Last I checked a random person with like 10 guns isn't a well regulated militia. There's a good argument that any lack of gun control is unconstitutional.
To Americans both ammendments are slightly different. The first 10 are percieved to be intended by their idolized founding fathers, so they believe THOSE are sacred. The rest were added afterward by different people, so the ammendments afterward could be disputed. In my opinion though this viewpoint is faulty since hundreds, if not thousands of people were involved in the drafting of the first ten ammendments. Shes cool, but when she said governments cant go after companies because it's private, she forgets to mention that Facebook, twitter, and other social media sites have taken federal funding, have special federal contacts. Saying the government shouldn't do that when they did just exactly that by having every social media company follow their "guidelines" on what speech should and shouldn't be hosted, makes her entire complaint seem super hypocritical. The fact is that these social media companies not only take federal funding indirectly, they also benefit from private companies who also take federal funding, like the telecoms, given how much bandwidth they truly need. What this results in is a government company pretending to be a private one so the government can use it to censor your speech while getting around the 1st amendment. Go figure that when freedom of speech is allowed to flourish, people founded another platform that naturally holds the values it wants, instead of making the federal government do it for them.

It's not like George Washington and friends came down from heaven and went "we will do these".
I dont know, if a couple more CEOs wind up suddenly allergic to lead, we might actually see some gun control, which i think would be hilarious. Seeing the "hes gonna protect our guns" guy flip and start restricting them would be epic levels of irony

I'm not sure if laws are going to matter that much. Same goes for sanity and common sense in general in America's government. I sincerely hope I am wrong though. Please let me be wrong.
Like biden pardons 1,300+ people also his son 😂 bruh lost in the sauce is crazy. Most in u.s history x4
Thank you, Liz. You're always here to give me the worst news-- but pleasantly.
The Worst Bias news 😂
whenever someone says "but he can't do that!", remember: he can, he will, and he knows noone will stop him
FYI, the video states "50% off of ground news", but when clicking the in-video link, the actual offer switches to 40% off the subscription, while the in-description link seems to offer 50%...
Wait, that's illegal.
If only the Laws in America were upheld equally regardless of class and social standing. Now wouldn't that be something!
The hypocrisy of the people loving these pics while saying Kamala wasn’t qualified is crazy
It still baffles me that enough people believe a bankrupt felon is a good pick to run a country.
Let me correct them * akhem *
Kamala was ALSO not qualified 😊
@@mikonyx7712 and how was she unqualified
*picks
Kamala wasn't qualified because she's done nothing for the US for the past 4 years of the Biden administration
Liz Dye is such a great explainer. She turns should be a head-spinningly, depressing video into an engaging government/legal education video through great comic timing. I don't think I could sit through this much detail without running screaming into traffic without her exceptional presentation skills. Long may the partnership between Legal Eagle and The Trump Whisperer continue.
The lynchpin of the arguments presented by Liz and Devin seems to be that the incoming Administration will be governed by the Constitution and division of labor between the three branches. I would suggest that, at the moment, this is a fraught assumption.
When, in this past decade of Trump, have you ever seen him give even the slightest concern about the rule of law? As he said, Trump can now (censored) someone down on 5th Avenue and NOBODY will do anything about it.
Like biden and son hunter? That's all I gotta say. OH wait also 1,300+ pardons
When has any president cared about the law?
@donttrusrthemhos917 it's funny when yall totally ignore Trump and Co stating their intentions to go after the Biden family no matter what.
@@jonathanmensch9698 Oh I've already stated for the record that I would be surprised if Biden actually makes it out of the White House before Trump arrests him.
Nothing is a legal problem if you simply choose to ignore the law and nobody's going to stop you.
Every day I'm contemplating more and more on whether I should wait out Trump's 2nd term or just give up on this country and move... Uruguay sounds much better
Just wait until his 3rd term.
Bro thinks the US is ever getting another election.
It's not South Korea bro, Americans aren't gonna walk out overnight and stop a dictatorship.
Bye Felicia😂
Republicans will say leave, I’ll tell you to stay and try to make it 1% better
Be prepared to leave if needed. Stay and try to mitigate the damage as best able if reasonable.
In the Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance game, the libertarian villains idea of a land of the truly free is "Where the law changes to suit the individual and not the other way around."
The difference is that Trump and his cronies are the kind of scumbags that Armstrong despises and is willing to flatten America to get rid of. He is disgusted with people who have no principles and only live to fatten their own wallet, which is Trump to a T.
I thought The Simpsons were the ones meant to be predicting the future, not Kojima
@@BioCreatorZ
Metal Gear Solid 2 as well.
Hideo Kojima is a time traveler, and Nothing can convince me otherwise.
I'm 80% sure he also wanted to bring duels back. Dude kept talking about the strong vs the weak like some Victorian aristocrat lmao
Ngl, I'd rather have Senator Armstrong as my president rn.
Some day, I'd like to live in a country that the rest of the world doesn't watch like a reality TV show dumpster fire.
You vote in a reality TV host. What do you expect. But then this whole show is more than one man. All three branches of government are in his hands. He is enabled.
“He larped as an epidemiologist and immunologist…”
Great line!! 🤣
The the word of kermit, the frog - This is undoubtedly the seediest bunch of cutthroats, villains, and scoundrels I've ever seen !
There are no legal issues for billionaires as 2 tiers of law don't allow it
Elon Musk cutting waste is hilarious when you consider how he tanked Twitter.
Proceed to ignore all his other successes and look at Twitter, the one purchase which served far greater purpose than to make money. It wasnt worth 40 billion anyways
@somerandomdoge12 Not a single success he made for himself and didn't buy into. He throws money at so many things and pinpointing a possitive buisness venture he's made is a lot harder than the mountains of failures he's paid for
@@WilliamAfton-n7d Soo because he has some failures we're just gonna completely disregard the 400 billion that hes made? You can take credit away from him but he must know some shit to make that much. It really doesnt matter how many failures he has had, even if the ratio is 10:1. The businesses that succeeded clearly work, and the ones that didnt dont really matter. He didnt start rich either
@somerandomdoge12 So he overpaid?
That's not very business savvy.
@@WilliamAfton-n7d Isn’t that just what investing is? He has a lot more makes than misses, which is why he’s making money instead of losing it. You’re a good investor if you make just 20% more makes than misses and accumulate wealth over time, and he’s rich.
Thanks!
It could be worse, lol. He could tap Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman to head to head the DEA.
Who says that ain't coming?
WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT?! DON'T GIVE DONALD DUMP ANY IDEAS
That's not worse than the things *actually* coming
So much liberal tears in these comments
@@donttrusrthemhos917 Your tears are still drying on the windows of the Capitol building from four years ago.
Sorry, everything is predicated on "he can't" but he's pretty oblivious to that. He is going to plow through and anyone who wants Republicans to be in power are going to do what he says.
She talked about that. That was kinda the final point at the end of the video, circa 22:08
I have little reason to hope for the future.
Leave then 😂

Can't help but feel that your checks and balances only work when you're not part of a cult. Or consider the approval of your glorious leader as more important than the actual law. Or your constitution.

They're not cabinet "picks", these are the highest bidders, and don't forget that everything still has to go through him. At least until his handlers get tired of him and replace him.

When the joker is elected by the citizens of Gotham, what could go wrong?
That’s an unfair comparison, the joker used that position to reinforce the economy and actually helped the people of Gotham. This actually happened in a comic.
@@unintentionally_edgy5867 That mean the Joker is a better politician than Trump... nice
@unintentional ly_edgy5867 ok, how about voldamore running hogwarts?
Joker is actually socialist and Gotham got a lot better in the tv show and the comics 😅
@SaffronWorldCR well, then voldamore becomes head of hogwarts.
You know how those political thrillers about the US government usually has a character talking, in hushed conspiratorial tones, about people who secretly exist to dream up contingencies for 'unthinkable scenarios'?
It feels like we're about to live through some of those unthinkable scenarios.
Doesn't Trump realize that Musk isn't even American.
Every time I hear Vought, I just think of Homelander laughing in the background.
The inmates are literally running the prison
They have been for a while.
I'm surprised that more focus hasn't been given to that creepy children's book. They're not even trying to hide that he's a king to them anymore.
As creepy as it is I'm genuinely unsurprised they're doing stuff like this at this point. I mean, these are the same type of people who uncritically compared Trump to the God-Emperor of Humanity from WH40K.
Very good video! You guys are doing a tremendous public service providing this information.
The French she says literally says "I'm sorry but I can't do this anymore"

Conservatives: I need everyone else’s life to suck as much as possible because I can’t figure out how to fix my own life and I need to be above everyone else who doesn’t agree w me
That's pretty much the reason all the poor white people in the deep south during the slavery era supported slavery despite it taking away any chance they had of employment.
16:27 could’ve used another 2-4 seconds of Liz staring at the camera for comedic effect 😂
As a Brit, it’s fascinating how this highlights the structural differences in our governance - a British prime minister does have the power to unilaterally create departments, and effective control of the purse via their Chancellor of the Exchequer. They can also appoint the minister in charge unilaterally, they can’t pick anyone: they have to pick members of Parliament (although this can be effectively circumvented by arranging their appointment to the House of Lords).
Sounds complicated
@ Governing countries usually is 😅
It’s a pretty straightforward system really: God picks the monarch, the monarch picks the prime minister and there is a gentlemen’s understanding between the monarch and the people that person they choose is the one supported by the people’s’ elected representatives (The members of the House of Commons). Much more straightforward than this electoral college, written constitution and coequal branches silliness.
Hopefully it stays that way. It would be nice for us to remain a shining beacon of democracy, but if we fall into chaos then at least SOMEONE might pick up the torch.
The underrated thing about the Monarchy, is that the Prime Minister basically gets called into their office and grilled every week about what they've been doing. It doesn't stop them, but there's at least that humbling they have to go through if they aren't being sensible
@@Moleoflands Even if they didn't grill the PM in office, British comedians will do it anyway at least
