What an great adventure! The Central Highlands look absolutely stunning, and the remote bothies you visited seem like such peaceful escapes. Loved how the trip was full of unique moments and the connection to nature really came through. That quote from the bothy book, “nature rewards braveness,” is really inspiring - it sums up the spirit of the whole journey!

Hi Dan, I think this is my first watch of one of your adventures and I really enjoyed it and listening to what you have to say too. This type of trip was very similar to my own earlier in the year hiking across the Cairngorms and catching the late bus home. . It also reminded me of the time I spent at loch Ossian YH probably about 20 years ago now. Like you I’m sure I too am really looking forward to another trip to Scotland next year. ATB Dan. 🥃

Alright there Dab - a full happy view mate. An epic walk in and friendly meeting with the camper. But how good you chose to walk on - ah that valley was awe inspiring and hey, still. Great video and I liked the outdoors shots at the end. I'd recommend spikes for the snow. I've used the Scarpa Ranger for years. It's a bit heavier than the Terra, but I find it excellent in the type of mud conditions you showed.

Yorgen Tillbreaker Von ballbusta here , I’m Norwegian and live in the Lake District Uk, I have theses boots , they’ve been great , I’ve walked over 2000 miles in them and have only had 10 new soles , and the uppers have been replaced 7 times, plus 8 sets of laces, apart from this they’ve been great 👍

Worn many different boots, fabric, leather and so on. These are the best. Comfortable, and waterproof for years. Always buy these now

I love Islay (I did some cycling there) and Jura. I've hiked over a dozen times in Europe but not much in my native Scotland. I'm glad I discovered your videos. To be honest, it was initially because I was curious about the route the missing hiker (as reported on the BBC website) took: Inverie to Glenfinnan. That's the first video of yours I watched. Your films are well-presented and beautifully shot but above all it's your spirit, your appreciation, your enthusiasm and your gratitude that are most compelling. May God continue to protect you and bless you. I can definitely see He has already...🙏

"Cheers" in Scottish Gaelic is "Slàinthe Mhath" (sla-nge-va(r)) and means "Good health". Or you can just say "Sláinthe" (slan-the) for short. So it's the same in Irish Gaelic except it's pronounced differently apparently ("sloyn-cheh"). I do hope, however, that nobody's going to think that drinking more than a couple of drops of alcohol while hiking in the remote Highlands with its unpredictable weather is remotely a good idea... You need ALL your wits about you. (And some people, as we know or ought to know, aren't capable of drinking just one miniature and stopping there 😢)

Having grown up on the Isle of Lewis I can relate to the midge problem..people don’t realise just how life changing they are ….you literally can’t go outside without repellent, nets, etc

I will stick to the good old Vango Banshee 200. Ive had that for a decade now , quick to put up and just right for one person. I tried other types of tents, but for the price it is such a strong reliable tent. Big plus for me is that you can open it either side. Don't like the enclosed feeling of a tunnel tent. But if it works for you great.
