My portfolio doesn’t just cater to dividend stocks. I hold $VFIAX (S&P 500 index fund) in my Roth IRA and $VTI (Total Stock Market ETF) in my taxable brokerage account. Two of my largest holdings. The individual dividend stock positions all complement the index holdings.

    • @Mrshuster
      @Mrshuster 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Diversifying with $VFIAX and $VTI is smart. It’s financial independence, not dependency, that truly empowers.

If you lack market knowledge, your best bet is to seek advice or support from a consultant or investing coach. Contacting a consultant may sound simple, but it's how I've managed to stay afloat in the market and increase my portfolio to roughly 60% early this year. It is, in my opinion, the best way to get started in the industry right now.

I’m curious about how dividend income from these players stacks up against the S&P 500. With inflation rising, how can I grow my $350K cash reserve into 7 figures in the next 2 years?

Look for stocks that have paid steady, increasing dividends for years (or decades), and have not cut their dividends even during recessions. which may reduce your dividend gains or income, speaking to a certified market strategist can help with pointers

Agreed. It's always wise to be proactive and consider diversifying our investments to manage risks in uncertain economic times. I delegate my day-to-day investing to an advisor ever since suffering a major steep-down late 2019, amid rona-outbreak, and as of today, I'm semi-retired with barely 25% short of my $1m retirement goal after subsequent investments

You have a very valid point, I started investing on my own and for a long time, the market was really ripping me off. I decided to hire a CFA, even though I was skeptical at first, and I beat the market by more than 14.3%. I thought it was a fluke until it happened two years in a row, and so I’ve been sticking to investing via an advisor.

Unfortunately, not all of us were financially literate early. I was 35 when I finally educated myself and started taking steps. I went from $176,000 in debt with zero savings or retirement to now, 2 years later, fully debt-free and over $1000,000 net worth. I know that doesn't SOUND like a lot, but I'm incredibly proud of it. Now I'm fast-tracking my wealth building (investing $400,000 annually) and don't owe a dime to anyone. It's a good feeling!

Hmmm, it's always worth considering views contrary to your own and this is very much the case here. The concern I have is these guys are describing a two-year limp up at the end of an explosive market. Has this ever happened before? I don't think so. Now, that doesn't mean it cannot happen but to surge as much as the market has then limp up maybe 15% over 2.5 years, nah, I just don't see it. Even David Hunter's moon shoot to 7,000 but over a much shorter period makes better sense than this hopelessly contrived scenario. I think we are entering the zone when all the gains fall to those who make highly improbable predictions. They lose little if they are wrong and become superstars if they Forrest Gump it.

Fed open market transactions selling debt until interest rate rises to the target means that the dollar supply gets smaller if they raise the interest rate target. Furthermore any other source of dollars is sterilized by that operation -- it soaks up those dollars too. The interest rate target is the dollar supply world.

Eg gdp = nominal rate. His answer is Keynes/Arrow told him so! That is ridiculous, particularly given how central that is to his other arguments about the true risk free rate, etc. He read just enough to be sound smart. His other ploy is talk A LOT. You would never let Howell, Green,Pettis etc get away with that. Then again, they actually know their material.

I lost over $80k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. It just taught me to be a better investor now that I understand more of what could go wrong. It took me over two years of being in the market, I'm really grateful I found one source to recover my money, at least $10k profits weekly. Thanks Katherine Stewart.

The main focus for markets now is Nvidia, which has powered a large chunk of the S&P 500’s recent earnings. Nvidia’s stock, up more than 90% this year, rose 2.5% in New York on Monday, sending the Nasdaq 100 index to another record high. I'm still looking for companies to make additions to my $350K portfolio, to boost performance. Here for ideas...

The market's volatility makes DIY dangerous. You do not need to identify the next NVDA to be successful in investing. Choose top-tier ETFs, dividend aristocrats, and a trusted advisor. I turned $180k into $200k in quarterly dividends, which is an exciting milestone

George Robertson is really detached from society. He is in the investor class, and he has no idea how bad most americans hurt when inflation hits, and wages dont change. He said wages automatically change in California with inflation. Well, not everyone wants to live in a failed communist regime like California. There are 49 other states, 4 territories, and 4-5 actual countries that have dollarized where prices go up and wages dont. He said inflation is a tax. Yes, good good, and then he said the federal reserve is the greatest thing ever. Not good, not good...... George Robertson is playing a persona here, because that is just a joke that inflation is a tax, and the federal reserve is a great system. Thats not a logically consistent position

Jack always falls back on his old MMT college alma mater battle cry,.. "an irresponsible, insane and detrimental government fiscal deficit is a surplus to the private sector"
And what does that do for ya?
Why not just write and send $1 million treasury checks to every citizen in the US each year,.. oh wait,.. what they heck,... send a $1 million US treasury check to everyone person in the world each year and that should solve every problem any person could ever have?
That should be fine with MMT Jack here.
    Here's what we have,..
6 to 10% government vote buying deficit spending generating about 1 to 2% real GDP growth giving us about 5% steady state inflation.
    What we should have is
0% (in bull cycles) to 2% (in recessions) government deficit spending
with pro-private sector business regulations (for starters cancel the Bribem admins' executive orders to destroy the fossil fuel industry,.. which caused oil and other forms of energy and therefore the prices of everything else to skyrocket)
generating about 4 to 6% real GDP growth,..
with the DEFLATION that would result being handled by the ebbs and flows of the fractional reserve banking system.
There was absolutely no reason for this coruptincompetentsenileoleJoe admin and thedemcorats to continue to spend 50% more in 2021, '22, '23 and '24,... years after the pandemic is over,. than was spent the year before it started.
When Trump left office,.. the economy was growing at 6% with inflation under 2%.
It wasn't 9% when senileoelJoe took office as he and the demcoratsclaimed.
No need to waste nearly 2.5 hours listening to 2 guys tell us how stimulative (aka inflationary to risk assets and of course to consumer prices) the deficit spending is.
    Just see,...
6 to 10% government vote buying deficit spending generating about 1 to 2% real GDP growth giving us about 5% steady state inflation.
Truflation and even the BLS numbers are just BLBS.
