achieving one day soon now that I found my NES and Tetris in my storage

Can you max out if you have less long bars than any other piece? Would that be possible for anyone? If not, you literally have to get lucky to do this, on top of everything else
EricSmyth14 for a maxout from lvl 18 you need 60% tetrises on your game. From lvl 19 something less, but close so yes, it’s about being lucky and have mad skills to use the good rng or makes it good when it’s not.
Lover watching Jonas and Harry in general but especially there level 19 start runs, they may no longer at the moment be the literal #1 best in the world,but there still top 10 easily.and Jonas will rebound pretty big next year in the main event.

Or somehow just frantically throws them in the correct places, is it not allowed in Tetris or is it just it is considered not possible for a human? Do they have to stop on level 29 or can they continue if they wish?
Level 29 has long been considered the "kill screen" (note the quotes) because it ends the vast majority of games. With hypertapping on the rise, there are a couple players who can survive that drop speed for a little while - one recently reached level 32 - but those are still rare games.

I'm not Jonas but making your build flat as possible makes it so you can put them anywhere and then tuck an L/J, T or even an I piece in there.

David K it is the original nes tetris from 1989. You can get emulators for it bit also like remake nes devises with games loaded on already
