Nice snag! Especially those 1K Zmax. I’ve been stockpiling Xtreme bullets for years, and just picked up 1500 230 grain RN in a red 50 cal ammo can special, and can tell you the HP’s in that caliber aren’t common at all from them. I don’t recall the last time I saw them. Instead I picked up 2000 185 and 230 grain JHP’s from Roze Distribution, their Zero bullet line, which are nice quality at a good price, and they’re super nice people. Where are you getting the moly coated bullets? For non jacketed / non plated lead bullets I shoot Oregon Trail hard cast bullets, 230 gr RN for the most part, and also have their 250 gr RNFP and 255 gr SWC for .45 Colt. They seem to shoot cleanly with minimal to no leading in a Colt Series 70 with Briley barrel. Back in the day with the factory barrel I would get some leading at the throat with 200 gr lead SWC’s loaded light for IPSC, (shooting several hundred a day though) but not after I got the fitted match barrel, not sure why. (?) Yeah, right around $400 for that 2000 bullets with a premium for the HP’s after CA sales tax and shipping, so you did very well. BTW I still dry tumble lightly dirty stuff in corn cob, but have got wet tumbling down so it’s fast and does a much better job. Try just wet tumbling your dirtiest range brsss for just 30 minutes in dawn or other soap (Armor All Wash & Wax is best) with no pins to get the worst off, and dump it off & rinse. Then more soap, lemishine & pins for 90 minutes. Buy the end screens for the FA tumbler, pour off the water, then rinse, pour off again, then separate and dump all the pins on a towel. I like that it’s less dusty. There’s lot’s of good bullet deals on Calguns if you get over there. I picked up 1800 Rainier plated 155 gr FPCB’s last year for a great price from someone getting out of the business. Doubt I’ll ever shoot them all but couldn’t resist the deal. Thanks for the look at your latest acquisition! 👍
Thanks for the comments and information. Appreciated. I get my moly coated bullets from Bear Creek. Love them and never had any issues performance wise or lead fouling. I'm very satisfied with the score.
