Just ordered for my new home... Glad to see such a positive review. Like you, I noticed Flooret quality over others I looked at (and I purchased MANY samples from MANY vendors).
Thanks for the review. I too am doing my research on this product. I’m impressed with quality, color and warranty. Look forward to seeing your new home. Good wishes
My installer definitely liked the durability, but he said the wedges were too pronounced after a click and lock. Not sure if anyone else has noticed it or felt it on a small sample they ordered? Would this have a feeling of cutting your feet is what I am trying to determine. He recommended the Chesapeake collection, but can't find the 20 mil color and click-lock I need without padding as I intend to use a cork underlayment to help my neighbor downstairs with noise issues 😂
Thank you for posting this video. I'm also in the decision process and am leaning now towards GemCore. Gaia has that gourgeous Sole patern, but I know that a wire brush is enough to scratch Gaia (the store lady showed me how easy). I know GemCore will not scratch with a wire brush (same store Kapritz, same lady, in San Jose CA). I thought Flooret would not scratch, now I know that it will. GemCore's Ruby (28mil) patterns are not that great but Onix's (20mil) are good enough, if I can accept 20mil instead of 28mil.
I just went through your house build videos looking for the floor update. Love the porcelain tile in the bathroom btw! Did you end up going with flooret, or did you do porcelain tile throughout the house?
Good question. I used porcelain tile in the bathrooms. I intended to go with Flooret for halls, entry, kitchen, and pantry, but in the end two things happened. 1. The supply chain issues created major delays in getting the Flooret flooring at the time and this would have impacted my building schedule to an unacceptable timeframe. 2. My builder would have used Flooret but their relationship with other suppliers offered much higher discount levels. I ended up going with a product that had an equivalent spec and so far, for the last two years of use, I have been very happy with it. This is GemCore flooring. In the end, the Flooret flooring gave me a target to shoot for in quality and spec, so where I ended up worked for me. Hope that helps.
Not yet. My house is not expected to be complete until July 2021, but as soon as its installed I will be posting a video of the install. Likely will go with Flooret Signature Raeburn
Hi! Did you do a scratch test of this product? I've tried lightly scratching several LVP brands with a small pebble, a butter knife, and with a chair leg and was very disappointed that they scratched so easily. I wonder if this is more resistant? Thanks for helping me decide whether to take a chance on this product.
Good question. I did test. Hard pressing with butter knife or pebble does scratch surface. Light scratching is not showing any sign of scratches. Chair being drug across shows a minor surface scratch, but I was able to rub it out ok. If you come across any flooring that does not show damage from a hard drag of a knife or sharp stone, let me know. I would be very interested in that. Another thing to note, and maybe the 40 mil wear layer played a part, I was able to buff out most of the scratch damage, other than the deep knife gouges. I would be interested to know how a porcelain floor tile would hold up to scratching. I know it chips with a heavy drop. Hope that helps!
I have a friend that is in year 2 of this signature line (in another color), has 2 overactive German shephards that run all over the house and small children and you can’t notice any scratches at all. Hope that helps
@@GOATbro_Australia I think Floorets Iona Flooring does a very good job for a scratch test. Iona is somewhat of a good comparison for a porcelain floor but much lighter, not so cold, and much easier to handle than a true porcelain floor tile
Because of supply chain issues, I could not get this product without a major impact to my construction schedule. I did end up with a very good, and comparable product called GemCore by Reward. I actually like it better, although it did cost more. I selected Ruby Collection, Monterey. Specifications Technical SPECIES: GemCore THICKNESS: 6.5mm WIDTH: 7" LENGTH: 48" TOP LAYER: 28 mil Wear Layer TEXTURE: Natural texture GRADE: Stone Composite Flooring (SCF).
I put a sample in a bucket water for a month. Like putting a garden hose in water... like new... this product is far superior to the junk out there. Others are made in China with cancer causing chemicals. This product is made environmental friendly... the price is like unbelievably low for such a great product.... if this man hasn’t convinced you to go with Modin, nothing will... remember your children and pets are in constant contact with your flooring... p.s. who drops weights on there floor?. Only carpet could stand up to that... real wood would have been gouged big time... thanks for the destruction home improvement lesson 👍🏻
Unfortunately, no. My builder could not source it in time to meet building deadlines. I ended up with a very close spec though. I would have loved the 40 mil wear layer, I ended up with 27 mil. I wish I could have got Flooret!
I ordered samples and did a scratch test with keys and bottom of kitchen table. My wife wasnt impressed, the scratches kind of stood out, were looking at others, almost im not sure if i went overkill with the keys to really try to scratch it up.. any luxury vinyl manufacturers you recommend?
The thing is, no flooring is indestructible, not even concrete, wood/tile/concrete would gouge, or crack or scratch throwing a metal weight at it, so proves very little.
Forget the truck test, I would take a heavy piece of furniture like a big couch and push/slide it across the length of the plank.

This is the exact review I needed! Thank you!
This was not only informative, but entertaining! 😁 Thanks for making the video. I'm thinking flooret is the way to go.

I'm OK with the drop test. Not sure what could stand up to that.

@@GOATbro_Australia thank you for the follow up! I'll look into the GemCore
Have you installed these floors yet? I'm interested in this exact brand and color and would love to see how it turned out.

Can we see the floors now? It's been 2 years
Yes please! How did it turn out?

Good Codes for discounts?
I think it was for free samples
Can you tell me how this turned out? Do you still like this product? Any regrets? How is it when it comes to showing footprints etc? Thank you!

Might not drop weights, although possible in a home gym, you might drop other heavy objects. I have, and just wanted to know. Thank you!
I was thinking the same thing, if you dropped a weight on any other flooring, it would be damaged.
Shaw Floorte? Or Flooret?
Flooret! This is Raeburn Signature from our Modin LVP Collection - www.flooret.com/luxury-vinyl-plank-flooring/raeburn-signature/
Thank you for this. Did you ever install it in the new house?

@@GOATbro_Australia Do you still like the GemCore by Reward after a few years? Is it still holding up?
@clint-ock I do. It has held up very well. No issues at all. Very happy with it.
