I can verify, Vigor is absolutely worth it in the deck. It's won me multiple games with my Ayula deck.

AYULA! I love my Ayula deck.
I actually got my snow basics cheap off eBay but I know not everyone has that ability.
I don't have enough vanilla bears in the deck to run Ruxa so he's not in this deck. I have more changeling and bears with abilities.
This deck is super fun and budget, and I have lost to my own deck (lent it to my husband for a game and he won with it). Worth it.
I like that the grizzly joke is also shown on the page itself, made by a familiar face even.

I've had an Ayula deck I've been tinkering with over the past couple years, dropping cards in every few sets. Really looking forward to see your guys upping the average take on her. She's underrated imo. Love the work y'all
Literally just built this deck to fight along pre-cons and these swaps seem perfect!
Another card to consider for this deck is the super secret tech in my Ayula: Primal Forcemage. It's like Rhonas's Monument, but gives the entering creature +3/+3 instead. So basically you have a 2/2 bear enter, Forcemage makes it a 5/5, and then you can use Ayula to make that 5/5 fight something.

Yes! Rule zero: basics = snow basics. Thank you! We track such rule zero “errata” on a post-it note and keep it on the battlefield as an easy reminder. We also like gates = shocks (unless you have both already).

I like adding Kamahl to the deck for his stampede ability to break locked boards.
I played + upgraded my ayula deck a couple of times. But it leans SOOOO heavily on Ayula that i gave up on it. Too much of an effort to make 2/2 vanilla creatures bigger...and they don't even have trample XD (actually sold it to someone in my playgroup a week ago). Kind of the same reasoning for my Arcades defender deck. Both are very flavorfull, but after like 10+ games with both of those decks I just find the decks to be too vulnerable.
I went back to mono green stompy with the new Kamahl and i often switch it for Ghalta or even better, Goreclaw (best bear ever). It's less reliant because you can just put green good stuff in it with build-in trample (which is what defenders + bears miss for that extra stomping power).
BUT. I have had a great time with both of the decks :) Just time for me to move I guess ^^
I would love to see a tazri episode. I see that users are turning it into a dungeons deck and think 5 color dungeons could be fun
Non-Bears from my list that I consider MVPs: Vigor (Which you already mentioned), Kalonian Hydra, Forgotten Ancient, Foe-Razer Regent and the new Vorenclex
I had some cool moments with Words of Wilding where I had Elemental Bond + an Anthem on the board and could essentially generate a chain where I create bear tokens equal to the amount of mana I had available each turn.
The whole set up ended up being too inconsistent though, and the card kinda sucks on its own as you mentioned.
Great timing! I've been wanting to tweak my Ayula deck for a while. It really just started out as purely on-theme, but I've been wanting to power it up. Also how bad did it hurt you to to recommend Scavenger Grounds?

I really hope you guys make a video about Hogaak one day. Hogaak is amazing but just popular enough to not get included on a list about unpopular commanders, but not popular enough to get anyone to make a video on him like muldrotha. The hate hogaak gets is residual hate from modern, and unfair, he should be feared, not hated.

Good question! The Persist will end when the creature changes zones. When it returns to the field it's considered a new object :)

More like bearer of semi-bad puns. I don't hate them, but they could be better. Also love this deck, I feel like after Graham debuted this deck on command zone, everyone decided to make an ayula deck. I'm going to, eventually.....

Can we get a Brago episode? Seeing how stable it is is kinda weird to me as there are so many strong etbs and the average Decklist hasnt changed to add some of the best ones.

The way you were talking about replacing Rampant Growth with a ramp spell that fits Ayula's play pattern, I thought for sure you were going to put in Search for Tomorrow. Suspend it on turn 1, play Ayula on turn 2, and you start turn 3 with 4 mana for two more bears! What more can you want?

Poor Ruxa, spending all that time being called a male. She's so delightful that she deserved better.
Caller of the claw also lets you play a bear, have it fight, die and then get tokens. Words of wilding is also a great combo with greater good and sylvan library.
Greater Good + Words +Ashnod's Altar is the Magical Christmas land version I like
@@heatherkamp114 the magical Christmas land combo in my IRL deck is Greater good + Aluren + cloudstone curio + caller of the claw (also needs at least 1 non token bear to die) but this lets you draw most of your deck (in even increments unless u have an odd power bear) and infinite bear ETB and bear tokens (you can do the last two without greater good but usually won't win without drawing most of the deck)

I am surprised you kept the 8 dollar rare from Midnight Hunt in the deck. Not having easy ways to gain trample make it seem suspect as a do nothing enchantment most games maybe?

That's 3 mana to get 3 bears every turn. You don't have to waste your rishkars expertise for those bears. Sometimes a drawstep is good enough.
