Yeah sorry, it's been a truck I've wanted to do a video about for so long. Better late than never hopefully.
This definitely did me many favours in the early parts of the game. Still does now. Never thought I'd purchase and use the Derry Longhorn 4520 in Yukon, but that rear axle turning definitely comes in handy for turning back around with a trailer attached.
These vids are getting so much more entertaining than knowledgeable hahaha love it

Thanks for the video Ben, I don’t have this truck, so it was nice to see it thrown off the runway a few times. The active suspension upgrade for the Kolob’s has been a huge gamechanger for the two you previously put head to head. Time for a rematch perhaps? Still waiting for that time trials guide video....... you know, the one where you show us each time trial and how to get a gold.....😋👍🏽
I bought this truck when I bought Snowrunner. Couldn't go without it.
I used this a lot in the early days, definitely no regrets.

When i use the navistar i turn down the volume just so i can hear myself think cause of how loud it is

Fun fact, the AK12 is an actual gun, it's a modern prototype looking to replace the AKMs and AK74s. So I guess you could say the truck has some big guns lol

Navistar mv5000 was a champ had it since the release of has earned it's stripes in my fleet. Because that was the one truck I could always depend on when every other truck was like nope not gonna do it. And I have left sitting in Michigan for long time till recently in the Yukon figured after have sit for so long. And not running the Michigan maps as much anymore it's time to export it to Another map.
I used mine a lot in the early days, definitely earned its keep. Definitely get it going again!
@@ATribeCalledCars oh yeah use for the long trailer or loads requiring more then 2 to 4 slots of cargo the loads that actually require a semi trailer.
You could even do a Minecraft style channel, A Tribe Called Carts

Asides from the ank m38 civilian this is my daily driver the major downside that this vehicle comes with is its horrendous fuel economy making it a fuel trailer dependent vehicle on maps with no gas stations but I still love it ❤
I don't get how the fuel capacity says something like 300l and in the vehicle I'm only getting like 80l is this an upgrade or an unlock?
Your measerment is set to gallons and his is on litres
@@erikknox6704 oooh the game doesn't scale that automatically? On my vehicle stats it shows litres and on my vehicle when I leave a garage it is on gallons.. I get it now weird how it shows both and not what I've got the games measurements on. Thanks.
@@garysawyer9836 i think its because the game didnt launch with the gallons setting so when they added it they forgot to include it for all measurements
The only complaint I have is the amount of smoke that comes out of the stacks. It makes it slightly frustrating to use in third person.

Sent a message off to Snowrunner basically stating it would be far better if they put this truck in the Epic store. Got a 'maybe response... I mean if they charge season pass holders for the 49x then why not the 5000?

@@ATribeCalledCars Woah I never got notified you had responded. If you're not already aware, Epic is against the idea for no reason and Steam has an option to purchase it.
which map where you using in the beginning of the video with the jump/airport?
Alaska, White Valley. When leaving the garage drive through the fence to your left and go straight - the airport is in front /slightly to the right. Saves a long drive round.
That thing is thirstier than me when I have a high bloodsuger as a type 1 diabetic

Welcome to the Navistar experience. It makes you a very efficient driver. Or insane.
This thing seems very difficult to drive cos it doesn't have the outward facing exhaust. The fumes block your view & that's very dangerous when hauling big stuff.
You're right, I think I just got used to it. Adds to the excitement!
@@ATribeCalledCars lol I dunno how you got used to that. It's prolly OK on main roads but if u wanna go through those tree lined narrow roads or having to slowly maneuver corners with those big oil rig type cargos, I think it's pretty hindering.
I really wanted to use it....looks like they stole it from Mad Max.
On other trucks you can use a different exhaust, at least. It's definitely got a Mad Max vibe!

Has anyone used this truck with the highway gearbox because it makes no difference to off-road performance it’s brilliant high range is super quick an with momentum pulls through anything you don’t need low range unless you need control down hill if you haven’t tried this setup please do.
If "murica, Fk yeah" was a truck, it would be the navistar, it's fun I agree but it's rather incapable of pulling heavy trailers off-road because it just spins it's wheels, I get the longboi to do the work the navistar fails at
Yeah sometimes but then I dragged that giant fuel semi trailer through Alaska and it was fine.
