Is This The Best Walk In Mid Wales?

  • Here myself and my good mate Steve embark on a fourteen mile hike through the wild and remote Cambrian Mountains. We enjoyed lakes, meandering valleys, waterfalls, forest, mountains and pathless terrain in places. It was an incredible hike and one which I certainly consider to be the best in Mid Wales. The most incredible thing was not seeing another person in six hours despite being a weekend in the height of summer.
This part of Wales is special and touches the soul in the way I can't explain. You need to visit to appreciate what I mean.

I like that Steve sounds a bit like me on a hike!

He did in many ways, but he actually loved the climbing bit. It was the pathless bog he detested. Who could blame him.

Thanks D.P.T. I'm glad it was enjoyable and helpful. If I've shown others how incredible this walk is, then it's mission accomplished. ATB. Dan

I agree dan it's simply awesome out there. I love to go off piste - it's the only way to fill them spaces inside. Great views of Pumlumon. Mark

Cheers Mark. Off piste is the way to go sometimes although on this walk there wasn't much choice in the matter!

Cheers for the kind words. It is an incredible walk and one I'd suggest every outdoor enthusiast does at least once. I can think of few other places in England and Wales that are this remote.
